I love Greggs sausage rolls but I couldn't eat more than a dozen at a time 🤣 (just kidding.) There's a good reason their sausage rolls are known about around the world. Their sausage meat is ground more than many other mass produced sausage rolls, so you don't get any of those 'hard bits' in them which are inedible in many other brands. Food for the Gods. 🙋♂
Greggs is cheap and cheerful on the go food. But you can't beat pie's from an independent bakery. Butter pies are my fave.😋
Try ALL the Greg's cakes omg my mouth drools thinking of their cream cakes. Sooo lush. ❤❤
In UK covid lockdown I quickly got addiced to junk food eating lots of Greggs ,cheese sweets and deserts and drinking more combined with no exercise I gained a fanominal amount of weight 90lbs in 7 months. And had a massively increased waist line to prove it
Apparently Americans don't know what a sausage roll is. All these things have to be warmed to appreciate.
We definitely learned our lesson after this video! When we did our Greggs Christmas Menu review, we made sure to hear everything up!
Just like brits don't know about grits or sausage gravy and biscuits.
@@garyyork1942 We know very well about biscuits but they are not what you call biscuits. Ditto gravy. Our gravy is not the same as your gravy.
@@valeriedavidson2785 You're talking about a damned cookie. A biscuit is what you eat with your breakfast. You're also right about our gravy. We have sausage or tomato gravy with our breakfast here in the south. Goes over our biscuits and our eggs. Better than some damned beans. Since alot of us hunt, we also have deer sausage instead of pork sausage. Better than anything you'll buy in some grocery store.
@@garyyork1942 You obviously do not know anything about our food. I do not have beans for breakfast. The beans we have here are nothing like the beans you eat in the U.S.
Biting into a steak bake, burning the top of your mouth with lava and dribbling gravy down your front.
It's a British thing.
Hahaha, we’ll have to christen ourselves with that ritual 😂😂 Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
Gravy running down your fingers burning your hand. 🤪
Sounds good to me
I can't have beans touching any other food. It's got to be on its own or on toast. Then again, I've got aspergers and I'm like Sheldon from the Big Bang Theory lol
😂😂 Understandable!
AH! Gone are the Cowboy days. Remember Blazing Saddles.
Drove past a Greggs test and the Sausage Roll was calling me but on a bloody diet and saving the calories for Christmas Day 🎄!!
Stay strong! We’re going on post Christmas diets, think you’ve done it the smart way 😂😂
Sausage rolls used to be like £0.45 back in the day too😂
Holy cow!! What a steal!!
British Heinz Baked Beans are great, part of the make up of UK and Irish home meals
Actually had never heard a specific brand referenced as the go-to, good to know!
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
@@AroundtheWorldandBeck UK baked beans are nothing like US baked beans. They're far superior.
@@jillhobson6128 Stay tuned, we are filming a video tomorrow where we try UK baked beans
I am a Brit and i am really not a fan of Gregg's but so many brits are. It does annoy me that one company has basically single handedly virtually destroyed the independent High Street bakers in this country.
And dominating in frozen Gregg's bake at home in Iceland frozen food stores
Crazy how industries come to overpopulate the market sometimes! Greggs are everywhere, that’s for sure!!
By the way... the steak bake pastie is the best thing from Greggs. A big seller. Bloody gorgeous. Great video guys👍
Thank you so much for watching! Glad you enjoyed!!
There were quite a few we missed out on, definitely need to go back 😁😁
The thing about the steak bake is it's not very nice cold, and Greggs aren't always served hot and fresh so you do need to ask before getting one.
@@AroundtheWorldandBeck Easily the best
Yea the fast food that came out of the medievil times fast food bakeries and cookshops
Origianly designed for peasentry as they gained more money and were able to buy food (i mean these kind of bakeries in genral not gregs specificly) since workers didnt have much time in the day cook shops selling ready made bakery products to eat between work was populerised
Gregg's cakes esp the yum yums are my favourite things to get from there and there hot sausage rolls are divine xx🇬🇧😋🇬🇧
Proud to be from the city it originated from
Oh neat! Where did it originate from/where are you from? 😁
@@AroundtheWorldandBeck newcastle 👌👌
When you. score them, to what do you compare them? How can you not like beans ? You missed the best one , in my opinion, the steak bake!
As if you went to my local greggs lol. Mildenhall on TH-cam haha. Greggs sausage roll ftw btw
Edit: have greggs changed their sausage rolls? They used to look more filled out and not just a round sausage in pastry. Been a while since I had one
We did go to the one in Mildenhall, great eye! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
Greggs…on a PLATE? 😳
On a plate, indoors, sober. It's all wrong
Gotta make do in order to film. But you’re right, much better straight from the wrappings! Thanks for watching!
I think outside of the Deep South there isn’t much of a tradition of savoury pies in the US.”Pie” there means apple pie or pecan pie.
Surely the best sausage rolls in the UK are from Marks and Spencer .. you must trythem !!
Cheese and onion or steak are the nicest. Worth trying some of their sandwiches too ....the tuna crunch is lovely!
That seems to be a very popular opinion! (Especially since that’s what the store was out of!!) Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
Sausage Roll for the win !
SOOOooo good!
Gregg’s coffee is delicious! And not a bad price for a cup either. Love in winter when they do Mint Mocha
Chicken bakes are fantastic my all time favourite
Hey everyone throws away Greggs here, trust me I know first hand 😂😂
Lol 😂
This is very interesting, nice one guys
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment! We had a lot of fun making this one, Greggs has been talked about so much, we were really excited to try it!
If you kept the paper bag you’d see a guide to which pastry is which by the pictures on the back.
What about the steak bake you haven’t tried all of Greggs till yo had the steak bake pie
We did end up trying it! Just posted our Christmas Greggs video, we try it there 😁😁
Steak Bake and Sausage rolls from Greggs are the best
Can't believe they were out of steak bakes and the cheese and onion when we went to pick it up. Missing out on some classics. We will have to make sure we go back!
You insult the Greggs, you insult everyone up north. The home and worshippers of tge Greggs.
Greggs products are available at Iceland.
Interesting! We hope to go there soon, we’ll have to keep an eye out!
You've gotta have em warmed up for me guys👍
We actually put the leftovers in the microwave after we quit filming and OH MAN is that a game changer!!!
piping hot 🥵
Why did you buy something with beans in it?
Gotta try the favorites at least once right?! Besides, a little beans didn’t hurt him 😂😁 just a goofball!
You don't go to Greggs for quality, you go for comfort at affordable prices.
Oh it scores 10/10 on comfort and price! Can’t beat it really 😁😁 Thanks for watching!
Am I the only person who thinks a Greg's sausage roll is 1 step above a Spar sausage roll but a step below every other bakery sausage you'll get 🫣
Always best fairly hot .the steak ones are fantastic.🇬🇧👍
Agreed! We found that out quickly, much better warmed up!!
Cheese and bean melt is 9/10
Mr looked disgusted at most despite his scores ... makes sense ! the sandwiches and sweet stuff is amazing the sausage rolls are good and the rest of the stuff at it's price point; coffee good and the staff always pleasant
We’ll have to try some more stuff! Thanks for taking the time to comment!
Greggs is great my favourite is a sausage roll.
You can buy the sausage rolls raw from Iceland and cook them yourselves. Both pork and vegan. The vegan sausage roll is pale because it hasn't been brushed with egg to glaze it.
We’ll have to check out Iceland, loads of people have recommended it, must be good!
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
@@AroundtheWorldandBeck Had to edit that slightly. Just realised it made no sense.
I always get cheese and onion or pizza from greggs or from pound bakery is another version of greggs but its quite cheaper than greggs.
We ended up trying a cheese and onion in our Greggs Christmas Trial video! (And we have to agree with you, best thing on the menu!)
You were right on sausage roll need to buy hot and eat from the bag
They do frozen greggs bake at home in Iceland frozen food stores ? Iceland- not the country 😆)
Interesting! We’ll have to keep an eye out!
I can not understand why you do not reheat them as they are supposed to be warm or hot
Steak bakes and the festive bakes are lush. I do love the chicken pasty and the sausage roll too. In fact I love Greggs full stop. Yum 🤤
Hahahahaha!! Love the progression of realization there! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
What do Americans have against beans?!?
We just don’t grow up with them. They aren’t a part of our diet nearly as much. You might see them at a BBQ, but that’s really it. We’re learning to love them… or Alaytra is lol
@@AroundtheWorldandBeck that makes sense. Try Marmite next
@@sampeeps3371 Jordan did try it in our “Americans Try British Slang” video! His reaction was super funny! Alaytra still needs to take a swing at it though 😬😬
@@AroundtheWorldandBeck but Mexican cuisine is full of beans! Everyone loves their food. I'll check out the Marmite vid and give it a 👍
If it's cold its not right. It has to be hot to get the real experience.
Agreed!
Baked beans are the "staff of life."
So is bread and it tastes so much better! Jk, to each their own!
Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment! It means a lot for our small channel!
@@AroundtheWorldandBeck Baked beans piled high on hot buttered toast, with a knob of butter melting on top and maybe even a poached egg topping the lot - though that's probably optional - is a typically British simple dish. Sadly though it seems to be a meal that our American cousins don't really "get" - I've seen too many reaction vids where they'll try to eat it with their hands, and declare it to be less than successful. I'm prepared to concede that the toast goes soft, that's why it's definitely a task for a knife and fork.
That’s fair, sometimes the way you eat something can really mess up the experience.
Beans are growing on us a bit, but thus far, we will still choose to order something else if there’s an option to
You need to take the camera to Greggs and video you trying the Sausage Rolls hot from the shop!
We really should! Maybe something we will do on socials 🤔🤔
Actually grate some cheddar cheese over your sausage roll and nuke it in microwave till cheese melts absolutely delicious
Didn't see you eating a flake?
No, but lots to clean up afterwards 😂😂
