After hearing so many songs and videos of Queen songs, seeing some kind of an interview for the first time, this seems like an experience from another world. It's so fascinating to see them answer questions and play songs unofficially.
Actually he was told NOT to sing by his doctor, because he was not 100%. This stands to so show how awesome Freddy Mercury was, even more so knowing this. He's the greatest for many reasons and each of them as well. Queen is out of his world. ❤️
What's amazing is that Freddie had been sick, and his doctor advised him to not sing. I'm so glad he ignored the doctor. Other than several high end notes, Freddie delivered a flawless performance, and on those notes, he just changed the melody a bit. He was in total command that day. I've only watched their Live Aid performance about 200 times. 😉
I never realized how accurate Bohemian Rhapsody(film) was in regards to this rehearsal. I thought the scene in the film was more like the type of thing where they made some generic rehearsal before Live Aid. But I just saw this video and they’re wearing the same clothes in the scene in the film as they are here.. Forgive me if I’m merely saying something everyone else already knew. But I thought that was pretty cool.
In the actual concert freddie didn't say build your muscles as your body decades in Hammer to fall, I was just thinking he didn't sing for a vocal break, but in this he sings it, and in the concert you can see his lips moving with his mic down, so he might of just forgotten to bring his mic up, random topic I just wanted to see if anyone knew.
In the concert, that lyric came right as he finished dancing with the cameraman. I think it was just a spontaneous thing and not so much that he was saving his voice. 😀
@@adonaiyah2196 The Live Aid outfit was seen by billions live in 1985, billions more for the Bohemian Rhapsody promotion material and movie, and it's generally one of the outfits you think of when you think of Freddie Mercury. The rehearsal outfit is really only seen for 1 short ass scene in BoRhap and a pretty rare rehearsal tape that only a couple thousand have only tracked down. It's just logically less iconic than Live Aid.

Great rehearsal...Freddie looks soooo happy here...he had met his partner, Jim Hutton by then..he’s wearing a wedding ring on his right hand, just like Jim did..they were so lucky to have met one another..and Jim stayed with Freddie until he died...and really looked after him 🤩
It’s a Yamaha CP80 - a small grand piano with actual strings amplified by a large pickup built within the piano. Weighs a lot less than an actual grand and can be moved in two relatively small flightcases. A lot of bands used these live in that era, they were a lot more reliable in transport than their acoustic counterparts.
Wow, he and Michael Jackson are totally two different persons. Fred is more of a comedian, while Jack is just the quiet guy ya know, also Freddie actually gives his best for the rehearsal while Michael barely tries but still nails the performance.
@@KJunior007 your comment makes no sense…the rehearsal was a week before Live Aid…everyone believes that they own their own the truth…..do your research😉
@@josephinemonahan915 How does it not make sense, I’m pointing out what my man above said an that is that Freddie performed better vocally he’s singing the notes and some with more tarnished phrasings which is very clear to see in the video you can disagree if you want, but then it’s just plain to see that your mind is fixated on live aid and you can’t see any other way being better or near it.

Brian: “Well It all comes down to whether or not you can play really.”
Freddie: “hold my beer.”
I love the confidence on Brian's face as he says that line.
March 2022 and I was working in this theatre today. Just had to have a look at the rehearsal footage. Still amazing.

3:55 Brian and Roger THE MERCH PLUGGGG
it's really cool to see them making a interview that actually talk about their music and, in this case, their preparation for the show
"It all comes down to if you can play or not, really..." And the rest is history.
YEP !
They produced what is arguably the greatest live rock performance ever...
or as Elton John put it "You bastards, you stole the show!"
Oh, this is GREAT! Never seen this before - I saw the interview but not the rehearsal!!!
The psychedelic effect, 12:43, fascinates me! Freddie is in perfect physical-vocal shape!

It’s crazy that Queen still decided to remaster the footage for their series or just had a better quality hidden from us.

Interesting if they have played rock section, would Freddie have hit C5?
With his his throat problem being advised not to play he probably would’ve played it safe but we will never know
Mr Farenheit his throat problem didn’t stop him from WATC C5
Роман Зарума fair enough so maybe but he did have a couple of flubs near the end of the WATC but again we will never know
Probably yes, since he hit in we are the champions.

wish they didnt make the cuts towards the end cutting the songs and transitions..
it's funny how john is dressed in what freddie wore in the actual live aid
The piano sounds different than normal.
Kind of digital to me

It was a single camera shoot, more or less taped to be B-roll footage.
