These are still amazing, especially for instrumental, and classical music. The sparkly treble, makes it sound so amazing for this genre of music compared to my other budget sets. Sounds clear in both foam tips, and silicone tips, and responds well to EQ.

hey man could you please tell me the difference between ak6 ares and edx pro. Is there a significant difference in the high frequency? which one would be better for rock
When you compared it to the mele you made me realise how badly I want an updated version on the mele. It's such an incredible looking iem, but to me its let down by the extreme trebble roll off.
Well depending on music taste you might not find it so lacking. There's always the possibility to EQ slightly although I seldom do it I found that using Tanchjim APB tips did help with the treble.
EDX ULTRA is miles superior. Only would consider VK4 if it was an original 1st generation one and also perfectly tuned.....I had to buy 6 pairs before I finally got a good set The Ultra on the other hand is well tuned..... excellent QC and perfect sound
Just got EDX Ultra, have to agree, Ultra > CRA+ > CRA. CRA+ removed sibilance(present not too much) from CRA, Ultra cleaned up bass and treble in CRA+. Rumble is rumble, punch is punch, and treble is focused and not breaking. Just fantastic. Coming from years of Sony reference MDR V6, I call this a flat profile. In comparison, 7hz zero and Aria jumped off too much in both ends resulting in artificially smooth and cramping sound.
Well James the Mele is perhaps a little cleaner on its detail retrival, and has slightly wider soundstage. Ultra is more tonaly balanced with what I listen, slightly better imaging , and more detail retrieval capabilities although it seems to get congested at times, thus the reason I say Mele is better.
How does it compare to the moondrop chu? I need a usb c earphone with a mic to use on my phone. (i already have a different setup for listening to music on my phone. I just one need for regular phone use)
It's a very fun and engaging earphone. Ultimately not as correct sounding as Chu, but for me it's much more engaging! It's very dynamic with nice clean bass and mids, while never letting that dynamic feel spoil the treble or make the sound muddy.
The KZ EDX Ultra face plate is ugly but I ordered it anyways. I wonder if i can use my same modding materials that I used for the CCA CRA (General foams and 500 mesh filter).
i knew ud like them! since u r someone who has a lot of sets, even expensive ones.. the upper treble presentation of the ultra compared to expensive iems is just uncanny..😅 not perfect, not totl level.. but tuning wise, KZ is defntly getting there.. :)
KZ EDX ultra is pretty good, more so on that price. I tried about 10 to 15 cheap iem on my local store and i can only take out the EDX ultra and the CCA CRA to me they are best at that price range. Funny enough, a lot of more expensive KZ sound worse than the EDX ultra. So one buying tip is if a KZ iem have a BA in it then the chance its sucks gonna be awfully high, KZ should stick with DD, thats what they do best
I found the EDX Ultra to be too splashy and aggresive in the upper treble region, it forces me to focus on the instrument overtones instead of me noticing it subtlety in the whole soundscape. It does not sound pleasant at all...EDA Balanced is still the best tuned KZ iem for me, that IEM handles my playlist without any splashiness or imbalance in the frequency, it really sounds good for my ears, Ultra on the other hand is giving me headache.
I agree the Splashiness was the issue on the CRA+ and although very much controlled on the Ultra it still shows itself occasionally , especially music with multiple instruments....busy tracks. Overall and the EDA Balanced is amazing I think that the Ultra was able to bring an overall package that's very complete. Anyway the main thing here is that KZ is finally tuning stuff as opposed to just throwing drivers into shell and hoping they play. I am so looking forward to them making a ZAS replacement.....or then a more TOTL single DD

@@akros9333 akros policia judiciaria . Lol. Well done mate. Just got the hook x yesterday. They like. Ok. Ess nothing special to me. A bit dried. I cover the vent in the nozzle with a y2 filter . Then after 5 min on sweat the driver started to suffer. Did not work. I guess that vent its for the piezo. The cable velcro is so strong that got stuck into the soft material of the cable that I pull it and the cable snap. I was like. F......... 5 min arrival and I already broke it. Lol.

Glad you like the Ultra.....it's definitely one of the nicer KZ earphones
its bright, but good. sometimes silibvant on some tracks, but it just sounds good and not muffled like CCA FLA.

these EQ very good. lol. I think single dd drivers are accurate to EQ than hybrids and planars.
