Justin...thanks so much for making the download available....it's amazing!🤗 As an older learner of 74, to discover I really can jam along to a backing track is sooo good. It really gave me a lift and helped me to understand what can be done just by learning a scale! Thanks to you my guitar journey is progressing along...slowly....but I'm getting so much pleasure out of it! You're a great teacher, thank you sincerely!🤗🤗🤗

You always have such great advice in your lessons Justine. There is something here for players at EVERY level to learn. I think there are probably many players like me that taught themselves how to play a long time ago and are missing a lot of fundamental, and much needed, knowledge. Thank you.

Brilliant! . . . and simple, I learnt all 5 positions of pentatonic, and while I might go up and down neck, not produced anything as musical as you just have. I completely fall into all the traps you talk about, too many notes, feel I have to permanently fill any space and feel pressure to do so. Going to have to go back, simplify, absorb your lesson and start again!

Justin - First, thanks for all you've put into your channel and into the guitar teaching universe. You're always my first stop when I'm looking for guitar-related info (usually lessons for a particular song, but other stuff, too). You're THE example of giving, a very unusual trait.
With over 90 beginner lessons now, any chance we'll see either intermediate lessons or more intermediate songs in the near future?
I so wish I was able to take personal lessons from you. I should be a much better player than I am, but there's a mental block somewhere (I think). My problem, not yours!
    Thanks again! ~ Lee

Finally a video format has answered my questions on making up a solo, brilliant video
justin am sure you can do that with the am beginner scale to that we start off with right ? Been playing for a couple of years now already done a bit of soloing to gary moore parisienne walkways at my sisters wedding a couple of years back but that was a melody me and my teacher came up with, and for me scales have been my downside for my playing havent gotten to the soloing stage yet just been mostly acdc chord kind of playing, And even though my teacher who is way better than me at soloing has shown me how to do it with the am scale ive still struggled to keep it going because i thought you had to do it in one big bunch if you like didnt know
You could break it down justin so i learned something new there so gonna try that next time i go to scale practice

Hi. I’m learning to play Sax and really would like to start improvising. Should I use the scale of the song (the key) or change scales at every chord change? Using just the one scale as you’ve shown (C) sounds good throughout the track even though there are several chord changes Thanks

This is fantastic stuff Justin, really loving playing over the backing track. Appreciate the lesson! I'm curious as well about how the notes are picked. Perhaps this will be answered in a later lesson but I'm curious. I know its all improvised, but are there certain notes that we should be thinking about that just sound good together? You'd mentioned in another lesson that the musical alphabet is similar to the regular alphabet and that you can't just string together random notes as it might be akin to writing something like: fgsdjfhskdjhfnkj instead of an actual sentence. How might this apply with improvising and scales besides (generally) limiting ourselves to playing notes within the scale itself? For example are there certain rules like how far you should jump around the scale at any given time etc?

      C- Major SCALE.
      The major scale is a 7-note scale and the notes in the C Major Scale are [ C D E F G A B C ]
For your specific question, the notes 1 and 3 on the High E are... E1 = F, E3 = G, which fit perfectly well into the C major scale. (And the pentatonic scale)
The pentatonic scale is a 5-note scale the C Major pentatonic is 5 notes from the C-Major scale. CDEGA
      The Root note, C
      The 2nd, the D
      the 3rd, the E
      the 5th, the G
      the 6th the A

It will usually start on the root note.
There are basically 5 main positions on the fretboard going from the nut and up to the 12th fret.
It then starts over up to the end of the fretboard.

The problem is not the guitar itself, okay this video is about 10.28 minutes, and the talks takes about 8.17 minutes in a words that can be summarized in a minute. Most of the adults learning wants to see how it is done. Thanks for posting .
