The Maxima's days are numbered as it is, I'd love if they'd make just one more generation...one that ditches the CVT, _and_ has SR and SR Platinum models with AWD.
Never have understood why these car manufactures include Apple Carplay and not Android Auto. Android maintained its position as the leading mobile operating system worldwide in March 2021, controlling the mobile OS market with a 71.93 percent share. The majority of people own a Android smartphone, so it would make sense to include Android Auto.

I had a 98 Altima that I bought with 40K miles and had for 350K miles. I gave it to a friend and it finally died at a little over 500K miles. I have always wanted another Nissan or Infiniti product, but they have sucked for so long. I do see them making more efforts to be better, but I'm still skeptical.
I can't agree more, that CVT is just a downfall for this car. Love everything else about it. A manual would be amazing, but there's no market for that nowadays as much as I'd like one. Great video as always. Can't wait for more project videos.

nissan needs to retire the CVT. it's good for mpgs, to an extent per vehicle, but it's just god awful. I want more power, nothing like a damn mustang, but easily like 250+, i'll happily sacrifice mpg for power.

the CVT is not that bad there are not too many 300 hp V6s out there. Me I hate those 2 liter turbos Ill take the CVT 300 hp V6 any day over a turbo 4 banger
The funny part is that some of the first cars I saw with a floating roof were the Nissan Maxima and Murano, then everyone else started doing it. Now it just looks worn out.

Beautiful car but no frameless mirror? My Mom's Beetle has one for almost 20k less than this car. Nissan really needs to update their technology and ditch the CVT. Their engines and driving dynamics are still chef's kiss!
Gitch the CVT and put an 8spd auto in it. the CVT is just not reliable and sadly, they just needto stop. They dont last. Great design and luxuty though! that MPG can be easily increased with a beter transmission. Tis is basically a 350z fwd sedan.
They did in their newer models but the Maxima is one of Nissan's older designs at the moment so it hasn't received the updates that some of the recently redesigned models in Nissan's lineup have received.
If I was the CEO of Nissan then that CVT transmission would be long gone I would probably switch it for maybe a seven speed automatic just not a CVT like come on
You dislike a brand new car that you own? Did you buy it before even test driving it? How does someone spend that much money on anything without first knowing if they’re going to like it or not? Seems like you just made an uneducated choice.
i rented a 2020 Max SL, i loved that thing it drove great and sport mode made it a monster. i’m sure it would smoke an R/T any day. but the infotainment system sucked and the plastic window pilar flew right off the front passenger side of it on the Turnpike lol … it had plenty of power and was really comfortable i just don’t think these will age well …

@@bobert866 Only time the Charger R/T is faster is if you're flooring the car from a stop. Otherwise, the Maxima is faster and lets not compare it to a Q50 lol, even the Hybrid Q50 would beat a Charger.
It’s a fancy Altima. No bigger in interior size. If your taller than 5’ 8”, it’s hard to get into. The previous body style was much better and bigger. I wouldnt buy one again.
@@trent7080 not sure if trolling or not but I bought a 2017 Altima precisely because it was a midsize car that fit well. It’s not an Escalade but I like it a lot for fit.

The floating roof is been there, done that. Just like hexagonal grills it has to go. BUT the panoramic sun roof? Yes please.

HOPEFULLY THE next gen maxima will use the zf 9 speed, id rather deal with that transmission than the timebomb jaco cvt.
