    100% wrong about the Colts' mistake.
    They DID fail Andrew Luck. Yes by the time he retired he had a decent O-line, but by then his body was already destroyed. Not giving him a decent O-line from the beginning cost them at least 5 more years of having frachise QB-level play from Luck.

    I'd say the Hopkins trade was the worst mistake for Houston, but Brett Kollman's video about how the Duane Brown trade forecasted their collapse makes me think that might've been the point where they fell off the cliff.

      If ownership would have fired him a few years earlier and acknowledged their mistake, I wouldn't call it a fault. Every hire is a gamble, but ownership chose to ride the horse until it died. That's on them.
      In hindsight I think we can acknowledge that a portion of the Belicheck success came from riding the right GOAT. I'm not willing to say all of it, the man HAS made some good moves. But it's a lot easier when you have the GOAT.

Our defense is top 5 (could be top 1-2 this season) so we're obviously not missing him. As for Fitzmagic, he's not anybodys long term answer at QB. He's fun to watch, but Tua is the future. The Colts severely mishandled Luck's injuries which exacerbated the issues which directly led to Luck retiring. The dolphins trading Fitzpatrick want bad either because they got good compensation and he didn't want to be there, when you're trying to build a new team and culture it doesn't make sense to keep around players who don't want to be there and could potentially hurt the team's budding chemistry.

Then saw an interview at the biggest Colts sports bar in Indy and the fans were pathetic. He was like I have really big shoes to fill and fans were like who cares you're our guy now. dude...there is a reason why...don't let your emotions cloud your judgement. When Lindsay came in...other teams stacked the box because they knew it was a run. He couldn't catch and was horrible in pass pro. We were essentially tipping our hand every time he came in. He also plays better in a zone scheme behind a fullback, which we don't run anymore of both. This was not a mistake...this was smart and It actually let Phillip go out and find a zone friendly team. As a Dolphins fans biggest mistake of the Steelers in the last 5 years was the week 17 of last season. Where they decided to rest all of their starters against the Browns. Which screwed over the Dolphins chance of making the playoffs as they needed a Browns lost. And also fucked over the Steelers who by resting all of their starters were basically telling the Browns yea we want to face you guys in the playoffs so were happy to lose this game. Which not that the Browns needed extra motivation but it probably gave them some to know that the Steelers viewed them as the matchup they wanted for the wild card round. Which resulted in the Browns kicking the Steelers teeth in the first half and cruising to an easy win.

Yet knowing they were playing the Jags, Texans and Bengals the 3 worst teams in the NFL. So it was painful to know that your team wins 10 games which even when only 6 teams made the playoffs usually means for sure your in. Yet the first season they expand it to 7 teams winning 10 games should have meant you had like a 95% of making it. Yet somehow you have 8 teams in the AFC win 10 or more games. Sucked even more seeing the NFC and knowing the 7-9 WFT made it along with the 8-8 Bears.

    I appreciate you providing the context for the Ravens biggest mistake. There was no way that we couldn't extend Joe Flacco and to the guy's credit he bet on himself and boy did it pay off big. The problem was everyone in the world knew that we had to pay him, along with Flacco's agent, and thus they went for the jugular money wise. What apparently Joe didn't understand was the reason that offense was so successful was the passing weapons around him. Because of Flacco's incredibly stupid deal, we lost both #1 and #2 Receivers, then Dennis Pitta basically injures himself out of the league (terrible luck obviously, but it just added to the problems) and now your three primary targets are gone. You elevate Jacoby Jones, a glorified kick returner and #3 receiver to #1 and it bombs horribly. Every quarterback needs to take a lesson from Tom Brady and realize that if you would like to be successful, rather than trying to get paid every single dollar possible, leave enough on the salary cap that the team can put the money to use getting you weapons or protecting your dumb ass.

    Yes. 1000% yes. But the bigger mistake might be letting Bob Quinn be the GM.
    If the culture was different in the Lions executive office they wouldn't have hired Quinn & maybe Megatron would have stuck around a bit longer. Instead, Megatron left and Quinn didn't add any substantial weapons to mitigate the departure. This is also the same year he could have drafted Tyrek Hill. We all knew Quinn wanted to fire Jim Caldwell and bring in his own HC but he couldn't while the Lions had some success. So he waited for the Lions to go 9-7, said that was not good enough, and brought in Patricia who went 6-10, 3-12-1, & 4-7 before getting fired with Quinn by the owner. So no Quinn, no Patricia.

    How was trading for Isaiah Wilson a mistake? Miami gave up a 2021 7th in return for a former 1st round pick and a 2022 7th. Plus, all of his guaranteed money was voided because of his suspension, meaning Miami spent nothing to acquire him. That 7th round pick they got from the trade was used to acquire Greg Little, a former 2nd round pick from Carolina who may start against NE if Austin Jackson doesn't recover from covid in time.
    To recap, 2021 7th -> Isaiah Wilson (cut) + 2022 7th -> Greg Little (2nd string LT)

    • @wisewolftony
      @wisewolftony 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Was also dumb for Bleacher Report to say trading Minkah was are worst move in the last 5 years. As WTF was Miami supposed to do in that situation. Minkah was saying he was going to become a locker room cancer for Miami and try and turn the players against Flores if he wasn't traded. And the only reason Minkah got upset and wanted to be traded was because Miami decided to trade Tunsil and Stills for two 1st round picks and 2nd rd pick which is to good of a deal to pass up. So Minkah got upset that the team was rebuilding. Yet even if we kept Tunsil and Stills no way were we then gonna magically make the playoffs just because we kept a solid LT and a middle of the road WR who isn't even in the league anymore. So Minkah was just being a big stupid baby who couldn't handle one down season in order for the team to be able to rebuild.
      So I don't understand how that was a mistake by Miami as the only choices for them. Were either to fire Flores to make Minkah happy which would have been so stupid. Or not trade a LT who was about to become a FA who would cost the team a shit ton to keep and a WR who was on the last legs of his career. That trade as well as Minkah trade. Has resulted in us getting Jackson hopefully Tunsil replacement at LT. Then Waddle who could be a future elite WR and FS Holland who could become Minkah replacement as he has a ton of play making ability who was the top ranked S in college before he opted out of the 2020 season. And has a ton of versatility with the ability to also play CB.
