Looking forward to this. My takeaway from this is his insight as a non-Chinese person. I fully understand everything on this channel because of my background with NYC Chinatown. My non-Asians friends won't. The difference in culture is the reason. At 16:30, he says he goes on to explain the culture and why certain incidents would happen. This really helps the audience to understand.
I was thinking how cool it would be if Peter decided to come out with a movie about his life. Would love to see that happen! What do you think? Let's keep our fingers crossed!
We should all explain to Mike what crowd funding is so he can make a GoFundme page....I'm 99% sure they'll rise enough for a biopic or movie or even a gangster tv drama about Chinatown gangs following the 70s to mid 90s the ending the series with a huge FBI bust and the main character behind bars and writing his story. Do t have to follow a real person but rather a fictional person based on everyone Mike knew and all the stories he saw and heard to create a story based on all that...that way no one gets get in trouble when telling the story.
In the early 1980s, I met KitJei at Peter Lugers Steakhouse. I didn't know who was at the dinner until they sat down. My girlfriend (at that time) asked me to escort a mutual female friend (C) of ours to drive her to dinner. This friend's younger sister (S) was dating Kit Jei, and they were meeting another gang leader to talk "business."" I don't remember much of the conversations. I just remember that after dinner, we drove back in separate cars to Mott Street to take leftovers to feed the "little dogs" (lian jeis) as Peter would say. That's what I remember.
Can't wait to grab this one after the holidays. Pre ordering boxing day 🤩🤩😍

Interesting perspective. Telling the story, behind telling the story.
I pre ordered the book back in May on Amazon. Can’t wait to read it! There will be photos also, right?
They should send you an autographed, pre-order edition. You're their #1 fan. You watch and comment on every video.

Now let’s tell the story of how you met Everette and what’s his background.
That story will be covered in the first 11 pages of the book.
