    When you realise there is a scientific theory behind axe ads and now we cannot outrage against it

    • @aninditadeshmukh8155
      @aninditadeshmukh8155 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      When they say scents are attractive/compatible.. they mean the natural body scent. The scent that dogs use to distinguish one person from another sometimes. So deo actually covers those scents. Technically you can outrage saying my compatible partner will not be able to smell my original scent.😂 Lol

    • @meettheartist5506
      @meettheartist5506 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can outrage by proposing the idea that it's immoral as our acceptance towards women. Because we all see in the ads to have women all around. And these ads concept doesn't even revolve around the concept to find a partner but having multiple partners or even meaningless sexual relationships which brings another point of view about implying or depicting women as sex objects only or toys to play around.
      Sure I'm just saying it. And sure ik you might be joking. But the point is really interesting as this has been a conversation going around; by men and women both. But no one really does anything about it, in addition to a lot of things people say it's immoral or dehumanizing.

    (When see model good structure faces, little dopamine is released and we like it. Same w flirting )
    Flirting = Exchanging pattern ( Peacock spreading )
    Gamble = Release of Dopamine with other chemicals = More Benefit , Less Risk probably mindset .
    Falling in love = High Reward. High Risk knowing it might all be for nothing ( same as gambling)
    Love = Punishment + Reward at the same time.
    What happens when you don't get the drug ? (a) Withdrawal (b) Grief (c) Anger (d) craving (e) Relapse (f) anxiety (g) depression

    Suggestion for the series: What conversation does to our brain (I read in the book 'Sapiens' that gossiping is something that humans that has actually helped survival/evolution- and would like to understand how it changed from that to toxic debates and hating on each other these days.)

    • @reubengeorge8684
      @reubengeorge8684 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      When did it change? In the book, he said that through our complex communication system and language, we could talk and tell stories about each other, and thus establish a complex societal structure, which through the ability to believe in common fictions ( also a consequence of our complex languages) , could go on further to help establish the intercontinental level of interdependence and cooperation that we see in humans today.
      Gossip is taken very negatively, but it's very important, even if it includes bitching about each other, as that's how humans established trust and built cultures.

    Tanmay Bhai, I didn't have money so I couldn't ask you this, but if you could ask Siddharth bhaiya to explain more about the social monogamy clandestine adultery part. I read that in rome, that gladiators ( many were slaves) were often idolized and the wives of those in power would often hire them as bodyguards (and sometimes stuff would happen). It is also said the wife of Marcus Aurelius fell in love with a gladiator and had sex with him in a ceremonial thing (permitted by the emperor). So if you could ask Siddharth bhai to do another episode on stuff like the sexy son hypothesis, hypergamy, attractiveness and infidelity, it would helpful for us. Also thank you for explaining evolutionary biology in a simple way. I read some books but it didn't cover the neuroscience part of it.
    Happy birthday tanmay bhaiya. You are bringing change for us at a practical and relatable level.

    Okay this might be a dark thought, but I am seriously curious. If the self-preservation instinct or like the desire to not die and survive is natural, sort like programmed into us and the part of our brain that's different from animals and evolving more and more is the pre-frontal cortex, increasing the context and choice factor making us more evolved than an animal, so could all this put together mean that someone who committed suicide had a more evolved pre-frontal cortex because it was able to override the natural instinct of survival?

They don't want anything more than that and they think that makes them chill and cool and open minded. Which explains us why so many families are dysfunctional and so many people keep complaining about marriages because they haven't grown up enough to understand the stage 2 and 3.

      that's one of the crucial topics that are important to discuss.
      I was thinking about this in the morning that how does being pretty, attractive, and becoming beautiful which is a part of the makeup and glamour industry has been evolved as a point of insecurity and low confidence among many people as a mental state. Also, it's something that has now become a status symbol as well I believe which results in no mutual acceptance of people to people and ruining real-life relationships that could've resulted in wonders.
      Great topic. Wish Tanmay is reading this.

    1st time seeing anything from this channel and I'm enjoyin it..it's like content for mature people..
    on a lighter note it's like seeing Tanmay as a 14 years old boy sitting in 9th standard biology class..haven't seen him this much quitely sitting before🧡
