Everyone, their aunty & her dog brought these to me to fix back in the day. Majority mechanics hated working on them. I did several for myself over the years. Sold eight spare engines to a chap starting a racing school. At Mallory, they had a yellow Del Boy placcy pig with a receptacle on the roof, in which sat a football. This three-legger was used to teach smooth car control to would-be racers. Maybe still is? Couple of my RR`s were clocked at a ton and a ton-ten. Once you get the rear wheels drifting, they steer beautifully. Never rolled a piggie, but had one on it`s side for a brief couple secs before it bounced back on its wheels, and the noise of fibreglass on tarmac was horrendous. I was turning in sharp to a parking bay, very grippy tarmac ...only 15mph. Situations they`re not too happy with...windy/gusty weather, snow covered roads where a centre ridge has been left by 4-wheelers, same all-year with country/farm tracks, also some motorways where trucks have left two sunken `gullies`. Did less damage to one hitting a fox at 60mph, than hitting another Basil Brush with my old Citroen uppy-downy suspension TD lump
Those marshalls have the dirty job! 😅 They reminded me of the Scalextric days, we used to let always some one out of racing, to pick up the cars we sent out of the tracks!! 😂
Ridiculous not to have the battery in a battery box and bonnet pins. No window net or donuts. Guy is an international treasure it would be appalling to lose him.
Years ago a little dealership popped up in my city selling these cars, I can't say I remember seeing any of these cars actually driving around though , wonder if they actually sold any of em..
Years ago, four of us would split the $100 each cost, on old American cars. The most fun ever, for $25-$50cdn. Cut the wheel wells with a torch. After it fell off, put the fuel tank in the trunk, with tie downs. Kick out the windshield, after it broke, on a rock, or tree branch. Set up camp, with tools, and a recovery vehicle. Go, on mountain dirt roads, and an ex military dirt track. Worst I ever had, was stitches on my forehead, from a rollover. Forgot to put the Jack, back in the trunk. It found me. A couple of cars, was a good weekend of fun. Nothing comes close to it, any more.
@@poppy11th This constant hard hits, especially when the car falls back on its "feet" after rollovers, are prone to cause basilar skull fractures. Multiple NASCAR drivers died from basilar skull fractures before the HANS device became obligatory. Same story for monster truck drivers. So even though these motorsports never saw such high g impacts, like F1 did, drivers without head and neck support suffered the same injuries.
Most of British car brands are today owned by foreign car makers: Rolls-Royce Motor Cars owned by BMW, Bentley Motors owned by Volkswagen, Mini owned by BMW, JLR owned by Tata, French Peugeot bought Vauxhall in August 2017.. But strangely enough, no foreign car maker bought the Reliant Robin. Wonder why..
yes they did. B and N plastics bought the rights to produce the Robin mark 3. and reliant died in 2001 but if they carried on they proboaly would belong to a different one.
it's more like propaganda. it wasn't bad engineering either those cars can survive multiple rolls and didn't roll unless you drove like an idiot. the tipping was dramatised in multiple ways. people tipped them over for fun on top gear for a laugh and had to literally fill one side with concrete to do so. The car is not the reason but idiots who don't do any research but believe it instantly. it's because of idiots and careless drivers

Guy is genuinely a happy kid in a man's body.
Reliant = true happiness
Guy's enjoyment is infectious. Grinning from ear to ear while watching that. What a hoot!
I laughed the whole vid through. Thanks, you made my day! Legend!
01:33 or pretty much anywhere in the entire video.
I didn't know people were allowed to have that much fun.
Thanks For Sharing

I've been a marshal for reliant bangers and it's amazing how fast they corner
You definately should take the family on this circuit. Never seen you so happy.
That looks like an absolute BLAST!!!

Absolutely bloody brilliant love it
Awesome video guy thanks for sharing. You fill up my senses like a barrel of Tetleys.
Guy is doing what every Wreckfest player wishes they could do IRL!
LOL at 1:56 the battery comes flying out haha.
used to wheely them for a laugh down the promenade on the isle of man in the 80s.
Did you put an elephant in the boot or something?
Legend Guy, inspired me to finally rebuild a 600 Fazer
You awesome man😂👍🍻
Hahah loved it Guy I used to own one of these used to scare the shit out of me every time I drove it 😅😂
I also drive one and it’s not scary at all. Even at 80mph
@@mrjed6912 it would be with a homicidal ex TT racer driving it !!!😃
What an absolute legend

Unsound, brother unsound!!
Awesome 👍🏻
When I was a kid there was a man at top of our road used to have a reliant and I used to call it a headhog killer..
The Pigs 🐷 are alright 👌🏻😎
I legit thought this was wreckfest when I clicked on it lmao

Up north they were quite popular
People are buying these cars quite a lot now but you won’t see them everyday. Mainly car collectors or me who just loves it.
Oh yeah
surely a lithium battery strapped in would be better :-)
Guy, thank you for beating Mr.Bean's enemy.
This constant crashing is not a good idea without wearing a HANS device
F1 drivers are subject to much more violent g force than what’s occurring here. I’d argue a good rollercoaster is as bad as it gets in this video

Is a sidecar outfit not a three-wheeler?
The old ‘Resin Rocket’…

they were connected or produced scimitar sports cars?
Nice trophy. Now, he can have his pims cup in a pimp cup. #archer
Guy should have got Clarkson to race against
👍👍👍😬
"They dont really make three wheel things you can race " ever heard of sidecars Guy
Isn't that a free wheeler?... usually yeah
There were 4 wheeled reliants
Disappointed the trophy wasn’t a 🐷 🤨
English people make 3wheel car. instead of seeing its flaws. Laugh hysterically as it rolls down the road.
I find it quite sad that the cars are being wasted like this.

Completely bad oldstyle engineering thinking ....
