    If I remember right the slogan was for small elephants to large squirrels. Have had mine since roughly 1978-79 Guns & Ammo gave them out with a magazine subscription. Thank you great videos. Stay safe.

    My dad had this knife growing up we used it to field dress and skin/process our game. Later as a young man I worked on several ranches here in Texas where I used this knife (my dad loaned me his) and a pair of pruning sheers to field dress probably over 1000 management deer and hogs for the ranches. One day I forgot to bring my pruning sheers that I used to cut through the rib cage and pelvic bone for field dress. I broke the tip off the knife that day. I was furious at myself. My dad reground the knife making it shorter and it worked but I was always upset about breaking it as it was my fault. Recently I purchased new replacements for my dad and myself. This is the best hunting knife I have ever had or used and those that watched me field dress would always ask to use my knife and pruning sheers. Best hunting knifes ever in my opinion. I have xxl hands so the large version has been my favorite. However I do use the smaller version for skinning or processing and it’s smaller size is sometimes extremely handy for the job.

    I have used a Schrade sharp finger since my early 20s and I’m in my 50s now in spring of 2024. The carbon steel blade holds a fantastic edge and I love the knife so much that not only do I use in the field, but I am currently deboning a pack of chicken thighs with it in the kitchen.can’t think of a better endorsement for a tool. It’s the one I grab every time.

    I have been interested in the Sharpfinger ever since I was a kid but never owned one. That may need to change. Thanks for showing these. I saw that they are now making the small one in the OTG series. 1095 and make in the US! Also leather is quite often fit on the tight side. For example the retention strap on pancake style holsters is always tight. You have to work the leather in order to loosten it up enouh to snap. Grab each end of the strap and pull them apart in a straight line. While pulling twist side to side. If it doest stretch enough wet the leather and try again. I can make a video on how to do this.

    • @knifedelights7473
      @knifedelights7473  ปีที่แล้ว

      A video would be nice to see. The strap did loosen up, but probably because of the crack. And, I didn't have any of your miracle conditioner at the time. I appreciate you stopping by, LTC.

    Just found your channel. I love the Sharpfinger design. I've actually made a few copies. I bought the smaller one a few years ago. Mine came with a orange handle and has 152020 on the blade. It's has the extra O for orange . I didn't know this when I first bought it.
    Sorry , I'm gonna ramble a bit.
    I probably shouldn't have done this , but I have made a few knives. I broke the handle scales off purposely. The handle pieces were hollow plastic and the pins were actually brass caps with some kind of little screws connecting them. Anyways , I drilled out the existing holes to 3/16"and added one in the middle of the knife tang. The whole blade is definitely heat trated 😅. I put some black and orange stripped micharta handle scales on with some actual brass pins. It looks and feels much better. Like I said it originally had a orange handle , but I can't see it ever being considered special or a collector's piece. Oh. I put in a piece of brass tubing at the lanyard hole also. I wish I could show a picture of it here. I know that was almost a book.😅 I subbed. You seem to have good content.

    Have you on the iPhone and TV at the same time
    I have the Schrade USA Generation Sharpfinger and it is perfect It’s amazingly like the Bear and Son Upswept Skinner in almost every way except it has sawcut bone handles where the Bear has Delrin
    I bought all my boys the Bear and Son Skinners on sale and they liked them so well I bought one for myself
    So Tom IDK if I am any help in answering your questions but I am collecting skinners along with everything else that catches my fancy lol

    For fish and small game, the Sharpfinger and for large game the Large Sharpfinger and you're pretty much covered for all tasks. The fact that you get leather sheaths with them is a big plus, keep them conditioned and they will pretty much last for life. Say Tom how about all those blunt Buck knives you throw away, you can throw them my way with good conscience, i'll be happy to sharpen them and use them my whole life.... Thank you for TFT my friend.
