    Hype is real, amigos! This is Guitar 2.0 ! My Boden Fusion nx blows traditional guitars away ! If you like your old guitars, don't try a Strandberg

    and is there a big difference between EGS Pro 7 tremolo and Strandberg EGS Rev 7 tremolo bridge like in model Strandberg Boden Classic NX 6 Trem BK RW ??? , in general, I want one with a tremolo bridge and a dark fingerboard, some rosewood or ebony at a similar price because I don't know why some of them cost 2-3 thousand more in Polish money

    Yup, give it up for Strandberg to reduce features ask for a higher price and still get people to buy it.

      I was only making the comparison to clarify the differences. I'm not associated with them, so I have no interest in making anyone buy anything, but if someone is thinking that's worth it then more power to them and hopefully my video helped them make the choice (or changed their mind).

    Thanks Julian, excellent comparisons. You demonstrated really well the trem system, tuning stability and sustain. Also, you are one of the rare reviewers who understand how to compare by playing the same exact thing, back to back and no talk over it.

      Thank You! I've tried to make the most buyer's friendly comparison, something I was looking after back when I was buying my first Strandberg. But obviously here I was talking about the differences between Strandbergs, so it's more of a "Strandberg's owner guide to NX" haha

    Hi, I played a strandberg fusion once, I was suprised by the lack of pull - up range on the tremolo compared to the gotoh on my Ibanez AZ.

    • @juliankonowalski
      @juliankonowalski  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, unfortunately it is quite limited compared to some other floating trems, but on my older standard I was able to pull up 2, sometimes even 3 semitones (you can see me do it in some of my videos). I don't know what caused that small range on the nx, both trems look very similar and had pretty much the same setup (geight, mode etc).

    I am between NX Boden vs Standard. The thing I love Solid body more than a Chambered. But I don't dig up these stock pickups. So maybe take standard and replace them w Fishmans

    • @juliankonowalski
      @juliankonowalski  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure! Standard series is a great base for mods. A lot of people change out the pickups, send them off for custom finish jobs etc and they turn out awesome! I wanted to refret mine with TT frets, since there were no TT strandies that appealed to me (both visually and in terms of hardware).

    Hi Julian great video.....stay the Tremolo good in tune and is It easy to change the strings with them or may sometimes horrible like by Floyed Rose Systems?

    • @juliankonowalski
      @juliankonowalski  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It depends on Your experience with this particular trem and floating bridges overall. When I got my first Strandberg, despite having experience with FR, the bridge just "exploded" during a string change. haha But on my second attempt I was able to execute everything correctly and it never happened again!
      To say it shortly - once You get the hang of it the string changes become much easier and faster. Also, this bridge is simpler to lock in place, so there's no need to look for 9V batteries around the house! haha

    Man i appreciate you so much with that video, i am about to buy my first strandberg and there is guy at my local guitar center who aint gimme answer what is the real difference about em. I love baked maple necks so bad and with new NX features i was thinking about it and was kinda afraid of not buying this one. Now i am 100% sure im gonna stick with older one bcuz all of these new furniture is not a big deal. Btw neck joint is only one great feature i guess, but im fine with it, u can also ask some proper luthier to fix it but yeah, not a big deal. Thank you so much again!

    FYI...the nut string locks are so you can cut them, then loosen and back them up a bit...so the ends don't poke you :O) They should have explained it. Also, my experience says the main difference on the newer ones is a real lack of quality control now.

    I have watched a bunch of videos about the NX models, but none of them went into as much detail as you did about the neck joint--which for me, is the most important new feature. So much so, that I just bought a NX Standard to replace my older Standard because the older joint just blocks my thumb too much. BTW, that Gibson headstock dig was *mwah* *chef's kiss*

      Hey, sorry for a late reply. I'm glad You enjoyed the vid! I wanted to take a very detailed approach, because those were the exact same things I wish I knew before buying a strandy. Happy that someone else found it helpful too!

  • @aaronmak1208
    @aaronmak1208 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Appreciate the video! Know theres a majority of people, including myself who are a little disappointed with the NX lineup. Swapping out maple cap (for maple veneer) and roasted maple (for kiln dried maple) while keeping MSRP the same was not a good move - from a consumer standpoint. Would love it if they brought back some of the features from the 2017-2021 models.

    • @juliankonowalski
      @juliankonowalski  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I totally get You! Although I don't mind the maple veneer (I think I even prefer the looks of it to both of my regular standards), seeing them drop roasted maple was kind of a bummer. I don't know how it affects stability yet, but hopefully, that aspect doesn't change, cause' my roasted maple standard is untouchable when it comes to neck stability.

    • @EvilDragon666
      @EvilDragon666 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Personally I'm more of a fan that they're reducing material waste by not roasting the necks. And as for neck stability, of course truss rod is way more important than the neck being roasted or not.

    • @aaronmak1208
      @aaronmak1208 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@EvilDragon666 reducing waste is of course great from a theoretical standpoint but pricing has not changed at all. It would be acceptable if the company developed a better process or material (which would justify the higher price point), but it's literally less effort for Strandberg to procure regular maple. In addition, roasted maple has been a mainstay of the brand since the beginning and provides a snappier sharper attack. It's almost as if Porsche decided to manufacture and sell their heritage vehicles with synthetic carbon fiber and pleather without changing the MSRP. The community would be in an uproar.

    • @EvilDragon666
      @EvilDragon666 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@aaronmak1208 I'm not convinced at all that neck material will affect the tone so much. It's 99% in the pickup. But let's not go there, please :)
      My Boden+ NX 8 TT arrives very soon, mind you. :D

    • @EvilDragon666
      @EvilDragon666 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh and also - there was and still is a global pandemic out there. Everything became more expensive for everyone, so not using roasted maple necks might also quite likely be a way to KEEP the price at the same point it was prior to pandemic...

    Hello. I am going to buy Strandberg Boden Original NX6.
    From several people I heard about problems with poor quality electronics, poor soldering, problems with the bridge setting and with the input jack.
    Can you say something about this?
    Thank you!

    • @juliankonowalski
      @juliankonowalski  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, I haven't had any QC/setup issues whatsoever. The input jack tends to unscrew itself, but a tiny bit of thread lock solved the problem for me! When it comes to setup, as I said in the previous replies, it takes some practice to do it right but other than that it should be a smooth process. The only real problem I had was that I got the wrong (lefty) trem arm! :D But a quick email to Thomann was enough to get the right arm shipped to me at no extra cost!
