This error is mentioned in the troubleshooting section of the video, it means the app isn’t compatible with your device. If this is happening with any app you try, reboot your device and computer and try again.
Excellent tutorial and exactly what I was looking for. I just dug out my original iPhone 4 32GB from 2010, jailbroke it and downgraded it from the sluggish and horrible iOS 7.1.2. Debating which firmware to keep it on: iOS 4.3.5, 5.1.1 or 6.3.3? It feels a little more nostalgic with the full length Slide to unlock bar, the annoying blue pop/up notifications that take up the entire screen including the old iPod dock icon. Not done any real world testing but I think its runs the smoothest on 4.3.5 however I may be wrong. My home button is a little dodgy so cannot install Zephyr on this version of IOS to swipe up and close apps. iOS 6 seems to have the best compatibility and you can also run Flappy Bird on iOS6 :) Anyway superb tutorial, great IPA links and sideload app. Excellent channel, subbed and once again thank you!

Yeah. Not much point in apps any more as most non-games were stuff like social media that relied on servers that no longer work. Productivity stuff doesn’t have much of a point either anymore as it’s so much better to use a modern device for that

I have jailbreaked my ipod touch 2 and have installed the certificate too. When I want to install the app, in the appmanager there is only the words "attempting to install". I waited for a long time but nothing happened again. Do I have to use itunes 32-bit?
Hold volume up on boot and it will start with substrate off, which will allow you to go into Cydia and uninstall the tweak. Then go ahead and reinstall it to see if that works. If you can’t get it out of the boot loop, restore in itunes

Oh boy, I’ve done it. It is literally so incredibly difficult I don’t even think I can make a tutorial for it. Once you set everything up, it works just like on any other version (using AppManager), but the setup takes hours. You have to jailbreak it first, and just jailbreaking iPhone OS 2 with working Cydia takes hours, and I almost gave up trying but eventually got it working. It involves SSHing into the device from a computer to manually install .deb files, and then you have to manually install the MobileInstallation patch to allow sideloading. Only problem is, it requires that you’ve installed at least one app from the App Store first before it will work. Believe it or not, there actually are a few iOS 2 compatible apps that still exist, but you have to install them via an old version of iTunes, which has issues with Apple ID sign in that took me a long time to figure out. After that, it all works and I’ve got my iPhone 3G set up for sideloading on 2.2.1. The problem is that Apple is removing old apps from the App Store, so those iOS 2 compatible apps are likely going to be gone soon, rendering this whole process impossible. So that’s the situation right now with that.

@@3lectr1c If you’re able to find a non-cracked app which supports iOS 2 (doesn’t matter if they belong to you), you can just launch that and open it up to let other cracked apps work since App Store logins are usually broken on such vintage versions. It’s relatively simple to sideload to iOS 2, there’s a deb file you can just drop into /var/root/Media/Cydia/AutoInstall with any tool that can view root fs before subsequently rebooting the device

Hello, I tried sideloading Urban Crime in my iPhone 4 iOS 7.1.2. Every time I open the app it crashes on start. I rebooted the device installed the repo and everything. I'm sure the game is compatible with this version of iOS and device what do I do? I tried 4 different iPAs.
Watch over the last section going over common issues, if all that’s been validated to be ok, then best advice is to watch over the tutorial again and make sure you didn’t miss any steps.
Great tutorial! Quick question though, every time I try to install an app with app manager I get the app verification error even though I know the app would work normally. When I install them with sideloadly it then seems like it works perfectly. Why is that? And any idea if the app will have a 7 day limit like on modern iOS with this method? Edit: I realized the issue is definitely because I installed an old version of appsync unified since the repo is down. Not sure what to do from here…

First, thank you for the tutorial, but you left a step out. I found this the hard way. AppManager needs Bonjour (basically its a device locator and protocol and not built into Windows) installed to locate the iDevice (iphone, ipod, ipad). Unfortunately you can't easily install Bonjour by itself. The easiest way to install Bonjour is to also (and unfortunately) install the latest version of iTunes. Once you have installed iTunes, the AppManager will detect your iDevice. Also, you can't uninstall iTunes because it takes Bonjour with it. There are other Apple apps for Windows that install Bonjour but iTunes is the easiest to get.
Yes, it needs iTunes installed so the phone can communicate with the computer. I should have made a brief mention of that if I didn’t, but I also assumed everyone would have iTunes installed already as this requires a jailbreak to work, and every jailbreak tool requires iTunes.
You can still install 32 bit iTunes on a 64 bit computer. That shouldn’t be your problem though. I can’t give a fix because any number of things could cause a program to crash and I can’t troubleshoot without being there.

Driver issue I’m thinking? Does the 5.1.1 device show up in iTunes? Make sure to use the website download and NOT the Microsoft store version of iTunes.
Lucky you, don’t update it! According to the charts on r/jailbreak, Taig or PPJailbreak are the tools for that version. You can try either, though I remember hearing something a while back about one of them not working anymore? Not sure. I don’t have any devices that those jailbreaks apply to. As for storage, reset content and settings from the settings app and it will clear out all apps and data without updating, which will free up all your space. Back up anything important first.
So I’m trying to sideload Katamari Amore on an ipad 3 running 9.3.5 but having no luck the app keeps asking me to sign in and when i turn on airplane mode and sign in the game just goes black I’ve been trying to figure this out for hours now 😅

The apps you’re trying are incompatible - many do this. Devs will say they’ll work on a certain version but never test them and then there you go. Try some ones that claim compatibility with an older version than what you’re device is running. If they still don’t work let me know
When doing the jailbreak, is there a risk that the iCloud account will be banned? It is that there are things that I continue to use and I am worried that they will ban.
some apps dont sideload because whenever I do, it says "could not locate (app name).sinf in archive" then exits with code 128, sometimes it says "ApplicationVerificationFailed", and if it does pass, whenever i open the app, it asks me for an apple id and password. help me pls edit: nevermind, it's working solidly now somehow
Please see pinned comment, this issue was addressed in the video. It means the app isn’t properly compatible. If this is happening for every app you try, reboot the device and see if that helps.

You can use iOS-ota-downgrader do get the 5s on iOS 10 and run 32 bit games

Jelly car 3 is a great one, pvz of course, and bounce on/bounce on 2 are both my favorite mobile games of all time. They’re excellent.

@@3lectr1cyou know about 2-4 days after I commented I tried factory resetting my iPod touch 2nd generation and it was stuck in recovery mode because the factory reset failed and when I tried to do it again it rebooted right back into recovery mode but almost 3 weeks later I tried one last time and it worked also is it possible to side load 32 bit apps and games onto a 64 bit idevice because I want asphalt 4,5, COD zombies and real racing 1 and 2 also I can’t sign into my Apple ID on my iPod touch and it just says “cannot connect to iTunes Store” and I’m putting in the correct Apple ID and password but side loading apps onto my iPod touch 2nd generation after jailbreaking it again it didn’t work but then I found app sync and it worked:edit: like I could downgrade my iPadOS to the last version that supported 32 bit apps and then update but that might break my other apps
My cydia is refusing to download all the packages and utilities each time i have tried to download ios3 party, any help?

Oh boy, I’ve done it. It is literally so incredibly difficult I don’t even think I can make a tutorial for it. Once you set everything up, it works just like on any other version (using AppManager), but the setup takes hours. You have to jailbreak it first, and just jailbreaking iPhone OS 2 with working Cydia takes hours, and I almost gave up trying but eventually got it working. It involves SSHing into the device from a computer to manually install .deb files, and then you have to manually install the MobileInstallation patch to allow sideloading. Only problem is, it requires that you’ve installed at least one app from the App Store first before it will work. Believe it or not, there actually are a few iOS 2 compatible apps that still exist, but you have to install them via an old version of iTunes, which has issues with Apple ID sign in that took me a long time to figure out. After that, it all works and I’ve got my iPhone 3G set up for sideloading on 2.2.1. The problem is that Apple is removing old apps from the App Store, so those iOS 2 compatible apps are likely going to be gone soon, rendering this whole process impossible. So that’s the situation right now with that.

@@3lectr1c If you’re able to find a non-cracked app which supports iOS 2 (doesn’t matter if they belong to you), you can just launch that and open it up to let other cracked apps work since App Store logins are usually broken on such vintage versions. It’s relatively simple to sideload to iOS 2, there’s a deb file you can just drop into /var/root/Media/Cydia/AutoInstall with any tool that can view root fs before subsequently rebooting the device

I have 3GS with ios 6.1.6 and it seems I can't jailbrake it with any described tools as they either not running new to unsupported (too new) os, or does not work with iOS 6. I even went as old as Siera with sn0W but it also didnt work. What is the modern way to jailbreak iOS 6 in 2024?

Hey, whenever I try to launch a app I sideload onto my Ipod touch. It asks me to sign into my icloud. When I do try it exits the app and then when I press cancel It just does the same thing. What can I do to fix this?
This indicates the app hasn’t been properly cracked, your IPAs are bad.

Use control f in your browser is all I can suggest. Archive.org isn't the best when it comes to filtering stuff in individual archives.

Hello, I tried sideloading Urban Crime in my iPhone 4 iOS 7.1.2. Every time I open the app it crashes on start. I rebooted the device installed the repo and everything. I'm sure the game is compatible with this version of iOS and device what do I do? I tried 4 different iPAs.
Check the troubleshooting section again - many apps claimed to run on a certain version but would just crash as no one bothered to test them.
I have an Ipod 3g, I did all the steps and tried with a few ipas but everyone of them opens and immediatly closes, what could be happening?
Watch over the last section going over common issues, if all that’s been validated to be ok, then best advice is to watch over the tutorial again and make sure you didn’t miss any steps.

Great tutorial! Quick question though, every time I try to install an app with app manager I get the app verification error even though I know the app would work normally. When I install them with sideloadly it then seems like it works perfectly. Why is that? And any idea if the app will have a 7 day limit like on modern iOS with this method?
Edit: I realized the issue is definitely because I installed an old version of appsync unified since the repo is down. Not sure what to do from here…
This can happen sometimes. Restart your device and your computer, reinstall app sync if need be. It will eventually just start working on its own.
@@3lectr1c thanks man, I got it to work after installing the latest version of AppSync Unified. Since Karen’s repo is offline I downloaded the deb from this website called CydiaCrawler which turned out to be an older version lol

First, thank you for the tutorial, but you left a step out. I found this the hard way. AppManager needs Bonjour (basically its a device locator and protocol and not built into Windows) installed to locate the iDevice (iphone, ipod, ipad). Unfortunately you can't easily install Bonjour by itself. The easiest way to install Bonjour is to also (and unfortunately) install the latest version of iTunes. Once you have installed iTunes, the AppManager will detect your iDevice. Also, you can't uninstall iTunes because it takes Bonjour with it. There are other Apple apps for Windows that install Bonjour but iTunes is the easiest to get.
Yes, it needs iTunes installed so the phone can communicate with the computer. I should have made a brief mention of that if I didn’t, but I also assumed everyone would have iTunes installed already as this requires a jailbreak to work, and every jailbreak tool requires iTunes.

You can still install 32 bit iTunes on a 64 bit computer.
That shouldn’t be your problem though. I can’t give a fix because any number of things could cause a program to crash and I can’t troubleshoot without being there.

Lucky you, don’t update it! According to the charts on r/jailbreak, Taig or PPJailbreak are the tools for that version. You can try either, though I remember hearing something a while back about one of them not working anymore? Not sure. I don’t have any devices that those jailbreaks apply to. As for storage, reset content and settings from the settings app and it will clear out all apps and data without updating, which will free up all your space. Back up anything important first.
So I’m trying to sideload Katamari Amore on an ipad 3 running 9.3.5 but having no luck the app keeps asking me to sign in and when i turn on airplane mode and sign in the game just goes black I’ve been trying to figure this out for hours now 😅
The IPA hasn’t been properly dumped and it’s tied to an Apple ID, that won’t work unless you’re on iOS 6 where there is a bypass

The apps you’re trying are incompatible - many do this. Devs will say they’ll work on a certain version but never test them and then there you go. Try some ones that claim compatibility with an older version than what you’re device is running. If they still don’t work let me know

I’ve never ever heard of anyone’s iCloud getting banned. Apple hasn’t ever done that.
some apps dont sideload because whenever I do, it says "could not locate (app name).sinf in archive" then exits with code 128, sometimes it says "ApplicationVerificationFailed", and if it does pass, whenever i open the app, it asks me for an apple id and password. help me pls

Please see pinned comment, this issue was addressed in the video. It means the app isn’t properly compatible. If this is happening for every app you try, reboot the device and see if that helps.
