We just love having nothing under the bed! At some point, I decluttered enough to do that. It really makes it easy to vacuum underneath. No dust bunnies (Hubby says we only have snuggle bunnies.) and I think we sleep a little better.
Mia cleans my MIND thru her inspiring topics, compelling script & perfect delivery. Visioning the perfect home for that brief respite... A bit like the Vietnam POW who imagined his perfect home down to the smallest details & kept 'visiting' it daily in his mind to distract from the horrors in the real world.
For folks like me who are light years from this zen state, seek inspiration from the movie with Bradley Cooper "Limitless", where he starts out living like a slob with a trashed apartment... But cleans house in an intensive weekend!! The point is, he DIDN'T buy all new stuff - but made the place liveable & appealling by arranging & tidying what he had. Not Feng Shui but similar in that it goes back to the historic times where all our memes of home & a good life originate. Having few possessions used to be the norm. Having a small space too.
So you're telling me to hire a cleaning service.. good idea! :) I'll seriously get on that! Seriously, I will! Great video! I think this is one of the reasons why I've been experiencing severe depression. The more you spoke about balance and a clean/tidy/organized environment, the more peace came over me.. does that make sense?
I'm constantly reminding my husband that an open toilet seat lid is bad Feng Shui! Toilets are considered drains and an open toilet seat allows good energy to drain out of your home. They also make the bathroom look ugly... 😊
You could get an automatic toilet lid. If that's not possible , maybe it's worth relaxing about this a bit. While I agree that bathrooms look better with the lid down, I imagine that constantly reminding your husband about this must be at least as draining to both of you as an upright toilet seat would be. It sounds a bit like how people get a fish tank for the sake of good feng shui even though they don't like fish.
@@Smithpolly we're coming up on our 50th. wedding anniversary. It's not like I'm standing over the man with a rolling pin yelling about the toilet seat. 😆 I say "feng shui" and we both laugh about it. Humor is a huge part of our dynamic.
I love the content, as always. But I feel I must tell you today that you look especially beautiful today :) so fresh and positive. And live the hair, too!
Stuff is energy. All that blocked energy l could not breath. Decluttered furniture, all unnecessarys. Including my fantasy self... in the future l will use that. No l wont. All gone. I reckon l can now clean my whole home in one morning. Works for me.
Haha I certainly don't adhere to many of these but I do find it interesting and I love the idea of having space for energy to flow around our belongings. It gives a nice visual for me.

I have learned so much about Feng Shui and design principles in general from Julie Khuu... great recommendation!

Also, never flush an open toilet... it's like firing a germ firework display...
Haha good point!

@@vivian9803 That's perfect then. You can get an automatic toilet lid in gold for him as a 50th wedding anniversary present.
Thank you Mia!

Where did you purchase the beautiful wooden tray in the kitchen area?
I love the content, as always.

Sorry but I have nothing with this Feng Shui. I just like to do what feels good to me and that means books in my bedroom for sure.
