one EXTREMELY useful thing i just found out and nobody mentions in their videos: when doing any finger tricks you should pay attention to how far you turn your sides on the RUR'U' you should turn the R and R' at least 90° and the U and U' a maximum of 90° for corner cutting if you do it the opposite way, your cube gets stuck!
Good tip. For those that think it's obvious - people learning this wont necessarily think of avoiding the reverse corner cut. Even if your cube can do a reverse corner cut, it won't do so nearly as well as the regular corner cut.
I have a Zanchi, and it does corner cut very well on *either* side of 90 degrees. But cr42yguy is right - you should try to stay in the corner-cutting area during finger tricks ... a good speed cube will always do it's best to cut the corner in for you if you miss ... but you should still try to make it as easy for the cube (and your fingers) as possible. Even the Dayan Zanchi will only cut 1/2 a cube if your on the wrong side, any more than that and it will jam and ruin your time.
Hi, nice video. Right now I am trying to improve my speed and wonder, what is the best to perform U2 and U'2 moves. Do you grab the top layer further away with the index finger than on a normal U or do you push it further instead of grabbing it further? I hope you know what I mean.
@Nexor123 I use my index finger on my left hand to push the M while my right index finger will perform the U turn. It's a weird hand position, but it gets easier after you practice it a few times. You can do the same for a (M, U') exercise. I hope this answers your question.
im very new to all this and just starting to learn F2L, is there a video anywhere that explains the differences between a regular turn and a prime turn. also what exactly do all the abbreviations mean (eg R, R', U, M etc). Also what is the "sexy alg" A basic explanation of all the jargon would be really helpful to learn algorithms. Thanks
If you are still having trouble, looks like you dont know the beginners method if you don't know what the sexy alg is, if you don't know the beginners method then go learn that one first, unless you just don't know the name it is the only alg you use for the beginners method. There are videos about cube notation, the abbreviations.
I am a left handard boy, but even I am very slow at my left hand and very fast at right so my average comes to 40 to 44 sec. and sometimes 38. what exersize should i do to improve the speed of my left hand? please reply :-(
How do I make my cube less stiff? I just can't do most of these moves. It's a Jumbo brand, and supposed to be a last gen. model with more flexibility. I only bought it a day ago.. does it get lose with time or I can make it lose faster somehow?
+Parkourer 1234 I tried that, but it was a problem putting back the edge piece. For everyone trying this and having the same problem: remove one of the center caps (carve a bit into the cap and piece so you get a lid for later adjustments) and turn the screw a few times. It'll make your cube less tense so you can easily fit the edge piece back in. Plus it'll glide a bit looser, which might help you too. (though you should still put some lube in it)
+Parkourer 1234 yes, I did that. Problem was, it just wouldn't fit in. (I bought it 3 days ago so that might explain why). It was tense anyway, so I had an idea what was wrong. I loosened the screw and put the cap back on. After doing that, I finally could lift the top layer a bit to fit it in.
10:20 I've been wondering if my cube sucks or just needs lubricant but after seeing this I'm sure I just have a cheap cube since I can definitely not do that with mine.
I got a Moyu Aolong V2. No way it's going to pop. I've made it pretty tight to make it less sloppy, and now I can't even take a piece out if I wanted to.
I have a MoYo Aolong V2 as well, but I have it much looser than yours, and mine never pops, so don't get paranoid about popping, since it is such a good cube
I just got a gan 365 and I think I’m so used to a rubiks brand that the faster cube made me slower due to accidentally moving faces I don’t want to move. Is that just me?
Only been cubing about 3 weeks, but I did the same thing with my Moyu V2...so many overturns and getting stuck in my hand. Just need to get better technique because mine stinks.
I'm pretty new to cubing (started about a week Ago) and I use the beginners method. My time is 1:07.61 from the timer. From the start of the video I would like to know if I'm going to fast
Idk why. But I actually don't like the Zanchi. I dont hate the cube. It's just I don't like the way the plastic feel. I just recently got into speed solving and so far my favorite speed cube is the Moyu AoLong v2 Stickerless. With the Zanchi it feel like I could accidentally break the cube. But then again I have a rough turning style. Mainly because before I got into speed solving. The only Cube a had was a standard Rubik's brand 3x3 that I was able to remove the center caps on and tension and lube. So far I have six 3x3s and one 4x4. I have two Zanchi's(one black, one Stickerless) I have two AoLong v2(one black, one Stickerless) I have a Maru CX3 Stickerless that I put black stickers on all six sides (the Cubicle was sold out of the phantom cube I wanted so I improvised and made my own.) and I have a Shengshou 4x4 v5. And so far out of all these cubes. The AoLong v2 Stickerless is my favorite in terms of have the cube feels and how the plastic feels.
Mainly these videos are fake. When I was just getting my first cube and just learning how to solve this, I got tricked by videos that said with just doing two moves, you can solve the cube.
It's called a lockup, and it's very annoying. If you have a rubik's brand cube, you may want to buy a different one. My favorite site for this is thecubicle.us.
Jacobdaboss88 did it pop? and if it did pop then it can be taken back together. Also do you have a Gan 356? Cause cubes dont cost that much except gan puzzles
11 years and this is still useful. thank you.
1:07 "when you're learning these fingering exercises"
*___________*
Sheesh
I'm beginning. Your tips are very, very good. You do easy the difficult.
I got my speed quicker a little because of this... thank you!
How much time do you give yourself to warm up, or for practicing these exercises?
you do it like you wanna do it. #best videos around
Thanks a lot!
Thx for this video. Been looking for something like this. 👍
Rubiks brand?
very gooooood
yes, very true this starts at 1:38 :)
Ty
Whats your personal best in 3 by 3..
Randomly got recommend. Interesting how we went from this to modern fingertricks
Back in the old DAYAN ZHANCHI days
Yes now I have gan air magnetized since 2 years, but at the time I considered the dayan probably the best cube in the market
thanks, bagged a few tricks
gr8 vid !!
thanks, very good video
Thank you for making this vid! Helped me a LOT. :)
Which cube r u using?

Unless your cube can reverse-corner-cut.
wow thank you captain obvious
OMG REally we didnt know that[u ar a genius]

Jay Dhiru That is what I do as well
Watch Felix zembeg video of how to do it
+27cmCubeR its not zembegs!?!?? it is zemdegs
i use that too
Christoph Kau I grab normally and push with my index and middle fingers, so index turn U the grab with the middle finger and turn again the same way
thanks
Thanks so much this really helped!
Great guide, even after all this time!
11 years for me. this is still very helpful.
1 quick question how do u do the M move? Left thumb, or right thumb? Or how do you do it? I always move R' and move the whole middle slice down......
Gunbardo right or left ring or middle fingers
I use ring finger for M and for M2 i do ring finger middle finger and for M' i do pinkie finger
@Nexor123 I use my index finger on my left hand to push the M while my right index finger will perform the U turn. It's a weird hand position, but it gets easier after you practice it a few times. You can do the same for a (M, U') exercise. I hope this answers your question.
I'm trying to do these, but my Dayan GuHong's equator slice keeps moving out of place! Is there something wrong with the way I'm holding it?
im very new to all this and just starting to learn F2L, is there a video anywhere that explains the differences between a regular turn and a prime turn. also what exactly do all the abbreviations mean (eg R, R', U, M etc). Also what is the "sexy alg"

Have you found answers to your questions yet?
If not, there are many guides if you search "cubing notation"
If you are still having trouble, looks like you dont know the beginners method if you don't know what the sexy alg is, if you don't know the beginners method then go learn that one first, unless you just don't know the name it is the only alg you use for the beginners method. what cube do you use
wow this helped me a lot thank you
That helped heaps!
this is really helpful....good job bro!
Thanks bruh I learn a lot with this :)
is there any efficient or comfortable way to move middle layer of cube
Yes there is. First you move the last two layers and you turn the bottom layer the opposite side of you middle( sorry if I'm not clear)
ReglumFPR yeah ik but is that faster?
Rouxers use 'M' layer a LOT. I am super good with it
really good
dude.. what cube you using?
Also try R, U, Ri, Bi. takes 7 to solve and pretty fast
Thx man.
Josh Bolitho I got one alg: (x')(R U R' B2)x5 (x). The Na perm
But the sexy move takes 6 repetitions
super dude
AWESOME!!!
wow you are good dude man
good dude man?
Hans Eriksen watch Feliks Zemdegs

How do I make my cube less stiff? I just can't do most of these moves. It's a Jumbo brand, and supposed to be a last gen. model with more flexibility. I only bought it a day ago.. does it get lose with time or I can make it lose faster somehow?
Lubricate it by taking out an edge piece and putting Vaseline in it and putting back the edge piece
(though you should still put some lube in it)
+Rakonda ya have to turn the layer 45 degrees to put it back and taking it out
+Parkourer 1234 yes, I did that. Problem was, it just wouldn't fit in. (I bought it 3 days ago so that might explain why). It was tense anyway, so I had an idea what was wrong. I loosened the screw and put the cap back on. After doing that, I finally could lift the top layer a bit to fit it in.

I have a MoYo Aolong V2 as well, but I have it much looser than yours, and mine never pops, so don't get paranoid about popping, since it is such a good cube
... Can it even turn anymore?
I just got a gan 365 and I think I’m so used to a rubiks brand that the faster cube made me slower due to accidentally moving faces I don’t want to move. Is that just me?
Only been cubing about 3 weeks, but I did the same thing with my Moyu V2...so many overturns and getting stuck in my hand. Just need to get better technique because mine stinks.
@TheCRAGIES I will soon. If you want to look at it while you're waiting for my tutorials, you can look them up. My method is F2L, OLL, and PLL.
Your cube is so slidy did you put petroleum jelly on it or its just your strength
You can use multiple different lubricants for cubes. Some are WD-40 or Silicon Spray.
I'm pretty new to cubing (started about a week Ago) and I use the beginners method. My time is 1:07.61 from the timer. From the start of the video I would like to know if I'm going to fast
My fastest time with beginners Now is 59 Seconds
But Ive started using F2L
You can also use R'FRU'
Sharma Aniruddha yeah
this is more helpful than video
i seriously mean it
i always mess my flow during F
He said that in the video bruh
What's the name of the cube you're using ??
I think that it is a Dayan zhanchi

what type of cube is this guy using?
It's a DaYan, but I'm not sure which.
How did you make so slippery?
lube
you can do any repeated pattern and get a solved cube(starting from a solved cube)
No, try doing "R U" i.e., right side clockwise and Top(Up) layer clockwise.
ik it works with every move
kush joshi works with 120 times repeating it
Mainly these videos are fake. When I was just getting my first cube and just learning how to solve this, I got tricked by videos that said with just doing two moves, you can solve the cube.
👍
At least you have a speed cube.
thanks it really help me D before i can solve 1:30 after few weeks I can solve in 10 seconds thanks
Jason Soy Soy danggggg
Jason Soy Soy same here my bst time is 10 sec
im great with left
Why do you have a rubix brand cube

RUR'U' also can be done R',D',R,D
This vid is fcking awesome! You showed the RUR'U' just the way I already did it!
I love the sound of the R U R' U' shuffle when someone does it really fast, I'm wierd I know but Idc
I thought that I was the only one.
I love this comment ha
Lol but it depends upon the cube if it's magnetic or non magnetic even tho I lov it
gud bro
5:25 Sounds like music.
how big is this cube? 50? 55? 57?
zbysogi 57 it looks like
I got a Ghana 356 works ANAZING for speed cubing
Blake Thompson Ganz?
Mavik James Ye... well actually
Ganz 356 white air
Im just starting and can somebody give me tips
I got so depressed. I suck at fingertricks and just cant do it. I dont know why. I dont believe if i just practice that ill get better
Man what cube you use, I mean brand ?
It's a DaYan.
i.e the M move
Emg is that a rubiks brand?
No, it has a Dayan logo.
lol
no its a dayan guhong
Legends are watching after 9 years
ive been watching tutorials for years now with my speed cube on how to solve a rubiks cube and i still cant do it!!!
Dont give up. Once u get it, and u will, it's awesome....u can do it
my rubik's cube gets stuck. And none of the pieced come out
It's called a lockup, and it's very annoying. If you have a rubik's brand cube, you may want to buy a different one. My favorite site for this is thecubicle.us.
when i was 5 yrs.old i accidentally burned my finger because of trying speedcubing . the surface was rough .
that algorithuim scrambled my cube and I know I did it right
+Charles Schneider I also cant solve a cube, and the cube solver told me that it was unsolvable
there not algs lol, there finger tricks there part of algs but not algs alone
im crying now
Star Wars alg
R2D2
when youtuebrs unbox a cube, what are those algorithms, they look really cool and I think they r plls but I'm not sure
One fast pll is T Perm. Also J perm.
