They left off some great knockouts. Gustafson vs Teixeira, Rakic’s brutal head kick KO of Jimi Manuwa, and Jan stopping Rockhold.
Crazy horse 🐎 silva Lololol

@@herkyj It was beautiful to watch, but you couldn’t help but feel bad for Glover. I thought that KO would retire him, and now he is the champ.
yeah but at least they got like 6 with the ice man
Plus AJ ko Glover
Silva vs Griffin was the most amazing performance I've ever seen. Silva was in the matrix that night.
bitch please silva roided to the max and handpicking his fights. the ko looks very sus aswell. ko from a jab by a middleweight? dana had money on silva id bet

The first biggest name in the UFC. The buildup for the first Tito fight was massive
Hell yea my first favorite fighter even before Anderson Silva.
He was good for ufc at that time, till he fought the fighters in pride.....

Prime Anderson was a thing a beauty. Also, Rashad Evans comes out of retirement this Friday at Eagle FC vs Gabriel Checco.(edit: Rashad won by decision)
Also, going into his fight with Rashad Evans, Sean Salmon had a record of 9-1.
He ended his career with a record of 18-21.

4)rashads ko of randy
5) chael ko jones' toe
Anderson Silva entering The Matrix is one of the greatest UFC moments of all time!!!😁

The Machida Era
I didn’t know machida was a lightweight (
You must have been an avid shogun hater and leg kicks don win fights whiner back in the day
He is a legit Karate master. I enjoyed watching Karo Parisian use Judo masterfully as well. The good old days.
Jon Jones is by far the best lightweight...If we're talking light heavyweights I gotta go with McGregor hands down
Rashad at 2:35 that was one of the cleanest fastest and most accurate ko punches period. The term right on the button gets thrown around alot, but that was legit right on the button. The off button
Lol I cant believe hes fighting in Eagle FC this weekend, Hope he isnt killed.
It was a max power punch that landed right on the button. You couldn't get a more clean, picture perfect punch then that. The sound it made when it connected was disgusting, it looked like Chuck died right then and there.
perfect timing and precision
@@madgavin7568 literally lol

Man that jiri ko on Reyes was something to behold. That whole fight was insane.
Jiri really sent Reyes to the Shadow Realm
That knockout for me is hard to watch man. That shit was intense
jan sent him there, jiri sent him to shadower realm
@@ChrisRashaadmusic nah bro. Spinning elbow knockout is the one you want to watch. Cause it will be a long time before you see another one
That sean salmon KO too, dudes legs started shaking after the follow up hit. I feel like follow up shots to KO'd opponents should be fined, as fighters you know when a guy is out cold.
Looking back on it now, sadly I think that KO completely destroyed Reyes' chin and any chances of Reyes making a comeback. Dude got utterly flat-lined by Ryan Spann in the first round, he will never be the same.
Shogun, Rampage, Wanderlei, Liddell, Rashad Evans, Lyoto, Forrest Griffin… what an era for LHW it was, so competitive and full of talent. Until Jon Jones came along and decimated the division.
He really ain't face none of the people you just named lol
the most prestigious belt in ufc history we can say
@@clozvega1423 what do you mean? Jon Jones beat Shogun, Rampage, Rashad Evans and Lyoto…
No doubt about it, Jones waded through a who's who list of all the greats back then, and made it look easy. JJ is the GOAT without a doubt.

You know Silva is an absolute monster when he’s a middleweight yet has one of the best light heavyweight knockouts of all time. That’s 🥶
Why he was never given a shot at Chuck Lidell and the 205lb belt back then, I will never understand.

3:25 I love how Shogun had to stop himself, because apparently, the referee was in shock also. 😂
Lucky this guy is decent, some other fighters would of just kept going
That Anderson Silva knockout was the most badass thing I've ever seen
Prime Anderson was a different breed. He is a showboat who showcases excitement in every single min. Love watching his fights even now. One of the most underrated Goats in UFC history.
He's not underrated at all.
@@madgavin7568 people never bring him up in the goat debate when he has the most title defenses
@@CT-yr8ph Sadly his legacy is tainted due to consecutive losses in his late career and failed drug tests. Those will, at minimum damper your status in the GOAT conversation. At worst it'll take you out it altogether because popping for PEDs (especially more than once) carries the stigma of drug cheat.
You can argue Silva was past his prime, never the same from the leg break and all that, but his late career is part of his history. For as electric and spectacular Silva was in his prime, the era we all want to remember, his sharp decline is also part of his legacy too. That is the price fighters pay when they don't know, or don't want to quit; their legacies get tarnished.
@@CT-yr8ph yeah sad that people still call him use roids before he was 40 silva in his prime was magical

Watching machida walk in with full karate gear and karate kicking fighters In the face was so fun to watch
machida is a legend
I can’t believe they didn’t include Lord Uncle Chael P Sonnen taking Jon’s toe and his 0 in the same night. Undefeated and undisputed 🐐
Jon Jones defeated Chael, what are you talking about? Chael didn't break his toe, the toe snapped as Jones was ground and pounding Chael.
@@ԷմմանուելԷզենվանՄեղր Bro I think you need to rewatch the fight because it clearly shows Chael destroying Jon's arms and upperbody with his headbutts and then Chael winning via corner retirment

The Evans vs Salmon ko is still one of the scariest in the history of the UFC. For those of us old enough to remember watching it live on Spike TV, the ko occurred, commercial break, post fight interview with Rashad, another commercial break, Joe and Goldie doing the typical Fight Night wrap up, and as the credits were rolling Sean was still starched on the mat surrounded by medical staff. Literally the building was clear of fans and he was still out stiff, yikes.
Wasn’t it at heavyweight ?
probably because he hit him clean like 3 times after he hit the ground lol
@@pablopenguin13 thanks for mentioning those hits, they were so unnecessary
I like how the black guys take as many extra shots as they can get in on unconscious opponents. Total class acts.
@@darrellbarfz8666 that’s a huge generalization
Anderson Silva make the history with this fucking awesome performance.
Still gets dominated by Jon
One of his best lines :
Mike Goldberg: “that is the Karate Kid”
Excited Joe Rogan: “that is!!!”
😂
Joe was even in disbelief with how good that was ☠️
I was genuinely scared for Dom after that spinning elbow
Seriously though, the way his lifeless body just hit the canvas
Yeah, I felt bad for him too. Two bad losses in a row - bad TKO vs Jan where his face and nose were busted, and a bad KO vs Jiri where not only his face was busted but he completely lost consciousness and hit the canvas like a corpse. At least he got a Fight of the Night bonus with Jiri and got a 50k pay check which is still something
also the way his head hit the matt, could've easily broken his neck and got paralyzed
Crazy that Jiri got knocked out briefly before stopping reyes like that
Rampage and wanderlei were one of my favorite rivalries next to ortiz and liddell
Should've included Gustaffson uppercutting Glover into oblivion, Anthony Johnson vs Glover as well, OSP headkicking Anderson into stone too
Felder's "ooh's" and "ugh's" after big shots are exactly how I feel, especially after that Jiri spinning elbow.
That Prochaska flying elbow still blows me away!
Anderson Silva seems like he came out of the Matrix or something
Gustafsson’s KO of Glover should be on here but I guess the UFC didn’t want to make their current champ look like a bum
Didn't bumstuffson lose to Smith?
@@Mmastrikes205 Glover lost to Corey Anderson and Phil Davis. Sit down son. The LHW division is a scrambles with Glover as champion.
@@pulproman6892 Never said he didn't lose to them SON
The OP post is talking like bumstuffson is some kind of killer which he isn't
Only true ruler is JONES
@@Mmastrikes205 And Jones couldn’t convincingly beat Dom Reyes. What’s your point? This is a top knockout video, and Gus’ KO of Glover is more spectacular than any knockout on this list with the exception Jiri’s.
THANK YOU. This list was kind of weak. Rakic KO of Manuwa should be here, could even throw in Ankalaev's front kick KO or Johnny Walkers flying knee
Machida was really something else
I miss that Light Heavyweight division era (e.g. Machida, Rashad, Rampage, Shogun, a young Jon Jones, etc.). Light Heavyweight today is so bad.
Couture beating Iceman was insane. One of the best fights ever. Iceman also one of the best
I cannot wait to see Prochazka fight again that guy is scary his chin is a little high for the level of fighting but he is interesting for sure
"That IS the karate kid. IT IS! That's the crane technique - no can defend."
Possibly my favourite bit of UFC commentary ever.
Lyoto Machida one of the most underrated fighter in UFC history
Rashad is so underrated!
That tag from Silva is legendary and was phenomenal timing. He was a different league at that time.
Rashads right hand blast to chuck liddells face is the best looking punch ever by the way rashad looked throwing it, the way he rocked, the way he held his fist in his stance before throwin, and the way he just heaves it. Idk what it is but rashad makes the already deadly punch look much better
Crazy to think that Jiri could quite easily have his only 2 fights in the UFC on this list lol
he could have like 20 fights if it wasnt only "ufc history" :D dude is wild
Crazy how much the game has evolved.
In the new roster.... Jiří Procházka is a force to reckon with.
Evans is so underrated. Likely do to the bones effect, a lot of light heavies get overlooked. But he was so fkin good.
You really forget how fast Machida was. Jesus that front kick came out of literally nowhere
Cant believe Gustafson knocking out Texeira isn't on here
So moral of the Story, is wether he was doin the KOing OR gettin KOed!Chuck “ Iceman ” Liddell = G.O.A.T 🐐 …super, super Facts ✅
Literally the reason I'm a fan today.
Michida's front crane technique kick is right up there as one of the best technically well placed finishes ever shoutout to rashad evans scud missile to chuck that was Impressive also...funfact Joe's voice get's squeaker as he get's older...😊
Was I the only one hoping to see the Machida front kick ko against Belfort? Or did that not take place in light heavyweight?
Chucks barrage of punches on Tito against the fence is epic, not many people surviving that lol
I appreciate that there's no bullshit commentary to this video, just raw action thank you.
Honorable mention, Lyoto Machida KO of Rashad Evans, Rumble Johnson KO of Jimi Manuwa, Jan polish powers KO of Luke Rockhold
could prolly throw in dan hendersons KO of bisping too
That Silva vs. Forrest griffin fight - that version of Anderson Silva could not be stopped
Anthony Rumble ko of Teixeira was also great as well as Rich Franklin ko of Chuck Liddell. Should be more sets of epic knockouts on the list.
Franklin vs. Chuck was my 1st PPV event. I'd seen all the past fights on like UFC Unfiltered I think that's what it was called. I just remember getting excited to see Chuck fight and he sadly got koed. I'll never forget haha.
Rashad’s knockouts were nasty ! Silva showing why he is the GOAT
Machida absolutely blasted Couture’s skull. That kick would kill lesser men.
Man these were some good times I started watching the ufc because of characters/personalities like Chuck Liddell and I haven’t stopped watching
I’m sure these legends are living rich and healthy retirements.. right ??
You mean like mark hunt??? No ufc sues the hell out of them and take everything
Damn. So sad. They deserve better. True gladiators. All of em.
The way Joe says "that's the crane technique" while holding back laughter gets me everytime
You can’t make a list like that without Gustafson’s knockout over Texeira. A fantastic 3 uppercuts combo with a brutal over hand right ...
Super necessary…
Two words; eye-pokes.
I have always called Machido "Ralph Macchio", and that ending completely validates it.
Not having Rumble in the list is a travesty! Easily the heaviest hitter in that division.
🤔 they not like Promoting Bellator ay
Yeah I'm a Glover fan and his KO over Glover was one of the best KO's ever in LHW history, let alone it happened in 13 seconds as well as Glover would go on to become Champion after that.
“That is! That’s the Crane technique” 😂 love it
The post celebration after Chuck Liddell knocked out Randy Couture will live on forever
The night where Chuck finally broke through and became UFC champion. It was widely expected Randy would beat him again in a similar fashion that night, considering the ease at which he did it the first time. But Chuck made the right adjustments and won.
I didnt relize rashad was such a beast. *New ufc fan.
There were far more star fighters in the UFC back in the day. Within a few years just in the 205lb division you had Ortiz, Couture, Liddell, Rampage, Forrest, Evans, Machida, Rua and Jones. Plus Anderson Silva on the rare occasion he fought at 205. Plus guys like Wanderlei and Dan Henderson who were great fighters that never held the belt.
not in the ufc, in the lhw division*. the ufc has tons of stars now but theyre spread out in other divisions rather than having 1 premiere division. we have literal unranked fighters that are ppv draws like nate diaz
@@kissmealready They definitely had more stars back in the day, GSP, Anderson Silva and BJ Penn were champs in other weight divisions and they were bigger stars than any of the champions today.
A golden age for the UFC no doubt and what got me interested in MMA. These days not that fussed and slippery slope was when Dana turned it into the McTapout and Rousey show! Even now it's all seems to be about maneuvering McTapout into a big PPV bout that he has neither earned or deserved. He's washed up and it's just all about his smack talk and puffing his chest out in loud suits!
This generation of Light Heavyweight in the UFC is the coolest and the best 🔥🔥
Jiri is literally a prime light heavyweight version of Tony Ferguson lmao
1:44 Gary Projasca is one of just a few that doesn’t add needless hits after a fighter clearly goes down. 1st class dude judging by that highlight film. This was the first time I’ve ever seen him but mad kudos, and respect.
Gary Projasca???😅
If DC vs Jon Jones wasnt overturned, he would be number 1 that is one of the greatest knockouts considering the stakes.
That GnP Jon was landing on DC was terrifying. He positioned DC's head between the cage, the canvas and was punching like he was trying to kill DC right then and there.
@@madgavin7568 realest beef in the ufc
That knockout of rashad Evans vs ladel fye 🐐🔥beautiful swing
Rakic v Manuwa, and also some of Walker or Santos
I’m glad they respected Machida and put his knockout last. It was really something special!!!
Anderson Silva was something else! His run was one of the most amazing things I’ve seen in the UFC! Especially that push kick k.o. Incredible!
He was fun to watch wasn't he. He could have held belts at 185 and 205 back then. I will never understand why he was never given a title shot at 205.
@@keysersoze8648 TO be fair, I dont see him defeating JOnes, Jones is insanely strong and has lots of advantages as well
@@stofzuigerstofzuiger1870 Jones wasn't even around back then

Rumble had some great kos too!
Jiris knockout was way better than half these, everyone has bias over them old KOs
Liddel is just in every fight, gotta love it
One thing I've never understood, why wasn't Anderson Silva ever given a shot for the 205lb title, he could have held two belts back then, and defended them both for years.
His boy Machida was in 205 wrecking the competition at the time. They didn't want to intertwine with each other.
Machida was a champion in that time, and silva didn,t want a fight lyoto, also lyoto said that he didn,t want his match against silva
@@jehezkielkennethbarantian5386 this just shows how this sport has really changed since then, and not for the better. You now have champions getting paid a pathetic $12,000 for a title fight while other fighters who have lost 2, 3, some 4, fights in a row getting to fight whoever they want for big money. The UFC is destroying themselves.
No doubt it has changed, and not for the better. The days of the #1 and #2 fighters in one weight class fighting for the title is now almost nonexistent.
Rampage not following up with any power in those punches after the KO was a respectful moment. You could tell he was just tapping him
I have to say, chucks tko of Randy was icon for sure but shouldn't be making any greatest ever ko lists for the division lol. There was nothing outstanding about it other then the context
My personal top 5 would be as follows.
1. Chuck Liddell Vs Tito Ortiz 1
2. Lyoto Machida Vs Randy Couture
3. Jiri Prochazka Vs Dominick Reyes
4. Anderson Silva Vs Forrest Griffin
5. James Irvin Vs Terry Martin
Honorable Mentions: Anderson Silva Vs James Irvin, Rashad Evans Vs Sean Salmon, Rashad Evans Vs Chuck Liddell, Alexander Gustafsson Vs Glover Teixeira, Lyoto Machida Vs Ryan Bader and Shogun Rua Vs Jame Te Huna.
Where is Błachowicz vs Rockhold?
Reyez's fucking head bouncing off the canvas
Sweet jesus
I am surprised that most of those highlights are from the old time, only Jiri's knockout represents the new generation.
'greatest' also applies to their significance within the division at the time, I'm pretty sure that's what they were going for. But they missed out some banging new ones for sure
so many awesome fights, chucks hand speed was incredible
Where tf are Jones and Blachowicz?
Man, the way Reyes head hits the canvas is so brutal.. how did his neck not snap
How is Jon knocking out dc not on here? Lmao
probably cause it was ruled a no contest
The chuck Ledell part was so funny, bro. He looked like he was looking for the ref for help. He was so relieved when he stopped it😂 oh man.
