got my first Vaer watch and i'm in love. I'm a corrections officer and my watch is one of the only thing i wear that allows me to stand apart. Thank You.
Watching this video make me more excited to get my C5. Supposed to be here in a couple of days. I will be proud to wear a time piece assembled in the good ole USA! Thanks for starting sure a great company I know how much work it involves! Thank you. Bill
Just ordered a C5 with the ameriquartz movement. I appreciate the American movement and the American assembly. I just hope you guys keep pushing towards a true American made watch.
It is crazy to me that watches in the well sub $1,000 price range are receiving this much care and human attention. I truly appreciate what you all are doing and I can’t wait to unbox (and then gift) my C3 when it arrives. Thank you!
Thanks so much guys this was exceptional. Makes me even more proud to be the owner of three Vaer watches. What you guys are doing is fantastic. Seeing all that goes into making a watch of this quality, I am still amazed at the price.
The “assembled in America” tag at Vaer has many more steps and requires more tooling than I anticipated. Thank you for investing in the US labor force.
Thanks for the comment Steve! Yes, I think it comes as a surprise to a lot of folks. We're excited to continue sharing more inside access, and also expand the conversation around the current legal challenges around US Made vs. US Assembled. From my perspective, it seems people care about US sourcing on all sides of the political spectrum, so it's pretty strange that the current trade regulations do very little to reward/incentive increased American investment - as we grow, it's something we're going to start lobbying around.
Very impressive. As I await the arrival of my very first Vaer, I am excited about knowing the oversight and precision that goes into each watch. Thanks!
D5 being worn now, C5 tactical arriving today. Vaer’s approach, especially American assembly, is the reason not only that I got two Vaers but that I wear watches at all. Friend here at the office who is REALLY into watches was literally wide-eyed at the quality of the D5. I enjoy that the founders post videos like these and keep us regularly updated on the website and in the e-mail newsletter.
I am so happy that I discovered Vaer Watches. Assembled in the USA and the USA Movement mean a lot to me. They are the two main reasons I purchased a C3 watch. I can't wait to get it. I wish this company great success and the founders are truly great entrepreneurs and true to the American history of manufacturing. Thank You William Annelli
Thanks, Ryan and Reagan, for creating this video! Seeing the Vaer team at work and understanding how much pride goes into your watches helped me decide on your C5 Design White American Assembly watch.
Love behind the scenes videos especially with watch brands. It shows confidence and true enthusiasm of your products! I just placed my order for my first Vaer Ameriquartz and I'm stoked about it! I really love the mission around American made and assembly where you can. We used to be the leader in watch manufacturing and lead the way in innovation... Brands like yours are bringing that back home and I'm excited to see what the industry can do.
I recently picked up your 42mm R1 Chronograph. Your USA watch assembly video gives me added confidence in your products and commitment to high quality. Thank you
Great video! I own two VAER American Assembled watches and love them. My favorite is the diver watch which nowadays I wear most of the time. Quality is something that's added to a product over an entire manufacturing process and VAER eloquently demonstrates how that is done.
Love new watch from Vaer. My mother worked for Hamilton watch during the war....we are from Lancaster, Pa. What you all do as an American product makes me elated in what you are doing. Thanks!!!!
That was a fun look behind the scenes. With assembly being handled through a partnership, it all comes down to the quality of the employees and the managerial commitment to integrity to eliminate errors in assembly. It is really difficult to accomplish. Most firms try to implement the principles espoused by W. Edwards Deming, but fail to embrace them systematically. It doesn't end well for those firms. Continuous Process Improvement is the heart of the matter. The rig for testing WR with air pressure is brilliant. It never occurred to me that air could be used instead of water; but it makes perfect sense. It permits you to test the completed assembly without risking the contamination of the movement with water. C'mon Reagan, smile for the camera. You know you want to.
Ryan and I have somehow coordinated the ability to never smile at the same time on camera. I discover this whenever I try to pull screen grabs for these videos! Haha
Great video. Adds to the value to see the actual hands-on assembly of the watches. Can’t wait to get my new C5 in a couple days and looking forward to buying an automatic next.
Yesterday I ordered a vaer watch. All my life I bought Timex. I saw the name on the web and click to it. Love products made in the USA. I hope this watch does not disappoint me. We shall see
This is outstanding. I think a major factor to Vaer’s success are levels of transparency unheard of by even the majority of top-level luxury watch manufacturers. For example, info shared in this video as it relates to sourcing of quality automatic movements is not only interesting, but paints a picture of challenges that must be overcome to get the US back into the quality mechanical movement market. Thanks Reagan and Ryan for another great job and yet another reason why people can purchase Vaer watches with high levels of confidence.
Just made me a customer with the level of precision, quality and transparency demonstrated in this video. I've been looking for a dive watch, looks like a D5 is "the one."
I’m very pleased Vaer is bringing such quality craftsmanship back to the US. It’s a shame such Iconic brands such as Hamilton and Bulova were off-shored. May this trend continue!
I bit the bullet and pulled the trigger on the A5 tactical automatic. Absolutely love the craftsmanship, detail, look, and fit of the watch. This watch is absolutely worth the asking asking price. I proudly support assembled in the USA! You guys ROCK! Now if only there was a Pilot automatic version, I’d be all over that! Cheers
I just purchased an A5 field automatic from you guys. I am very pleased an impressed with the quality, value/cost ratio, and the aesthetics of my new watch! I am also really stoked about your vision to utilize and bring back such an awesome craftsmanship based manufacturing process to USA! This video does a great job of bringing your vision and your dedication to quality to your customer base. Keep up the great work!!
Just ordered my G5 Meridian. Can’t wait to get it. Thanks for showing the process and giving everyone a behind the scenes look at how their watches are assembled. Definitely gives me confidence that my specific watch will have gone through a detailed process. Great job guys!
I was really blown away to find out that you actually test each watch for WR. I just assumed everyone takes a batch and calls it a day. I'm now even more excited for my C3 Korean Field now that I know the care that goes into these models!
Congratulations on your continued success. This is a great video explaining the process of watch making and the pride of US assembly. I look forward to recieving the D5 tropic diver in August!
Vaer's transparency, honesty, and customer service continues to amaze. I own four Vaers now. I wonder if your American Assembled watches beat the Swiss in QC:) Looks awesome!
Love seeing the process and some of the critical decisions made in relation to both the product and the process. I'm a process geek so really enjoyed the presentation. I also recently bought a C5 field watch and really am looking forward to wearing it.
Thank you for making this video- gives one a better idea of what it takes to make an excellent time piece and demonstrates visually the time and care that you put into your Vaer Watches.
Thanks Rob, we've been waiting a while to put this one together - and I think you're right. The next step is to connect the rest of the dots, and show all of the other US workers involved in the business, from leather making in Illinois, Florida, and North Carolina, to shipping and logistics in Kansas and Missouri, to printing and support here in Los Angeles. It's a big story, but we're excited to share more.
Enjoyed the video and glad Vaer is bringing back some craftsmanship in the watch industry to the United States of America. Also proud to be the owner of two (S3, C3) and patiently waiting for my third; D4 Meridian. On a side note; another factor in my purchase decision has been the variety of your 36-39mm watches. Keep up the good work!!
Thanks for the comment Colin - the more we've thought about it (and received strong feedback from viewers) the more Ryan and I have realized that showing how our business works and creating content directly from us as the founders is beneficial to the brand. The added layer of being a small US business within a mostly overseas industry is an added layer that I think makes the whole effort a bit more interesting.
Traded in my Apple Watch for a VAER automatic and have never been happier. I love the clean simplicity, elegance, and value of the watch. Added benefit: I’m not beholden to my phone anymore 👍🏼👍🏼
How Cool ! I had no idea exactly what went in to the creation of a Vaer timepiece. Your process , and your employees are very impressive. My D7 Artic Swiss Diver is on the way, and I cannot wait to get it. I actually own 2 Rolex models, and a Rado, but after viewing this video, I am even more excited about the arrival of my D7. Well done, gentlemen !
kwpatlaw, as an owner of this very same watch (in white), I expect that you will be very pleased with it. It is, IMO, the modern embodiment of the spirit of the classic Marine Master. It is not an investment. It is a tool watch, meant to be used. I don't think anyone is likely to mug you for it, as they would for one of your Rolexes. And, if they do, the sting will be fleeting. Just hand it over and order up another one. The bracelet is not up to the standards of the big watch brands, but at 20mm it can take bands and straps from a variety of vendors such as Strapcode and Erikas Originals MN style elastic straps. The VAER leather and nylon straps are very high quality, comfortable, and durable.
Thanks for watching and for the comment - the current batch of D5 models are just about sold out (that's the batch shown in this video). But we have a new batch starting near the end of July for August delivery. There will be a few updates and improvements on this batch so stand by!
Question,.Do you have a real technician in the factory who can disassemble the parts and fix any damages in the movements as service and assemble them back together as part of the warranty or do you send them somewhere?
Nice to see how transparent and proud you are about your US assembly process. As you should be. Not to knock any other microbrand or for that matter large brand which decides to have manufacturing outsourced or done overseas. And I know some of your offerings are foreign built as well but as someone who first hand has had to deal with my job being sent overseas or over borders more than once, there is something to be said about a business supporting it's home market with more than just a product to sell. I think manufacturing and manufacturing expertise is an important capability for any country to have and take pride in. If the Swiss found a way to keep the industry live and vibrant in their country. No reason for it not to be able to coexist in the US.
Thanks Christian, great comment and we completely agree. These days, a global supply chain is a necessary part of most complex technical goods (just look at the auto industry). That being said, there is still a huge opportunity to support the expansion of more high-skilled and technical craftsmanship State-side. Given the tens of billions of dollars Americans spend every year on watches, there's no reason why the USA can't follow the example of Switzerland, Japan, and Germany and establish a skilled, and well-paid workforce of watchmakers. We're a small fish in a big industry, but hopefully, as our brand grows more people will start to recognize the opportunity, and start to "invest" in this new vision for the American watch industry.
I'm a smart watch guy, but have been looking to get something classier because my twenty year old Citizen is kind of out of date. Glad your ad popped up on Facebook as I had never heard of Vaer before. It's so refreshing to see a company focusing on US production, and I have to admit you are right, without this video I would have had no idea just how much effort you put into assembly. Very cool. Now just to decide between a field and diver...
So cool. Thanks for making this. Have really enjoyed my first Vaer watch, the C5 solar field watch, and looking forward to getting a Pepsi GMT from you. This video definitely helped deepen my interest in and trust of your brand. I look forward to meeting ya'll one day!
*I just purchased 2 Vaer Timepieces the A-12 Dirty Dozen and the 42 mm solar diver and i cant wait to receive them after watching this video and the others on this cannel i can with confidence say this gents know wht they are doing they are committed passion and are ding it the right way!!! awesome to see!*
Fascinating to see how quickly and precisely your techs can work. Seems like you have a great squad. I’m happy to know my purchases support your team - thanks for the insight!
Thanks Shane - I fully agree, it's really quite impressive stuff. When we started with US Assembly back in 2018, we had to rely on a lot of veteran watch repair techs who were doing every step on the same bench. We've obviously come a long way since then, and it's really awesome to see a new generation (most of our technicians are under 30) learn the craft from the assembly standpoint, just like their counterparts in places like Switzerland and Japan. Obviously, it's a skillset/career path we want to continue to support and expand as we grow the brand.
I just love what you guys are doing!! I am waiting for a little more USA content, as I don’t have a watch need at all, but maybe a USA case, Strap and USA MVMT and I think I;m all in!!!
Cheers! Interesting fact about our videos, I actually produce all of the musical scores myself (in addition to the rest of the editing, and videography). Have had a few folks comment on the songs, and will need to upload them somewhere where others can listen and enjoy! Thanks, - Reagan
Hello, just ordered field watch 36 mm automatic, I plan to use it for rugged purposes, but really wanted something I could beat up while scuba diving. The default screwdown crown is reassuring. Hopefully it lives up to the task.
Great vidio. I have been enjoying my two Arctic's. First one a D5 and just a few days ago a D7 arrived. Cool to see who is assembling the D5 in this vidio. Any watch wearing bud of mine that see's these watches likes the looks of them. They are classic but the ceramic bezel and the sapphire dome crystal just pop from any angle. Every time I look at these watches for the time I can't help but admire how good looking they are. Keep doing what your doing.
Well done video & really appreciate the inside look. Love the US assembly aspect at a time when so many industries and so much technical know how have dried up in this country. Only constructive criticism I’ll offer is to drop the TH-cam ad package for your channel. The videos while interesting are basically an ad for your brand and it’s a minor annoyance to have them populated with blurbs telling me which car to buy and what snack foods to eat. Wishing you continued success in your endeavor!
This is an awesome insight into the brand and manufacturing processes. It just further confirms why i love my Vaer watch especially when they are designed to last for decades. I just wonder how you go about servicing watches from overseas? Is it an easy process?
I’m thinking about getting a Tissot Seastar but this video swayed me to go for Vaer. A second watch strap also offer tremendous value that comes with Vaer watches.
Absolutely agree with your statement...have had a Tissot PR50 for 20+ years and it's been great but rather than the Seastar, I just ordered a D4 Navy Meridian 38mm...to go along with my two month old Vaer C5 Field. The only "improvement" would be an offer of a titanium case design to lower the weight on wrist a bit.
I’m quite impressed. Attention to detail and a goal of high quality are things that are lacking in modern America. I have always worn watches costing less than $50, particularly during military service. I am looking to get something of good quality that is affordable to the common man. I will definitely be making a Vaer purchase.
Looking forward to the D4!! Any chance to get a solid In place bezel as an option?? I have a Nodus Contrail II with a SS bezel. I think a solid bezel would be a great addition to the D4. I love dive watches but would love the option for a solid plain or even fluted bezel.
Definitely on my radar I heard about you guys through casual watch talk I love attention to detail in a watch that's why I love Grand Seiko. Do you ship to the UK ? Many thanks Chris.
I may get a DS4 next time there is a good promo/sale. I was eyeing the Seiko SNE589 solar. But after seeing it I person I was underwhelmed (seiko was showing renderings rather than true photos online). So the Vaer now seems a good option. I wish it has a bit of a more toolish hour markers, but it seems like a handsome, reliable watch for being in the ocean.
Awesome video - part of me was hoping to see who Liam is because he QC’d or assembled two of my pieces. Any updates on the D4? I emailed the other day and Denise responded saying that they should have shipped today.
Thanks! Liam is actually the guy operating the stem-crown combo machine (all the techs can do all of the jobs seen in the video, and everyone rotates on doing QC checks). Regarding the D4, Denise would be the one to trust on the shipping timelines, likely should be arriving early next week (depending on how close you live to our fulfillment center in Kansas City).
@@VaerWatches please tell him he did awesome. I have several other cards I just can’t necessarily read the signatures - nonetheless, your team definitely does a great job!
Hello! I just wanted to take a moment to comment on your video… In fact, I’ve watched a few this morning. I recently bought one of your watches and I’m eagerly waiting for it’s arrival. My purchase of your product was far from impulse, as I’ve been looking for a watch which met my needs, functionality and price range. A little about me, I kinda consider myself a wee bit of an adrenaline junkie. I’ve worn watches in a number of different environments from my time in the military, my hobbies such as scuba diving, mountain biking and backpacking. I’ve had wonderful watches which have done their job and then some, and others - well, you get what you paid for. In fact, I was toying with such a watch awhile back. In the end, this just isn’t me. I never buy cheap gear for any hobby or job requirement. Why should I stop now? The search went on… About a week ago, I found a review on your watch vs said “budget watch”. I never heard of your company, but my interest peaked. The comments about quality caught my interest and the rest became a series of “Dark Rabbit Hole Discoveries” and “Ah Ha Moments”. In short, I was excited about what I found, purchased a watch and subscribed to your emails and videos. Over morning coffee, I watched your video, “The Way Home - A Surf Expedition to Northern Iceland” and I’m still looking for my socks and other garments. I shared your video to my Facebook page and look forward to the arrival of my watch. Just so you know, I rarely do this. Afterwards, I watched this video and the same garment process occurred. In closing, Kudos to your adventure and those to come. I look forward to traveling with your product and the upcoming adventures I have planned. v/r Chris Huston

D5 Pacific Anacapa is far and away my favorite watch. Thanks to everyone who helped make it!
The “assembled in America” tag at Vaer has many more steps and requires more tooling than I anticipated. Thank you for investing in the US labor force.

Very cool. Now just to decide between a field and diver...
...get both...I just ordered my 2nd after being so happy with my new C5 Field 40mm !
So cool. Thanks for making this. Have really enjoyed my first Vaer watch, the C5 solar field watch, and looking forward to getting a Pepsi GMT from you. This video definitely helped deepen my interest in and trust of your brand. I look forward to meeting ya'll one day!
Thank you for the excellent video, and for your commitment to quality American assembly. It really shows in my C3!
Great video guys. i love my Classic Light. Still my favorite watch.
Thanks guys! I love my C5 and excited for my C3 Korean Field to arrive. Next up, an automatic...keep up the good work.
Its the little finger gloves for me. Great video, thanks for sharing!
Very interesting to see all that goes into making your watches.
I always love to see these videos. Fantastic brand, Vaer.
Thank you for the video,it gives a greater insight into the creation of your watches.Wonderful video. What is the song playing in the background?
Cheers! Interesting fact about our videos, I actually produce all of the musical scores myself (in addition to the rest of the editing, and videography). Have had a few folks comment on the songs, and will need to upload them somewhere where others can listen and enjoy! Thanks,
- Reagan
Great video! Makes me appreciate my Vaer even mkre
I am very happy with my DS4 I just received. How do you recruit your technicians, and how are they trained?
Love my Vaer Arctic Diver! Great video!
Excellent presentation. I believe you just sold me on my next watch. Does Vaer have any plans for a USA GMT Diver?
Looking forward to the D4!! Any chance to get a solid In place bezel as an option?? I have a Nodus Contrail II with a SS bezel. I think a solid bezel would be a great addition to the D4. I love dive watches but would love the option for a solid plain or even fluted bezel.
Great video. Thanks.
If you're willing to share, what are the average labor costs of prep/assembly/testing, for quartz models, and for automatic models?
You're running a great operation. I love Vaer watches and I would love to feature your brand on my watch review channel.
Definitely on my radar I heard about you guys through casual watch talk I love attention to detail in a watch that's why I love Grand Seiko. Do you ship to the UK ?
Many thanks Chris.
Do all the watch models receive the same amount of assembly in the US? Or are some more fully assembled here than others?
Usually where it says Swiss made.... It should say American assembled!! You guys should be really proud,...
Thank you so much for the walk-through of some of the processes. And it was great to see some of the people at work!
A video showing quartz assembly?
Can’t wait to get my D4 Solar

Why the safety static arm band? Curious why yall would need that in there.
