We need to talk about VoicePlay's incredible arrangements for a second. I feel like too many professional groups nowadays are all doing very similar things and I find myself scrolling past a lot of them when they pop up because I know what to expect. But whenever I see that a new VoicePlay vid is up, I click immediately because I know that I will be surprised and impressed every single time. They are so creative and it definitely does not go unnoticed to this fellow a cappella arranger.

This striped down version of this song feels like the most consoling and warm hug, like the kind of hug that can heal the wounded inner child of a grown-up ❤️

There was utter chaos everwhere else on the bus as people talked or danced. His voice singing this song was what brought me back up. It was what stood out. Wow, in all the years since the original came out, I don't think I've ever heard this distinct a new arrangement of True Colors! A lot of times it's hard to have an unbiased reaction to something that deviates so much from the form of a childhood favorite, but I have to say, this version is stirringly beautiful. I love how each of you got the chance to shine as a distinct voice and blended in different combinations with the others, and of course, as I'm sure many others will have commented by now, I was delighted to have this chance to hear Layne's singing voice.
Chills in the first 5 seconds, fighting back tears by 16 seconds. Layne's mood at 3:19 is my whole mood during this song! ❤️❤️ So happy to hear more of Layne's amazing singing voice. This arrangement was heavenly and very emotionally moving!

I so love when the smaller a capella goes five ways. The blending is so much more colourful. Don't get me wrong, beat-boxing is great and completes the mix, but when the song is slow and meaningful, it's like fireworks in my mind. To be honest, in a song like this and the way you have arranged it, the bass is all the beat I need. Magnificent. (I might even join Dana and hug Layne myself)!!!!

I know that it was mostly just how the music was arranged, but the facial expressions and body postures really gave me that sense of them just needing to take a moment. Gorgeous.

Not really a high note, but it sounded impressive because despite this song being a more calm, serene song, Geoff was able to casually put in the transition to still sound smooth and add a nice layer of color on the sound
The harmony on this one is incredible. I love everything you guys do (generally end up liking your version better than the original..), but there's something magical about the quiet simplicity of this one.

So I listen to this on my phone the other day. I didn’t realize how much of the awesomeness I missed. If you have only listened to this on your phone speakers do yourself a favor and find an external speaker or headphones. It is amazing!!!
