    You are wrong. Basmati has glycemic index equal to brown rice. Which is lower than normal white rice. Why you giving wrong info to people. Kindly correct it. Basmati is low gi index food. Which makes it better than other rice.

      Parboiled rice is not brown rice, parboiled rice is staple in east Indian states like west Bengal, Orissa, Assam, this has very low GI in 30s to 40s based on variety, and the parboiling process of rice grain makes the starch gelatinous and infuses the vitamins and minerals from external skin to endosperm...our forefathers in Bengal, Assam, Orissa region had been eating this for centuries with very good health output, only recent few decades they started polishing the rice which even removes the endosperm to make the rice look more glossy and attractive and convert them into simple unhealthy starch, like the raw white rices like Sona masuri, basmati, etc (which are undoubtedly refined carbs)
      As a native, suburban Bengali I still prefer eating thick, light yellow, parboiled rice grains which are heavy, one can't eat more because not simple to digest, and has nutrients...1 cup rice is enough to keep a moderate activity person enough energized and active...

      Brown rice has too much Arsenic. Japanese and chinese are not stupid and they live longer. They eat only white rice not brown. Apart from high Arsenic , Brown rice has antinutrients in it. Ek trend chalta hai sabhi uske peech andho ki trah bhagte hai !

      @@nw3877 btw i wrote this comment 8 months ... If I eat rice then I used to eat basmati rice only ... But now I quit carbs and on keto diet lost around 30% of my weight... Absolutely high energy level and no brain fog
