- Join us in Lima as we eat our way through the city. From leche de tigre (a seafood aperitif they say fights hangovers and cures broken hearts) to mazamorra morada (a distinctly purple pudding), there is so much to savor in Peru’s capital.

December.... Lets go! I have been multiple times to don Giuseppe and better than the pan with pejerrey, he makes the pan with huevera.... Fish eggs fried..... OMG! Delicious.
I went on a culinary tour of Lima last October. Let me tell you, some of this food looks simple but it is delicious. Causa was one of my favourites while there. chicha morada is a perfect drink to accompany meals!

Gods I want to visit Peru someday
Well, Montevideo Uruguay's capital is in front of the sea too but peru has something else for me, love it.
Buenos Aires as well. I reacted when she said that Lima was the only Latin American country facing the ocean...
Montevideo and Buenos Aires are actually on the estuary of the rio de la plata. Small but pertinent distinction!
I have near 2 years living in Peru. And boy, the best food in the world. My favorite is Lomo saltado and for the hangover a really spicy ceviche. But there's other like Aji de Gallina. The yellow peppers gives a lot of favor🤤
Gracias por venir a Perú

All of them seem to suit my taste, bye guys I’m moving to Peru 😂❤️
3:16 The recipe for Papa Rellena dont have "special flour" it's dry potato flour, the dry potato is called chuño that is a variety of potato freezed in the andean's mountains.
Génesis Medina that literally sounds like a pretty “special flour” to me lol
@@delias17 XDDD true but it's not sooooo weird to consume here
It's not just dried potato...1. Expose potatoes to low temperatures near freeze point during nights and hot temperatures under the sunlight for several days, potatoes lose water and get puffier 2. Then, you place all those potatoes under running water (natural, really clean creeks/rivers) for about a week 3. Finally you put those to dry again for about 2 weeks 4. The final product is called "chuño", it looks like a small piece of dough covered with powder sugar, it's not soft or hard if you press it too hard it crumbles apart... you can only make chuño in high altitude places because it requires extreme changes of temperature and a dry enviroment....my mom says there are others ways to make chuño but they are pretty similar....
This is an awesome series! Great stuff
Great Big Story I just L.O.V.E your videos!!

I do unstand you language But think it will be testy. Thanks for shearing. 👍👍👍❤❤❤❤
@Great Big Story, Lima is not the only Latin American city facing the ocean, Havana, San Juan, GeorgeTown and other small islands in the Caribbean have their capital cities facing the ocean 😜
Actually is the only capital in South America... and places where the language doesn't came from romances lamguafes, are not called Latinamerican
Tengo que ir a La Punta para probar ese pan con pejerrey....!!!
Other capitals in Latin-america that face the ocean: Panama City, Panama; Paramaribo, Suriname; Georgetown, Guyana; Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic; Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago; Bridgetown, Barbados; Fort-de-France, Martinique; Roseau, Dominica; Basseterre, St Kitts & Nevis; Marigot, St. Martin; Port-au-Prince, Haiti; Kingston, Jamaica. Technically so do Buenos Aires & Montevideo, though they call the oceanic bay they're on the 'river plata' but it's a bay on the ocean coast nevertheless. 😉
PozoBlue YES THATS WHAT I THOUGHT TOO I WAS SCROLLING THRU COMMENTS TO SEE IF I WASNT CRAZY!! 😂😂😂
Please do more about other South American places!!!
The Pan American games was just there lol
Sad they didnt cover it
Its a tough choice but I think I would go with the fish sandwich, the ceviche is a close second. Everything looks tasty though.
Technically Havana and Panama City also faces the ocean and to decree Montevideo but Lima is a cool city with good food
true! but maybe Montevideo technically faces La Plata river?
Nice
😋
You guys should do something about Chile, we have many Delicious things here, or maybe Brazil, or Argentina, or even Bolivia
I can sense some jealousy here hahahaha
Love me some Peruvian foodz yo
Mi Peru , su gastronomía es muy sabrosa.
Al toke pez was featured on Netflix's series, Street Food: Latin America

Onions are a must in every dish
Same as rice, and a good and spicy "ají" sauce
Be there in 32 days. Besides being subbed, Google must know this.

❤️
They speak so fast! I got lost in their descriptions.
Could I just comment that my nickname is Lima and it means 5 in my native language.
3:22 well you can tell SOMEONE enjoyed a few tokes prior to eating ha!

Panama is surrounded by both oceans, inform yourself
But Panam is in Central America and is not considered as a Latino country, educate yourself.
@@ammarabbasi3230 Panama not a Latino country? What in the world?? I think it's another someone who needs to educate themselves...
@@KanBig Hello, that's correct. Every country in America from México to Chile is included in Latinoamérica. Maybe they were thinking in Southamerica.

When you see an Asian speaking perfect Spanish, I'm in awe... And wondering if I could learn to speak like that too...
she is not asian alot of peruvians look asian because many asians migrated there through slave trade and later on by choice. yes you can say she is part asian but she would most likely refer to herself as 100% peruvian because the genes were mixed in many generations ago her accent leads me to believe she was born and raised learning only spanish
@@guynumber20 I think he means the Japanese guy named toshi
@@jordana1900 because there are huge communities of japanese descendants in lima (and in Sao Paulo, Brazil) who have japanese surnames but are born in Peru or Brazil and have been for generations. You will see a lot of people who look asian though they are a racial mix and consider themselves 100% peruvian or brazilian. Also, that fusion of japanese and peruvian influences is what made Lima food so distinctive.
@@jordana1900 He's definitely Peruvian though
If you talk about the first guy, probably is because he is Nikkei, use google if you want to learn more about it.
