    The nails, screws thing is a thing to help turn alkaline soil to acidic for acidic, loving plant and shrubs. Old gardening technique. I’ve used them to turn my hydrangea bush flowers from blue to a purple pink color. People didn’t have an array of potions 🧪 we have today on the store shelves in the old days. I think that was a fun find 😊 and surely you’ll never forget a screw that big falling out of the base of your plant 🪴 😂

    I love how real you are the messes you make the places you repot the spoon to make holes those are things that most of us real people do but no one sees. That’s what separates you from the rest. Love your content and your realness and your silliness is definitely a bonus. Stay true sista 😊

    Hi Harli, very good tips, thank you. I give all of my plants a cocktail of calcium magnesium and super thrive. Clean all the leaves and shower the ones in self watering. On the first of June, I cut the flower spikes on my orchids and repot them if needed. Spring is my favorite season. 😍 ❤

    Hello from Maryland!! Have to say, your hair/nails are very pretty☺️. I'm pretty much done prepping my plants for spring/summer. Soon as we started getting extra daylight I ordered more soil and pre-measured fertilizer singles from Amazon. Most of my plants simply needed topping off. Most of my new plants had to be repotted. I love playing in dirt. There's literally not a day or evening I'm not watering something.

    Plant prices have plummeted and most of the TH-camrs that were in it for money have left but Harley is the only one that you can tell really loves plants. I will tell everybody follow her give her likes view her videos. She’s been doing it for years and she has not changed you have to love Harley. She’s the only TH-camr that has not stopped putting up videos about plants life in general so you can tell she really is a plant lover. She’s so awesome. She’s not fake what you see is what you get her her husband and for being real and keeping it real.

    Oh gosh Harli, thanks for all of those tips on getting our plants ready for spring, I have also done that with a spoon to get the soil not so hardened so that my plants will get good drinks of water when watered. I am also happy about the crazy bugs that are finally going away, I have been dealing with mealy bugs and they are finally dead and my plants are much happier and I am not losing anymore because of those bugs. I also have a ponytail palm that is struggling a bit and hopefully she will become more happy because I have really liked her for a long time. You picked some really cute pots for those plants you repotted, I have been doing that kind of plant care for this past week and am so excited for spring and my plants seem to be getting more happy. Thanks so much for this great video with a lot of good tips that I have loved seeing and also love watching your great videos. Have a beautiful and blessed rest of your day, sending love and hugs, bye!! 😄🥰👋👍🙏💜💜💖💕

  • @alantower9659
    @alantower9659 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I agree these need repotting, but with MUCH larger pots. I grow many of the plants I see here in pots many times larger. My 'Thai Constellation' has mammoth leaves about to hit my ceiling, for one example. You stuck that euphorbia in a terribly small pot. I grow a wide range of in that genus. Specifically, my "Thai Constellation' pot is 21" wide by 21" tall. If plants look puny and sick, as many do that I'm seeing, try giving them an adequate pot. The Abutilon needed a pot at least twice the size you chose. From the over 70 year old retired nursery owner...give this a try and you might be simply shocked by the response. Also provide a lot of light. Happy growing! I watch you because you're entertaining and fun, but I wish you had plants that looked a bit more robust. It is not that complicated in the final analysis.

    A bit off topic Harli but I'm lovin' your nail polish and that ring, so so pretty! is there a story behind it? AS for your prep for spring, thanks for the tips esp about the regular watering sign that a plant needs repotting 🫡 Also that screw in your root ball....whaaaaaa?! That's crazy...Ive never heard of using it for more iron, but the weight idea is probs more likely. However it could just be that it was in a drum of soil and was accidently scooped in 🫤😬

    I really expanded my plant collection last summer so this is my first spring with most of my plants. I've done a couple plant divisions already and found that the plant shock made me feel like I was worrying over a new plant. (syngonium and prayer plant). I moved my pearls and jade further from the window because it has burned a little with the increased light. Most of plants are requiring more frequent watering now also. I'm really having to keep a closer eye on plants with the changing season! Thanks for your tips and hope to see a thrifting video. You're so creative with your thrift finds!!

    Hey so I’ve been watching all your videos one after another and you have such great information. The one thing I’d like to see is exactly where you cut different plants for propagating. I’m really new to 5he idea of propagation and don’t want to do it wrong and although you have lots of videos on the subject I can’t find any that show the exact location of cuts. Thanks much!

    I would be careful about watering your Adenia glauca too much. Mine goes dormant in the winter and I don't water much until I see a hint of leaves. As long as the stem and base are firm (not squishy) it should be fine until it decides to grow again.

    There are some plants, and I remember my Aunt's Hydrangeas as one. You can put iron spikes or copper rods in the ground and into the rootball to change the flower colours. My Aunt's driveway was lined with them, and they were each different and some a mix of colours.
    When I re-pot and run out of saucers, or use an odd-shaped pot. To catch drainage water I temporarily use large lids I save for just that reason. There is always some time when I use up all the saucers I have. Then have to find something or try to get two (or more) pots to share. This can cause more issues from pots falling to one plant going dry while the other is still damp, or sucking up all the extra water. I save lids from everything, even coffee creamer tubs, cat treat tubs, and even smaller ones from peanut butter or similar jars. They can all come in handy at least temporarily.
