After watching the whole Team Hypercube Dokapon Kingdom series, I realise that it's only good in context. Seeing Chugga go down the path of Joe saddens me greatly.
Trust me, Dokapon Kingdom DOES end eventually, and when it does, you'll miss it, ESPECIALLY if you're one of the people playing. It's an unforgettable experience.
A level 60 Rico Jr. is worth less EXP than three soothstained level 30ish clouds? Dokapon could have been such a good game if it rewarded taking risk more and just milling around on a old continent grinding.

actually there's no reason to kill steal using a field magic spell, you don't get any exp/money/items from it, all that would have done is free up jon so he wouldn't waste another turn fighting Rico Jr.

I played the demo for Fire Emblem: Awakening, the DEMO, mind you. During the chapter where the dark enemies first show up, I got one-shot and game over-ed by a 4% chance to crit. I plan on buying Echoes when it comes out, but I didn't buy Awakening or Fates.

story time. one time when i was playing this with my friends i had no sword because it broke in the final dungeon, so i had to leave to go buy one. i got a red chest from the first continent and got the sword there (gradius i think) so as i walked to a space rico jr popped up, i got so mad because my luck was terrible and my friends were laughing at me. that was until i killed rico jr with the gradius and i won his sword. i then took that sword to fight the final boss and right when i thought i was going to die because my health was low and he lived, the sword activated its ability which made a f5 storm appear after my attack. that is how i beat the final boss of dokapon... all thanks to rico jr
Love how a few episodes ago, many people were complaining about Jon hindering story progress and now no one is batting an eye at Chugga and Tim, the former outright even acknowledging setting back story progress in the same video. It's like the TH-cam commenters are made up of an anti-Jon group or something. :P
I was never one of those people. In fact, I was hinging on Tim getting the Darkling again for a while. It'll at least make things interesting again which was my real gripe with this LP. Things seemed to move so slow in some parts with nothing of any real interest going on that I felt like I wasted my time watching. It doesn't help that we only get one or two parts a week.
Lucas Martinez Well, technically it's three a week; Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. I do get your point, though; it's just unfair for people to take it all out on poor Jon, especially with people making him out to be a guy who apparently detests story progress.
NoirCore In Jon's defense, when it comes to these kinds of story events, unless it's to get some kind of rare item or to bulk up, he's the best of the three when it comes to pushing for progress. That said, he's not exactly an innocent party here either since most of his complaints about the lack of progress was that he wanted to level up his "sweet robo class" with the Demoman objective seeming more as an afterthought. He's just more innocent than Tim who does nothing for story progression more often than not (he did win two castles, though Cusco Castle was because Jon had the misfortune of running into Darkling Tim after all of his hard work of saving Princess Penny) and Emile who has taken up the role of local threatening bridge troll who doesn't want Jon to go anywhere near the goal unless they throw down...but not until he's at peak condition and Jon isn't.
Within the next couple of episodes, it will have been two whole years inside the world of Dokopon Kingdom. By this point, I think the princess would've found her own suitor instead of waiting for these three.
Finally caught up after 2 months of bingeing, holy crap I really want this game after watching how deep the guys have put into it game kicked Emile's ass at the beginning, Jon had TERRIBLE luck but Tim lost so many good items and towns I still root for him!

If you become a Darkling while you are in debt your total money will change from 0 to a negative number total of what your debt is. Basically it is a bad idea for Tim to become a darkling while he is in debt
Oh man, it would have been great if he took the demolition man to the top of the mountain to use the angel wings and did die (assuming this doesn't happen later). Talk about a halt of progress so bad it might as well be a soft lock.
命運捉弄 It's not merely hypothesizing; it's an eventuality. This was confirmed by Jon on Twitter and on Stream. Also I feel like as much as losing the Angel Wings would sour his mood, I don't think that alone would be enough to make him as salty as he claimed he was.
It really shouldn't if what Jon said was true. Knowing nothing about the game, apparently you need to get into an encounter with Rico Jr. (honestly seems like less than a 1% chance of any random encounter being him...) then you need to actually *kill* him, then get lucky enough for the wings to drop, then you need to keep it in your inventory until the zone before the final boss opens up and THEN they can be used to access what sounds like a difficult dungeon filled with things that'll kill you easily and, if you somehow succeed at all of this, you get a completely broken class that curbstomps all the other players and makes the game basically a waste of time until the Hero player stumbles into a free win. So many things in a row need to go right, and any of the other players acting malicious can destroy it entirely. As long as nobody else manages to steal it and become a Hero on their own (cause they damn well don't deserve it) I won't be too upset.
If I recall from when I played through the game, you should be able to get the item to get the hero class from the dungeon that you can only access by using the angel wings at the top of the mountain on the 4th continent. It still takes a lot of classes as prerequisites, but fortunately waiting for the end of the game isn't required. (and I really don't want what I said in the previous comment to happen because that would be a horrible end to the series).

For those curious, Rico Jr.'s stats are equal to the average of all players' stats.

story time. one time when i was playing this with my friends i had no sword because it broke in the final dungeon, so i had to leave to go buy one. i got a red chest from the first continent and got the sword there (gradius i think) so as i walked to a space rico jr popped up, i got so mad because my luck was terrible and my friends were laughing at me. that was until i killed rico jr with the gradius and i won his sword. i then took that sword to fight the final boss and right when i thought i was going to die because my health was low and he lived, the sword activated its ability which made a f5 storm appear after my attack. that is how i beat the final boss of dokapon... all thanks to rico jr
Love how a few episodes ago, many people were complaining about Jon hindering story progress and now no one is batting an eye at Chugga and Tim, the former outright even acknowledging setting back story progress in the same video. It's like the TH-cam commenters are made up of an anti-Jon group or something. :P
Everybody Hates Jon (Except me now, I've been cheering for him lately because he's been so smart and deserves recognition for being so tactical).
I was never one of those people. In fact, I was hinging on Tim getting the Darkling again for a while. It'll at least make things interesting again which was my real gripe with this LP. Things seemed to move so slow in some parts with nothing of any real interest going on that I felt like I wasted my time watching. It doesn't help that we only get one or two parts a week.
Lucas Martinez Well, technically it's three a week; Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. I do get your point, though; it's just unfair for people to take it all out on poor Jon, especially with people making him out to be a guy who apparently detests story progress.

NoirCore In Jon's defense, when it comes to these kinds of story events, unless it's to get some kind of rare item or to bulk up, he's the best of the three when it comes to pushing for progress. That said, he's not exactly an innocent party here either since most of his complaints about the lack of progress was that he wanted to level up his "sweet robo class" with the Demoman objective seeming more as an afterthought. He's just more innocent than Tim who does nothing for story progression more often than not (he did win two castles, though Cusco Castle was because Jon had the misfortune of running into Darkling Tim after all of his hard work of saving Princess Penny) and Emile who has taken up the role of local threatening bridge troll who doesn't want Jon to go anywhere near the goal unless they throw down...but not until he's at peak condition and Jon isn't.

If you become a Darkling while you are in debt your total money will change from 0 to a negative number total of what your debt is. Basically it is a bad idea for Tim to become a darkling while he is in debt
Oh man, it would have been great if he took the demolition man to the top of the mountain to use the angel wings and did die (assuming this doesn't happen later). Talk about a halt of progress so bad it might as well be a soft lock.
I really hope Jon gets the hero class, but seeing how people are hypothesising about why Jon gets salty.....Well, I'll be prepared for the worst.

Also I feel like as much as losing the Angel Wings would sour his mood, I don't think that alone would be enough to make him as salty as he claimed he was.
It really shouldn't if what Jon said was true. Knowing nothing about the game, apparently you need to get into an encounter with Rico Jr. (honestly seems like less than a 1% chance of any random encounter being him...) then you need to actually *kill* him, then get lucky enough for the wings to drop, then you need to keep it in your inventory until the zone before the final boss opens up and THEN they can be used to access what sounds like a difficult dungeon filled with things that'll kill you easily and, if you somehow succeed at all of this, you get a completely broken class that curbstomps all the other players and makes the game basically a waste of time until the Hero player stumbles into a free win.
So many things in a row need to go right, and any of the other players acting malicious can destroy it entirely. As long as nobody else manages to steal it and become a Hero on their own (cause they damn well don't deserve it) I won't be too upset.
If I recall from when I played through the game, you should be able to get the item to get the hero class from the dungeon that you can only access by using the angel wings at the top of the mountain on the 4th continent. It still takes a lot of classes as prerequisites, but fortunately waiting for the end of the game isn't required.
(and I really don't want what I said in the previous comment to happen because that would be a horrible end to the series).
Very late comment, but I think you might've misunderstood my comment. I meant hypothesising about WHY he gets salty, not IF he gets salty. What you're doing.
