Absolute pleasure having you both stay with us, 2 absolutely beautiful humans! Great evening with some great chat and my family and i have come away from it realising we have met 2 pretty cool people! I hope you enjoy the rest of your time in the South Island team and you are both welcome back at the "Hotel Kent" on your way back through Blenheim, it would be an absolute treat ☺☺

Welcome to Blenheim. Sadly the museum has been taken over by the District Council from the Heritage Society. Quick as a flash, they made the top people and others redundant and it hasn't been opened since. Us locals are a bit upset about that. The Heritage park has open days which are quite good.
I hope you enjoy yourselves. I live in Renwick, just out of Blenheim.

I didn't get a chance to cook for these guys. Mado kept dishing up beautiful meals Noone could turn down. Those nachos looked top notch though .

They run steam train rides in Brayshaw Park on the weekends and one of the best aviation museums in the world is next door and part of the Omaka Airfield. It has quite a few aircraft of Peter Jacksons collection and is well with looking at if you go back through Blenheim.

That tall, grey building is an old NZ Post Office building, circa 1974. It's no longer owned by NZ Post. By the look of it, it may also have housed the main telephone exchange, as it's very similar to other buildings that housed telephone exchanges. I used to work for NZ Post as a telecoms technician, which is why I recognised the building style.

No its not, it is a German word correctly pronounced 'Blen-Hime'.

If they are over 1000m they are mountains here.
Not like UK where 1000ft qualifies.
Just a suggestion, try listening to how locals pronounce place names before you attempt it.
If you don't ask, they will be polite, and giggle their tits off after you turn your backs.

Thought it would pronounced more like “Blen-imm” than “Blen-am” 😂, either way can understand why they’d pronounce it the way they did as the place name is European/German in origin. Find it cool how One Pack Wanderers research how to pronounce the local names but to each their own 👍🏽. Still great of this channel to showcase NZ to the world 🇳🇿🫡.
