    Banh Chaev - Looks similar to Banh Xeo or Vietnamese Pancake wrapped in big lettuce leaves.
    Fried Banana and Fried Balut -
    We have Fried Banana fritters in the Philippines but with a wrapper, which is called "Turon".
    We have Balut (Undeveloped boiled duck eggs) in the Philippines but eaten upon cooked, peeled its shell, sip its soup, and eaten outright.
    I guess it could be delicious when coated in a breading and deep fried.
    1:22 Akor Ktis (Cambodian Rice Cake) looks like a sweet delicacy. In the Philippines, we have a version known as "Maja Blanca".
    Sizzling Flaming Beef Over Rice - I love sizzling food.

    • @gold-toponym
      @gold-toponym 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it's Banh Chao / Chiao / Chaev / from Viet.
      You can do further research about Banh Xeo. It says it may come from Cham influence and eventually, Indian influence like dosa, but uses coconut and is a crepe like batter.
      Regardless, Khmer, Cham, and Viet eat it. We put chicken on the other side of the border and more stuffed.

    Banh Cheav is actually " Bánh xèo " in VietNam, not ""Cambodia Crepe". I hope everybody who see this comment should come to Viet Nam to understand more about "Bánh xèo", also our cuisine. Thanks

      I was a bit confused as well for them to show Banh Cheav as part of our street food. This dish wasn’t originated in Cambodia and I don’t want people to have misunderstandings. Banh Cheav is a Vietnamese dish. I’m a Cambodian btw.

      @JerryDidv 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely. We Cambodians love Vietnamese cuisine but I don’t want people to get confused about its origins as I am all about originality. Just like burritos are of Mexican origin but are common in the US, various Banh dishes originated in Vietnam but are commonly eaten as well in Cambodia. I seriously hoped that GBS chose something else though.

      @@lethearith some Vietnamese sources accredit Banh Xeo to Cham influences.
      However, southern Vietnamese cuisine is closer to Khmer than northern Vietnamese.
      Especially where and how they use veggies and names for different foods and desserts. Both share cuisine like Thai and Lao share.

    I'm surprised there's no this sausage-like thing that's actually minced pork with rice(?) Shaped in somekind of thin layer of gelatin and corked with a stick.
    I bought it years ago on a whim while waiting for a bus in Cambodia, totally thought that it was just a pork sausage at first, but I couldn't ask better, it tasted soo good, one of the best umami flavor I ever had. I haven't forgotten the taste ever since then.
    Any of you know what are they called?

    • @watanakim3559
      @watanakim3559 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      In khmer language they called ខ្វាគោ (kwa-kor) or សាច់ក្រកគោ (sachkrok-kor). It's Cambodian pork sausage. You can watch this how to make it th-cam.com/video/1tpATV3-imM/w-d-xo.html
