Great video, between you and the manual it was very easy. Thanks for the advice about a sturdy surface , I am going to put it on the floor as soon as my 140lbs body with a broken leg and get more help 😂 If you are a small lady beware or get some help, IT IS HEAVY!!
You mention that when you made your benchy it printed well after you dialed in your settings. As a newbie to 3D printing can you show how to get everything calibrated and dialed in? I bought one of these and it will be here in a few days
He bought two to replace the Any Max and the Ele Max! 😂 Am I right? 😁 In addition, you've bought a brand with an outstanding customer service. I am VERY tempted....Welcome to the Core XY Club!
Great printer! Uncle Jessy highly recommended it! On a different typic: Do you have any issues with the N4 and sanding your helmets? Where the layers start pealing off and string up as you sand? I'm getting that issue now with a full size Storm Trooper helmet I printed, Bondo is fixing the mistakes but its increasing the repair time. I'm thinking the layer walls weren't heated enough and they didn't bond together well? Could you tell me your nozzle temps with Elegoo Rapid PLA? Sorry for the off topic. Enjoying your journey!
No problem at all. I think you’re right about the bonding together part. I’ve had that issue before with a different printer. The EN4 hasn’t had that yet. My pla temps are 220/60. I would also look into your z height. Is your first layer getting good squish to the bed or can you see gaps in your lines.
No problem. If you print slow than 205 should work fine but these printers print fast. I use meta pla which has a suggested temp setting of 180-200 but that’s based off print speeds of 100mms. I haven’t printed with Elegoo’s rapid pla yet but their pla pro liked the 220 temps. You could always print temp calibration towers. That’s a great way to dial in the filament to your printer.
im stuck between the max 3 or save some money and get a sv08. I like that 350 build plate but i have to tune it in. Do you use the heated chamber for PLA? think i read someplace it helped hide the layer lines.
I bought an SV08 that I need to setup and test. Never use the heated chamber for PLA. With PLA you have to print with the top off and sometimes the door removed because it can naturally get to hot and clog your hotend. It’s actually common issue on all enclosed printers and using PLA.
BE AWARE!!! After a few months of using mine, i have nonestop nozzle clogs. i would buy like 10 new nozzles. In 20 days, ALL GONE 800 bucks down the drain.
I think they may have a new hotend you can order from their website? 🤷♂️ I haven’t tried it yet. I print 24/7 so I swap out my nozzles a lot on all my printers so I haven’t noticed anything unusual but I’ll keep a closer eye on them.

Im setting mine up right now!!! Woohoo!!! Cant wait to start using this beast!

I have one and it is so good compared to my other printers. Big and fast I love it.
I’m happy with it. I’ve been fighting to get my new X-Plus 3 working and I think I’m just going to send it back and get another X-Max 3.
Now your working smart 🍀
I hope so!
Two?!? Wow. I wish I could afford just one. I do want one eventually. Right now Max will keep me going though. Those prints do look nice.
I put them on credit so I can’t really afford them either but I want more. 😆😆😆

@@cybergnetwork588 No. Not to replace them. To add to his stable.
@@OuterRimArmorer Yeah my same credit account is maxed out right now, or I could do it.
I kept the other 3 printers. They’re actually printing great right now. Still need them for all the armor orders. 😆👍
Love the video. What side spool holder did you print off printables? Do you have a link?
This is one of them.

This is the other one I made. Both worked good. I don’t use them anymore though. www.printables.com/model/597028-qidi-x-max3-side-mount-spool-holder
@@OuterRimArmorer What do you use now for a spool holder, if I may ask?

Ahh yeah I was running 205 on the nozzle. I'll adjust for the next build thanks! @@OuterRimArmorer

is is dimensional accurate?
did you set the z offset?
have you printed with ABS yet? If so, how does it handle it?
I haven’t yet but I’ve heard great things about this printing and printing with ABS.
Dose max.3 work good
Yes it does! So far better out of the box experience than I’m having with their X-Plus 3.
