My heart is beating, you are so much like my son. His addiction path to misery started at aged 14, he spent most of his life in and out of prison, countless overdoses and the police raids, it goes on and on, in and out of rehabs but the devil heroin and greed seemed to be the feed as he was a dealer and a debt collector. It sure tears the family apart, he is not hated, the drugs are hated, he chose to estrange himself from the family for what he put us all through. He is 47 and still cant get off Methadone. All the best Ryan.

When a parent allows a kid to quit school without a good reason that explains alot why he came to this path, Deciding to get clean was a good choice. He got his life back and that is a very good thing.

I think that such kind of prizes should be arranged for people who usually suffer from addictions and this could motivate people to fight off addictions even more. When you get rewards for fighting addictions, you strive harder to become much better person.

This is an amazing story Ryan. you're very correct in stating "addiction is a progressive disease". An introduction to addictive substances always lead to further experimentation with other substances and it goes on and on. I am super glad you've put all that behind you now.

Very young teens don't go abuse/ use really hard drugs and very hard alcohol, at all. Its usually the very young children and very young teens that have experienced horrendous, trauma, that start to look for something, to ease the pain that feel from being abused.

  • @MiracleBaby1987

These young teens and young children, don't see any other options, but to try and numb the feelings and emotions, with drugs like marijuana, cocaine, heroine, ectascy, vodka, beer, and any other illegal substances that can get their hands.
