- I spent a night under a tarp with heavy rain and hail, unexpectedly coming in sideways 😄 This was such a beautiful camp, next so a forest lake in the mountains, and I even got to have a dip in the lake in the rain 🌧️ Despite a poor night sleep, I loved this night in the wild!

What I enjoy most about Claire is her ability to be honest and then process emotions - acknowledging that she felt a bit jaded after the rough night, but then showing appreciation for the experience and location. An immensely high level of emotional maturity which is something we should all aspire towards.

I camped in Italy in my hammock under my tarp for 5 days & we had a couple of really big thunder storms & it was amazing, the sound of the rain on the tarp is so relaxing there’s nothing quite like it!
I'll second that. There are lots of rain on tent videos on TH-cam which I often just have on in the background. Obviously not as good as the real thing, but so relaxing.

Waking up to birds singing is the greatest thing ever. Last year in the drought I just put out my camp bed and slept beneath the stars. Absolutely amazing for both the view at night and the awesome morning call 😊.

I love that when it absolutely pours down buckets of water and your tents is pummelled with wind and rain. You look at the roof of your tent and it's like a light show. 😮😂😂

13 degrees is the perfect temperature for hiking and camping as far as I'm concerned and there's no sound in the world like being under a tarp or in a tent in the rain. I've never been too keen on flying my tarps high like that, every time I do something like this happens and I end up having a miserable sleep because of wind, rain or snow. I'm a big fan of the tarp tent set up (which I believe was the first video of yours that I watched) when I sleep on the ground or I make doors on my tarp around my hammock when I camp with that.

You summed it up, camping is about doing nothing. When I go camping it's my time away from working at a job, working around the house, bills and being around people, its just me and nature. This is how i reset to keep going and not burn out. Stay safe.

For some reason I get the feeling that a disappointing number of people (and many commenters) might be watching Claire’s videos largely for the bathing suit & titillation aspects. I get that strategies are required to drive up views and likes etc. but I just want to say that the content stands on it’s own merits for me and as a wild camper myself I enjoy watching other people hiking, exploring and wild camping and it’s still interesting even if they are fully clothed and have a face like a bulldog licking piss off a nettle.
Absolute definition of living in the moment. Love your content, photography and editing. Beautiful location. The saturation of the scenery colors are especially bold in the rainy weather. Keep up the fantastic work.

I just wanna say, as an avid camper, this isnt as nice as it looks. its a very specific type of camping, this would be very uncomfortable
You need to toughen up. It's one or two nights. A lot of people camp this way. Having the right clothes and gear helps a lot.
Any camping is great for the sole

Stopping not far into it to say, you want to camp on a slight rise vs the ground around. You want the rain to run away from you down hill. You also want to make the tarp a bit lower to the ground on 3 sides. This blocks the wind flow that may carry rain into where you are. Now I will watch the rest of it.
... I am happy I watched it all. It reminded me of experiences from the past where I woke up to snow on the pup tent. I slept warm and cozy and would not have known it was cold until I was forced to leave the warmth of the bed.

Great video and lovely camping spot! That weather was wicked! Just today, someone on an ultralight group asked the question why anyone would need a bivy if they were using a tarp. They figured that once a tarp is up, then a ground cloth and quilt or bag would be sufficient. Most responses addressed a "bug" or "midge" situation. I definitely like my bivy to handle splash and splatter from bad weather. There have been too many times when the wind has changed direction on me or a sudden storm came in and my bivy saved my gear and me! I'm really glad you showed this very same situation. Weather can be type two fun and present a challenge. Its much nicer to look back upon with fond memories if you aren't seriously put at risk. Nice job and thanks for the beautiful wild camp adventure!
