You need to respect yourself before you can respect others l; you can’t give what you don’t have, so if you do not respect yourself, there’s no way you’re going to be able to respect others. It’s that simple; treat people the way you would like to be treated.

Self respect is the best form of respect. Once you value and respect yourself, other people will be forced to respect you too. Plus I think we should pay attention to how other people need to be respected too.

Very very very very good advice.
I try to follow these rules, some I do much better than others, such as controlling my emotions.
Know when to stop talking, listen more than you talk.
Stand up for yourself and what you believe to be right.
Compliment others, and take full responsibility for your actions.

Some people can’t stop talking, and it’s normally those who have only boring things to drone on about. Can’t they see the glazed look in the eyes of others desperate to escape?
The other thing I find so peculiar is how angry some become if you say something they disagree with. For Gods sake, we all have a right to our own opinions. Mind you these days, it’s the done thing to find everything offensive, and free speech is in the past, I.e. the good old days. Enough said!

@Life's lessons i commiserate and understand for I,too, am going through with a stark similar deceit from my entire family (parents and siblingS); a very bitter bloody truth to swallow. Though I cry myself to sleep, I am not filled with self-disgust when I self-reflect. I am not preaching religion but in my religion, it is stated that we will not recognize anyone on the Day of judgement. Now, I know why. These are all earthly relationships and Life is a Divine test. As long as your own action stems out of honestly, self-respect and purity, You are good and in hereafter. All that matters is what God thinks of you no other as fallible as you and I. Stay strong and blessings!!! 💚💫☘️

@Life's lessons my niece turned 13 this October and for the 1st time, I refrained from calling her bc I should respect her too and not put up a pretense. It hurts but they must now know abt the shattered bond btw her mother and I plus I just could not take anymore gaslighting from the adults while I gave my all to both my niece and nephew. I.e. - I was reprimanded for introducing them to Michael Jackson but later the entire room erupted in expletives and physical violence in front of those innocent angels :(( and I earnestly love children...they ar my heroes and a reflection of the Divine. XOXOXO & bijous!!!

Where I work, there is often little to no change of attitudes and or effort into working as a unit of workers in a warehouse. I just wish people would respect each other better. After watching this video, I can think of a handful of people that are extremely rude, who are being rude, on a subconscious level, who keep going w/o thinking of the other person, and these are also the same people, who our supervisors could walk over. Something I think about a lot is the second half of Proverbs 3:5, which states, lean not on your own understanding, and I'm not intentionally taking this phrase out of context. In order to grow and get where you need to go, you need to put your trust in something, or someone else.

The best way I know to command respect, especially with bitchy women, is to dump a big bucket of cold water over their heads. It's harmless, it's legal, it's fun, it definitely gets their attention and it gets your point across. They'll never bulls--t around with you again. This is especially effective when done indoors. I'm short and the short people don't get the same respect as the taller ones do. If you want real respect, be tall
