    Oi Paloma. Tudo bem? I would like to ask you some questions: 1. After the word "posso", is it necessary to add "de" (e.g. posso de ligar) or not? 2. What does the word "consigo" mean because I could not find any translation to the dictionairy? Muito obrigada!

    • @nathaliarodrigues2269
      @nathaliarodrigues2269 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You don' t have to use any preposition after " posso". " Consigo" means " I can", " I'm able to" .

    hi from New York City trying to learn Portuguese. you said, could you get me a map. Voce pode me ver um mapa? but when I asked the translator it told me, can you see me on the map. It told me the right way to say can you get me a map is, Voce poderia me dar um mapa. Can you help me understand this translation or anybody in here that speak Portuguese I would really appreciate it here in New York City lost and confused trying to learn Portuguese and in my opinion I'm assuming there's many different ways to ask for a map.

    • @FallenLight0
      @FallenLight0 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry I'm late, maybe you've already understood it. But the lady in the video is saying this phrase in a very daily basis way. "Você pode me ver um mapa?" This is literally "Can you see me a map?" but it means: "Can you get me a map?" So google translator doesn't get all time the meaning of specific expressions like this one "me ver", it means "give-me, bring to me", for example, in a restaurant you can say: "Me vê um bife por favor" that is "Bring me a beef please" . I don't use "...me ver..." I like to say the formal way "Você pode me dar um mapa?" (me dar = give me) / "Você pode me trazer um mapa?" (me trazer = bring me) / "Você pode me arranjar um mapa?" (me arranjar = provide - me). But the most correct ones for this situation is: "Você pode me arranjar um mapa?", "Você pode me ver um mapa?", "Você pode me providenciar um mapa?"

    • @AnarchoPinkoEuroBr
      @AnarchoPinkoEuroBr 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      *Case-se comigo (se case comigo or se casa comigo is how Brazilians usually say it, but that is a less grammatically standard construct)/venha casar-se comigo (again, vem se casar comigo or more formally venha se casar comigo is how it is usually said in Brazil).
      *Você é muito bonita (informally pronounced cê é muito bonita or cé muito bonita)/[tu] és muito bonita (usually said tu é muito bonita by most Brazilian people who use tu).
