Granger's analogy is spot on. While walking down the street one day a Corrupt Senator (that may now be considered to be redundant) was tragically hit by a car and died.
His soul arrives in heaven and is met by St. Peter at the entrance.
"Welcome to heaven," says St. Peter. "Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem. We seldom see a high official around these parts, you see, so we're not sure what to do with you."
"No problem, just let me in," says the Senator.
"Well, I'd like to, but I have orders from the higher ups. What we'll do is have you spend one day in hell and one in heaven. Then you can choose where to spend eternity."
"Really?, I've made up my mind. I want to be in heaven," says the Senator.
"I'm sorry, but we have our rules."
And with that St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down to hell.
The doors open and he finds himself in the middle of a green golf course. In the distance is a clubhouse and standing in front of it are all his friends and other politicians who had worked with him.
Everyone is very happy and in evening dress. They run to greet him, shake his hand, and reminisce about the good times they had while getting rich at the expense of the people. They played a friendly game of golf and then dine on lobster, caviar and the finest champagne.
Also present is the devil, a very friendly guy who is having a good time dancing and telling jokes. They are all having such a good time that before the Senator realizes it, it is time to go. Everyone gives him a hearty farewell and waves while the elevator rises.
The elevator goes up and the door reopens in heaven where St. Peter is waiting for him, "Now it's time to visit heaven...”
So, 24 hours passed with the Senator joining a group of contented souls moving from cloud to cloud, playing the harp and singing. They have a good time and, before he realizes it, the 24 hours have gone by and St. Peter returns.
"Well, then, you've spent a day in hell and another in heaven. Now choose your eternity."
The Senator reflects for a minute, then he answers: "Well, I would never have said it before, I mean heaven has been delightful, but I think I would be better off in hell."
So St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down to hell...
Now the doors of the elevator open and he's in the middle of a barren land covered with waste and garbage.
He sees all his friends, dressed in rags, picking up the trash and putting it in black bags as more trash falls to the ground.
The devil comes over to him and puts his arm around his shoulders.
"I don't understand," stammers the Senator. "Yesterday I was here and there was a golf course and clubhouse, and we ate lobster and caviar, drank champagne, and danced and had a great time. Now there's just a wasteland full of garbage and my friends look miserable. What happened?"
The devil smiles at him and says,
"Yesterday we were campaigning. Today, you voted.."

That's an interesting comment about "division" coming from someone who might be considered a privilege person (white and male) here in the USA. I love the US greatly, but not everyone experiences America like you. To certain degree, the media is somewhat responsible for that "division". This election results are not "fraud" and I would encourage every American to accept this change. Yes, there may be disappoint, but I don't think it's in our nation best interest to say this election was a "fraud". I know that this is your youtube channel, and I'm sorry if I offended anyone.

      @chrissy4500 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

@@RevolutioXxNx Hi, I just wanted to comment on your post. The election is over but many people like you have stated this exact sentiment about Trump. I agree he does not carry himself as any other President I have ever seen. Trump isn't a politician and he doesn't have that "polished" act down. He is a shrewd businessman who is used to dealing with competition and he doesn't like it when someone attacks him, (which the MSM and liberal left do daily) so he responds in this way in which we Americans aren't used to. Now I also have watched a "polished businessman" speak sweetly, hug a baby, and turn around and take a bribe, make underhanded deals that affect the USA, and basically sell out their country,. (BUT THET WERE VERY NICE TO PEOPLE, DIDN'T BULLY ANYONE AND SPOKE WELL).What I look at is what the person's platform is and does it line up with what I want for my country. Does the person I want for President support the life of the unborn? Does the person I want for President like to get us in New wars? What about supporting Israel? How about illegal immigration especially during a pandemic? The person may have personality traits that don't appeal to me, but if they get the job done that is all I care about! ( I have had a few bosses like that. It wasn't easy to accept at first, but did they run a good company!)

As a Canadian, I won't comment or pick a side, I will however will support my neighbor to the south (and northwest) We are friends, allies & trading partners that are the envy of the world, no other country shares a wide open boarder with no threat to each other, we have been peaceful for over 200 years and the fact that we can share in our success and work towards solutions when there are disputes without war or pyhsical retaliation says a lot, we share many things in common but are very different countries in social, economic & political structure. While our visions are pretty much the same, our way of doing it is different. Don't get bogged down in Social Media Fog, those that voted did their duty to the Country, Freedom can be expensive sometimes, Democracy can be expensive sometimes, but your Country is worth it, hope all the best from your neighbor to the North!

I agree with you that our country isn’t as divided as the media wants us to believe, and I agree with your opinion on the necessity of our differences, however I do believe that there are a lot of people on the extreme end of both sides that have a much bigger voice and influence than they ever did before due to the rise of social media, and we need to educate our citizens and especially our children on the necessity of staying off of social media and fighting back against the massive rise of big tech. Social media has a lot of positives but the far reaching negatives need to be controlled.

20 or 30 or more candidates?
The winner might be the candidate who wins only 1/5 or less of the votes.
We are a Republic. We have a Representative government. The 2 party system works best.
Example? Ross Perot ran as 3rd party candidate and siphoned votes from Bush Sr to allow Clinton to win with less than a majority of the votes!

Really needed this tonight. Yes, we need the Red and the Blue, just not all the crooks that go with it. Something has to change before the next election, voting wise that is. I would prefer poll voting with an ID, and mail in only for Military and those with health issues. We don't need to go through this again!

    • @kathrynhunt7920
      @kathrynhunt7920 3 ปีที่แล้ว +12

Mail in votes are just as legal as going to the poll to vote. The only thing that needs to change regarding voting, is the presidents comments. It is not ok for our leader to say mail in votes are illegal and associate mail in votes with negativity. It is also not ok for the president to prematurely say he has won and to stop counting votes (and keep counting votes in Nevada/Arizona). Each state has their own rules regarding mail in votes. It is our right to vote, so therefore all legal votes need to be counted. We knew when this pandemic started that there would be more mail in ballots than ever before, so the time needs to be taken to insure all legal votes are counted for.

And that offends you apparently, but being politically correct doesn't work anymore being polite doesn't work anymore. @@rowdybroomstick1216 no, the press conferences he had saying he won and he is going to go to the Supreme Court to stop the votes from being counted is what stopped the votes. The volunteers who were counting felt threatened by the ambush of Trump supporters banging on windows and yelling at them. It was deemed unsafe for them to continue voting so it was paused. I just think it is funny that In the states he was winning he said to stop the votes but when he is losing in Nevada and Arizona it’s, “continue to count!”. And to answer your response regarding dumping of votes, the president threatened people who voted by mail and told his supporters to not vote by mail. So all these votes coming in now are due to mail in ballots, which are still very much legal votes. These comments he has made this week has caused republicans to voice their opinions and say that Trump should not have said he had won already and that mail in ballots are illegal. If you think the comments he has made he’s entire presidency qualify him as being fit for president, then you need to re-evaluate your standards. He does not talk like someone who should be our leader.
Ps: being polite should also be what we strive for. Being a bully is what the president is and has made a majority his supporters become. This fight, is not something we need to be abusivo about. It comes down to decency in the human race and understanding and respecting one another. We have all lost the focus of that. This country has gone to shit the pat four years and the president has only divided us further. Also would love to hear how you think the democrats have broken the law?

From Canada here....loved this video and the explanation of America. I think social media has amplified the voices of the extreme left and right, and to your point, over-hyping the "division" amongst Americans. Frankly, we are seeing this in Canada as well. At the end of the day, I feel you need a leader that can represent both sides without falling into the trap of feeding the hype-driven hungry media. Internally, you have a system of checks and balances that takes into consideration both sides of the political spectrum - gotta have both for the greater good of the country. Keep up the great work on the videos!

My wife works for the state, and it is literally unsafe for her to express her views. But her co-workers can express their views and even their hatred for those on the right. The division is real, and yes, it is worse than it has been in the past.

Soooo, you are right, we are not “more divided than ever in history”, however, we ARE more divided than ever in my lifetime and that’s what the struggle is. The ideology of either side is so far left or right that very few people are finding common ground. Socialism and capitalism are opposing views and do not exist together. When we hear of what’s going on in Portland and even some of the things going on in Austin, it seems we are not too far off from civil war. To answer your question, I feel awful about what’s going on. I am not looking forward to the mess we are leaving for our kids & grandkids. But I get up in the morning, say my prayers, get dressed and go back to work. I smile at strangers (although no one can see through the mask), and I help my neighbors, because those are the things I can control. That is what I can do to show my granddaughters a better world. Oh, and I take them mudding when I get the chance too. God Bless. Yee Yee!!

So well said, Granger! Me being German I have always admired the democracy of the USA and I am with you on the clear position that the different opinions and positions of republicans and democrats are needed to form and live a democracy and a whole country! It is not the political position that is dividing the country, this is forming it. But it is the way of articulation of the position, the way of how you talk that creates division. In Germany we have seen how far it can get a country when you follow polemic and populistic speach in leading a country. Over the last 4 years I was fearing that the USA was getting onto that road while I was listening to the political speach from the USA. No matter who will be the next president, I think that it is important that the US people get away from this polemic and popular speach and return to truth, open discussion and real important policy in order to avoid something similar to what has killed millions of people all over the world in that really dark period of German history!
