    I am a subscriber of Matthias Wandel for the last 12 years. Have seen every single video posted by him and now it is your turn 😂 love the videos, the speed of your content and how ridiculously easy you make it look.
    I love collecting and using and being around tools and your channel is like finding gold.

    Mine just blew on batteries. Hardly ever used the adapter because I have a different, lighter, corded saw. Thanks for the video. Watching you use the double sided tape for decals blew my mind. So simple yet genius

    Thanks for the video, not much out there about this saw video wise.
    I burnt mine out connecting to the mains, and blew my fuse box at home.

    My corded Bosch was on the pricey side but keep on going I keep on abusing it, remain strong after 15 years. Even cut 6" tree branches and had it in outdoor the last 3 years. No service, maintenance or parts required while my foldable mobile miter saw stand falling apart. I'm having second thoughts relative to those cordless miter saws now.

    Great video, my saw detonated on me today for the 2nd time, ive forked out for the newer version of this that runs on a single battery as i need a mitre saw asap but im fed up with this keep happening, hopefully the newer one will be better🤞

    Sounds like Dewalt is taking a number out of Milwaukee’s serviceable parts book.

    Good job 👍 but that’s a very expensive one will you keep the rest of that motor to fix other ones to save some money?

    Hey there, nice video! I've got the 12 inch dewalt dcs781. No light, no action. What does a guy do to start trouble shooting? I've had it apart... Looks like a new saw to me. Subscribed

    Interesting the drive belt looks like a 1:1 ratio. A bigger drive spindle / gear would take some load off the motor.

    • @deandohertygreaser
      @deandohertygreaser  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's not the load on the motor that burns it out. There is an adaptor to run it of the mains instead of the batteries. It's the adaptor that cooks the motor every time

      @@deandohertygreaser are they taking 54+54 and getting a 110 out of it? Because that only sounds like 108

    • @histguy101
      @histguy101 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@stauker.1960108, 110, 120, etc. Its the same thing. 108v is the nominal or actual voltage for 110-120v dc

    I liked the video mate, I have mostly all Dewalt tools and had this saw which died on me. This saw is a complete scam and refuse to fix it as the chances of it failing again are almost guaranteed. Its a shame, was a decent saw.

    • @histguy101
      @histguy101 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's crazy how many people this has been happening to. You'd think a recall would be in order, or whenever someone blows a motor on warranty, an upgrade happens making it pure cordless.
      I bought a duel power miter saw because I was scared to go full cordless, thinking a miter saw needs lots of power, but it really doesn't. I've had it a year and never once used the adapter. A battery will last all day no problem

    Hey dean. Need to replace the motor on my dhs780 after using the adapter numerous times. But not sure whether to just get the draper expert double bevel 230v. Any thoughts from yourself or anyone really. Thanks muchly.

    • @deandohertygreaser
      @deandohertygreaser  ปีที่แล้ว

      No comparison between the Dewalt and the Draper. The draper is a very basic miter saw. if your looking for a cheaper saw, look at evolution or metabo. Or if you wanted to, you could convert the 54v into a 240v motor instead. Costs just a little bit more than the 54v motor.

    • @jayharper650
      @jayharper650 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there m8. Wow thanks for the reply I really appreciate it. Is a 240 conversion possible is it. That would be something I would definitely be interested in doing. The battery motor swap looks easy enough to do. but I wouldn’t even know where to start with the conversion. sure you get this all the time but could you give me some pointers or do you know of any videos out there that would help me. Thanks again.

    Wish I’d seen this before, I used the power adaptor as batteries died, 3rd cut with adapter and it blew it up,smoke out the handle! 19months old like new as little use. Dewalt not helpful

    Can a motor to be fixed

    • @kimchee94112
      @kimchee94112 ปีที่แล้ว

      You sure could but would it be cost effective vs new? It would for larger motors, used to work for a company that send out their 1,000 HP motors for repairs.

    Who in their right mind would buy such a thing in cordless? The twin batteries alone are what, 300eur? People are idiots.

  • @miniripper
    @miniripper ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So you gota buy the whole motor unit!
    When all that was blown was a few pennies worth of a fet. Appreciate it’s all potted and could be repaired with time and patience.
    But why can’t you just buy the controller on its own? They looked to be mostly hard wired so appreciate it’s not an easy job. But still.
    And you dislike Milwaukee for grouping parts together?
    You don’t have a agenda do you Dean?
    I do enjoy your content and respect your work but gotta be fair!

    • @deandohertygreaser
      @deandohertygreaser  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      You Are 100 percent right, it's a joke. The controller that fails could easily be sold seperatly. It's not even hard wired in, it has cable connectors. It would be easier to replace than the whole motor.
      It's a black mark agents dewalt.
      The reason I don't like milwaukee is they do this with all their tools now.

    • @deandohertygreaser

      agree totally. they should at least be selling the control board separately from the motor.
