    Stu. I LOVE your tutorials. I’m copying them verbatim for my Union force. But I’m really sad you haven’t posted more Union tutorials. I know a lot of them are similar. But it would be awesome to see some more love for the Union since there are very few boxes. I love your work!

      Thank you that’s very kind, and so good to hear how they’ve help you. I may return to Epic ACW videos at some point, and I’d look to cover Union then for sure, as I think more paints have come out that make them easier since. But it’s probably not going to be soon, there’s quite a large planned to do list right now.

    Thanks for this. Your infantry painting tutorials have been a huge help, I'm sure this will be as well.

    Great video. These are really nice to paint, which is a good job as there are so many. The epic ACW stuff is my biggest project to date and have been enjoying the videos you have been doing that follow your progress with it!

      I’ve done a few big projects over the years, but I think this might be my biggest as well.

      Definitely will do one soon, I’ve got a few half finished units that I need to do, so once I’ve sorted them I’ll get them all set up.

      Be interested to know your approach to painting Confederate units.. research of actual units/ uniforms, or a more generic attitude??

    • @MiniatureRealms
      @MiniatureRealms  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s been very generic so far (that matches the miniatures really), I plan to do a few more specific/specialised ones later on though.

    I use gun metal grey for the cannon...

    • @MiniatureRealms
      @MiniatureRealms  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m going to do some with blacked barrels as well, planning to cover t some to look more like Parrots, so might paint them that way to differentiate.

    You need to pierce the canon. Add realism

    Lovely job. I have bought some contrast paints, but haven't made the jump! do you varnish for protection? if so what do you use?

    • @MiniatureRealms
      @MiniatureRealms  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don’t often varnish at the end, I hate when it changes the tones and colour.
      For metal miniatures I often varnish after priming (just.a thin matte layer), I find it helps prevent the wear on the extremities.
      I sometimes varnish as part of the painting process. This is mostly for models like tanks where I’m going to add decals/oil washes etc. I matte them back afterwards.

    "a table top paint job" ??? get the hell out of it would you. I'd sell my granny and her friends for that level of quality...
