  • HEY GUYS WE ARE IN LONDON AND TO START OF OUR AMZING TRIP WE WENT TO GREGGS BECAUSE AMERICANS TRYING BRITISH FOODS IS A MUST SO WE AMERICANS TRIED SAUSAGE ROLLS FOR THE FIRST TIME. AFTER THAT WE HEADED TO LEADENHALL MARKET for a brief Harry Potter London tour TO EXPLORE JK ROWLINGS INSPRIATION FOR DIAGON ALLY IN AHRRY POTTER .. THATS RIGHT THE REAL DIAGON ALLY PLUS IT WAS ALSO USED AS A FILMING LOCATION FOR HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCERERS STONE OR THE PHILOSPHERS STONE IF YOUR BRITISH LOL.

So I can’t speak on British fascination, but our fascination is that it’s normal day to day thing for most Brit’s, same with pret and costa, we don’t need something to be the best to be interesting, it holds its own interest because it’s such a part of normal everyday culture for a lot of people. Kind of like Toby’s, even though most Brit’s talk bad about Toby’s, they all had the experience of Toby’s to have that opinion.

@@Trippingthroughadventures - No, no no! Parsons are only a smidge above Greggs in terms of quality so still super poor. You'd be wise to aim for a boutique-style bakery, ideally one that specializes in sausage rolls and ideally one that has won awards such as The Great Sausage Roll Off Awards. Even though the quality you would then achieve there is at the completely opposite end of the spectrum to the likes of Parsons and Greggs, they would still be commercialised products that cut corners to maximise profits and thus, come nowhere near a specialist non-commercialised sausage roll.
Imagine the two minutes it takes to roll a bunch of MSM (mechanically separated meat) and meat waste/trimmings into factory-produced pre-rolled puff-pastry to make a sausage roll consisting of 15% meat and then imagine a succulent mix of Segovia suckling pig cheek cotechino sausage encased in expertly-made decadent croissant dough, encrusted with moreish pork crackling and San Marzano tomato sauce powder, served with a Tellicherry peppercorn sauce laced with a cinnamon'esq basil such as aromatto. They are worlds apart and that is just one suggestion out of thousands.

It's really cool to hear that you've read JK Rowling's Harry Potter books - your enjoyment is clear too. Hope you read them to your boys while they're young. We love the books, and have seen the films, too, but a little disappointed with some of the film-maker's decisions that warp the story somewhat. You simply can't beat the original story throughout all seven books. 😃 You'll have to take the boys on a trip to Edinburgh to see the café where her books were written, and to the Military Tattoo at the castle one August. Glad your Greggs sausage roll wasn't unheated, cold ones are a bit tough, but warm is tastier. Subscribed because we like you and your videos. Take care. 💕

So the story goes about how sausage rolls were invented..... During the war between England and France , 100's of years ago . The English were camped in France and were served French food for breakfast . " The english can improve on any thing French" was the boast by the English Generals and to demonstrate the point they grabbed a croissant and shoved a sausage through the middle and exclaimed "Instantly better" ....the sausage roll was born.

The lower classes (typically most prevalent anywhere north or east of Cambridge) tend not to have the intellect, intuition or multitude of other attributes in order to want to better themselves through self-education, etc. Consequently, that resulting simpleness of mind is very limiting in terms of its scope of perception, hence them being content that anything from Greggs is worthy of recommendation. Bizarrely, even when subjected to far superior alternatives such as a proper sausage roll, they will usually still prefer the 'lower-quality' Gregg's version as it is more in line with their 'lower-quality' mind.
