  • Very nice interview from 1985. This was during Queen Works tour.
The quality is not very good but it's the most complete version there is.
    Enjoy

For all those who put Molly down, Freddie rarely did long interviews yet he did 2 with Ian (Molly) Meldrum. He and Molly got on well and this would have been one of the reasons that he took the time out to do this interview for Countdown. Plus, both were gay and mixed in similar circles and had friends in common like Elton. Molly is no nonsense and doesn't try to 'please' in his interviews. He is also very interested in the music in all his interviews, not shitty gossip. I think Freddie liked that. He is way more relaxed than in other interviews I have seen and spent the entire day with the Countdown crew.

Freddie is one of the uniquely gifted ones. If anything, he could've benefited from vocal coaching, as opposed to straight-up teaching. Coaching helps refine and maintain what you already have. You need teaching when you're first learning the techniques. Freddie's voice is hypnotic, speaking or singing.

The parts with "Simon Ferocious" and "they ran into their frocks" makes me laugh every time. 😂 Also he's kind to other people and humble when it comes to himself (although he really is Gods gift to mankind! Imo👌) Thank you so much for finding and sharing this video!

What an excellent interview!. Like others I've only seen snippets of this but the full interview gives you insight into Freddie''s thoughts about Queen which is in perfect harmony with the other band members he conveys their individuality the cohesiveness and their love for the group and their fans.On what he thinks about critics "I don't give a damn about them" hit the target "Its the public that buy our records they're important" Bang on! His thoughts/answers to all Mollys questions. I especially loved the off camera banter where Freddie's looking for drink refill Molly accedes puts Freddies order in then wants a scotch & coke himself haha then Freddie offers Molly a cigarette like they're mates ( prolly are/were) pure gold!, also loved how Freddie ended with self labelled "musical prostitute" bloody brilliant this is a trip down memory lane for me the whole interview is A++++ enjoyed this from beginning to end wonderful Cheers!

It's nice to hear the Simon Ferocious story in its entirety. People were making it seem like Freddie bullied him. He was actually very kind and friendly. Could you imagine how badass a Pistols and Queen collaboration would've been? It's the Pistols that were narrowminded and too good for anyone who wasn't like them. The antithesis of punk.
