  • Many of us spend considerable time in the backcountry alone. So we need to be able to face whatever challenges might arise. Today we're going to take a look at some of the things I always have with me in the field. We'll talk about emergency survival gear and really take a look at the versatility of the things we have with us.

Thanks for this video. I too had been wanting a straight walled pot with a lid that seals. Thanks to your video the search is over!

Tysvm for this video. I love the fact you come right to the point and not hym hawin' around. I have a 4 to 5 day Camping trip planned for Oct, 2015 in New York. I am working on accumulating my gear. This is new but your instructions are easy to follow and you don't let the novice, (as is myself) feel stupid. The term Backcountry College says it. A place to learn. I am handicapped and use a walker but my buddy is taking to the trails and finding ones that are fairly walkable. Thank you again and happy trekking.

Good video. I would recommend a good hat that covers your ears. Also, remember that most people get lost by walking away from camp without their pack, so what you have with you AT ALL TIMES is critically important.

Good common sense videos. Beautiful country you live in. Camped in Idaho once near Donnley. Loved it. Stay safe. Bruce P.S. I'm from southern NV.
