You say you were split on the 50 and 70 series, however there are multiple "50 Series" Flowmaster mufflers. Most aggressive to least aggressive "50 Series" street chambered mufflers there is the 50 Series HD, 50 Series Delta Flow, Super 50 Series (formerly the 50 Series Truck and SUV) and lastly the 50 Series Big Block; there is also the 50 Series Delta Force Race Muffler.
@@williambell6975 oh goodness, this was forever ago. I ended up getting a knock off chambered muffler. I think thrush? Not too loud gave a nice rumble.
Thanks Martinbuilt. Although I installed my 70 big block II series muffler on a 6.2 Raptor (already had stainless works headers and resonator delete), your video gave me the heads up and I sold off the 50's series that came with the American Thunder flowmaster catback I originally purchased. The 50's series did sound good (I tried it), aggressive, and like a cannon firing when first turning on the truck, but the interior drone between 1500-1900 rpm's was brutal.
I hear that, the 50 sounds great but the interior drone is a little to much but not as bad as the super 44. I was glad to get rid of that one. Thanks for commenting.
Great video, exactly what I needed to hear/know. Flowmaster states the HD 50 is the quieter muffler, not so now that I've seen your video. Thanks again!
Compared to the 70 series everything is louder from Flowmaster. The heavy duty 50 would be louder than the 50 Series. I used to have the Flowmaster Super 44 that was even louder with noticeable interior drone.
@@7REDDRACO7 I ended up taking the hd-50 and removed all the baffles and turned it into a absorption Muffler very similar to a borla muffler sounds great still pretty loud.
the 50 series big block is supposed to be quieter than the 70 just as quiet as stock except same awesome sound. isaw a 5.7l Tahoe video with one. checks out although there is no decibel meter, it sounds very good and very quiet.
3" flowmaster 70's going on the 1981 camaro, the headers are equal length custom fabricated extra long tubes to xpipe to straight under the axle tips center under rear bumper.
@@martinbuilt I used a spark plug anti fouler, 18mm I believe. Drill the center out with a 1/2" bit, and insert o2 sensor into anti fouler, insert both into pipe. Sounds mean
This is so extremely helpful it’s unbelievable. I wanna hear it but I drive on the highway very often. I don’t want drone if I can avoid it. Cons of having a cammed Silverado
I got a Cherokee in line 6 stroker 4.9 with the 50 Delta Flow dual outlet. I don't like the interior drone. I got a Big Block 70 series laying around. Think I'm gonna put that one on. Nice vid
Fran vincent the regular 50 Series Muffler they do make one that fits. This is the 50 heavy duty and they don't make one that has a Center Inlet with an offset Outlet
Just the comparison I was looking for, thank you so much for taking the time to video!
i wish more people would follow your example, thank you for your time and support. sounds good
I appreciate that!
I was split on the 50 and 70 series for my 5.2 zj. This video made my decision on the 70. Could not have been more perfect!

Exactly what I was looking for, I have a black widow 300 and way too much noise in the cab now. I'm getting the 70 series. Thank you!
glad you found it helpful.
Thanks Martin!! I was looking for this Vid..I will take 70.
I would take the fiftys

@@martinbuilt yeah, there is only one muffler by flowmaster that is quieter than the 70 according to them, the bigblock

Yeah, no.
Thank you. Going with the 70 for my 4.7L Durango.
Right on!
I prefer these on-vehicle tests. The ones with an engine on a stand don't replicate the actual sound.
I'll be trying out a new muffler soon, the Hooker Header Aero Chamber
3" flowmaster 70's going on the 1981 camaro, the headers are equal length custom fabricated extra long tubes to xpipe to straight under the axle tips center under rear bumper.
Did it work for you?
can i use super 50 for motors like 1.4L tsi jetta
I feel the super 50 is to large Muffler for a 1.4L
@@martinbuilt because i want only mild noise and not very aggressive. so is it okay!!?
I have a Super 44 on my 2000 JGC 4.7 with cat delete, sounds great
any issues with the O2 sensor with cat delete?

70 series going on my 01 Park Avenue
How's it sound?
@@MadCarTKLike a loud grandma car.
One thing it's not telling me is if that's with or without catalytic converters
I'm using a single MagnaFlow catalytic converter
I would like to do this setup but was told I can’t because I have Cali emissions
I take it you live in Cali
A muffler should not affect smog in any way as long as you leave the catalytic converters alone.

Any chance of a similar video with 40 series or super 44s?
I do have this one with the super 44 th-cam.com/video/0-LE1hrcbGI/w-d-xo.html
Too loud
Can I do a 50 or 70 series on a 07 Chevy trailblazer Ls???
I don't see why not.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee is it a v8, because it makes a big difference in sound.
Yes 4.7 non HO with Doug Thorley Tri-Y Headers, Magnaflow Cat and 3" mandrel bent tail pipe.
martinbuilt sounds like you have Kolak setup
So you thought this video could possibly be a V6? C’mon now…🤦♂️

Yeah I think you'll like the 70
martinbuilt I got a guy that's gonna fine tune it with the Split Second adjustable map sensor. Super excited
Nice! let us know how it turns out.
Very nice man ..
Thank you..
why can't get the 50 muffler on a grand Cherokee? I am going to get one!!!!!
Fran vincent the regular 50 Series Muffler they do make one that fits. This is the 50 heavy duty and they don't make one that has a Center Inlet with an offset Outlet
I have the 40 series on my Ram and it drones like a son of a bitch. Gonna go with the 70 series.
Looking to go quiet after installing a TH-cam inspired MagnaFlow
Then the Flowmaster 70 is most likely what you're looking for.
Thank you for watching.
interior noise is higher "THAN" the 70 series
Rod knock, rod knock.....Beuler?
That sucks! If that happens to me I'm going to install the 08 or newer 4.7
70 FTW

70sound better
