Things to do in Bournemouth:
Beach Bliss: Bournemouth's undeniable star is its award-winning, seven-mile stretch of golden sand. Think soft sand perfect for sinking your toes into, building sandcastle masterpieces, or trying your hand at thrilling watersports like surfing, paddleboarding, and kayaking in the crystal-clear waters. The expansive beach offers ample space for families to relax and soak up the sun without feeling cramped.
From traditional seaside fun to modern amusements, Bournemouth caters wonderfully to families. The iconic piers boast donkey rides and classic arcade games to rekindle childhood memories, while the Lower Gardens offer a delightful miniature railway and splash park to cool off on a hot day.
Calling all outdoor enthusiasts! Bournemouth is a haven for those who love to explore and be active. Enjoy watersports like surfing, stand-up paddleboarding, and kayaking in the crystal-clear waters. Hike or cycle along the miles of scenic trails that hug the cliffs, or rent a bike and explore the Bournemouth coastline on two wheels.
Bournemouth caters to all tastes when it comes to entertainment. Catch a world-class show at the Bournemouth International Centre, a renowned venue that attracts big-name acts. Explore the vibrant nightlife scene with its bars and nightclubs, or opt for a more relaxed evening with live music at one of the many pubs. For a dose of culture, the Bournemouth Pavillion Theatre stages an impressive program of plays and performances.
Explore the charming independent shops that line the streets, each offering unique finds and local treasures. If you prefer high-street brands, browse the shops in the pedestrianised town center. No shopping trip in Bournemouth is complete without a visit to the Bournemouth Arcade, a captivating Victorian covered walkway brimming with specialty shops.
Bournemouth Pier: Stretching out 1,400 feet over the sea, this iconic pier is a must-visit. Take in stunning coastal views, enjoy classic seaside fun at the amusement arcades, or grab a bite to eat while soaking up the atmosphere.
Bournemouth Beach: The star of the show, this seven-mile stretch of golden sand is where it all happens in Bournemouth. Relax on the beach, build sandcastles with the family, or try your hand at a variety of watersports.
Lower Gardens: Escape the hustle and bustle and find tranquility in the Lower Gardens, a beautiful oasis in the heart of the town. Wander through the vibrant flowerbeds, take a nostalgic ride on the miniature railway, or enjoy a picnic on the sprawling lawns.

I'm staying down the road at the moment in a caravan near Wareham. I highly recommend it. Full of friendly folk and lots of laughs. It's like a Hunmanby of the South. Have a great day 👍
Thank you - you too
😎It has been over 20 years since last visit.
Have just recently came across your channel….and really enjoying all the varied places that you visit. When I was a kid in the 60s and 70’s , my dear old dad would take us to the south coast on holiday every summer, driving all the way from Scotland…this was a helluva drive…long before the days of linked-up motorways. Bournemouth was always our favourite….it seemed very exotic compared to grimey old Glasgow… Bournemouth still looks the business…and to be fair….Glasgow is now full of tourists as well!😀
Cheers, Kenny
One of the late neighbours went every summer to Bournemouth for a week , same hotel
I think that habit is dying out now a bit isn't it
Great video.

I used to work in Bournemouth as a chef in one of the clifftop hotels a million years ago. Wonderful sea front and very ⌛ sandy. Good chippys all over. You don't have to go to expensive H R.
@Gimball Walk Beautiful Bournemouth. Thanks for taking us along your walks. I really love your regular signature tune. Do you please mind sharing the title of the tune please?😊😊😊
Thank you
To identify any song (either on youtube, tv, movies or even in a cafe etc just use the free Shazam app and it will tell you immediately what any song is!)
It's amazing
(and free!)
Lived in Bournemouth twice. My son was born in Boscombe Hospital (now long gone). Hancock's brother had a flower stall outside the hospital. I also managed the Pavilion Theatre for several years. I could tell a few stories from that job I can tell you!
I bet!
I bet that was an amazing job to have!
One of my first jobs was working an ice cream kiosk in the Winter Gardens or Lower Gardens as you know them
Ah yes - very nice!!
Was it fun?
@@GimbalWalkTV got ill once cause I ate too much broken ice cream 🤣
@@neilleadler6824 ha ha ha!! I'd have done the exact same thing 🤣
If Tolkien lived in Bournemouth, that's recommendation enough for me!
There's some interesting stuff on that here - www.dorsetlife.co.uk/2009/11/tolkien-in-bournemouth-and-dorset/
why does not anyone swim in the sea?
Pollution from water companies who dump toilet sewage into it
On a good days it’s great, but more often than not it’s pretty meh 🫤
😮
