Hey TC - I know it's super frustrating and annoying, but please try to understand that your cat isn't doing it to make you angry or out of spite or revenge. Your kitty is trying to tell you something - a vet check may be in order, s/he may be needing more attention or affection from you, or there might be something wrong with the litterbox setup. Start with a vet check and looking at the litterbox - here are some pointers: www.felinebehaviorsolutions.com/litterbox-setup-makeover/ If you still need help, I do offer phone consults (and other services), which you can see here: www.felinebehaviorsolutions.com/services/ Best, marci
@@FelineBehaviorSolutions what if this is happening only when I am not home? My cat peed in the litter box several times in the box no problem when I am home. (only had him 3 days since adopting and he passed vet check fine so no issues). Came home to pee in the bed, but then he even pooped in the litter box when I was home already right after!
@@ValFinale There could be something about the litterbox that your cat doesn't like (which could be why he's going outside of the box in general). Have you ever caught him in the act and scolded or punished him, or done so after the fact? If so, he may have learned to go outside of the box when you are not around. Or, he may have some level of anxiety. If this is a new kitty, changing living environments can be very stressful, so if you are leaving for work, that might be amping up his stress level. If the behavior continues, please do take him in for a vet re-check, since stress can cause urinary issues, or a medical check may not have been found the first time. Please take a look at my litterbox setup tips here: www.felinebehaviorsolutions.com/litterbox-setup-makeover/ and talk with your veterinarian, too. You may want to look into a calming supplement such as Zylkene (all natural, safe, and effective) for reducing some of your kitty's anxiety while you're not home. I hope this helps! - marci
My cat is 1 and a half and was born with a liver shunt. She has been peeing on our bed for the majority of her life... It's worse when she's in heat... (We can't spay her because of her liver shunt and apparently she may not survive) she lives on anti biotics and lactulose, so I'm not sure if her peeing is her telling me every day her whole life that she is poorly??? She does it at different times of the day and night, she does it when she's had a cuddle, before, after, she does it before and after food, she has had 2 litter boxes and she does it if they're clean and fresh! I just don't know how to stop this.
@@sterlingmusicuk5312 I'm so sorry that your kitty has some medical issues! It sounds like you're working with your vet regarding her physical health; have you talked with the vet about the house-soiling? You might want to make extra-sure that her litterbox setup is up to speed and readily accessible: www.felinebehaviorsolutions.com/litterbox-setup-makeover/
I'm so sorry - please understand that your kitty isn't doing it out of spite, to make you angry, or for revenge - cats just don't think that way. We already went to the vet and he’s fine. I give him treats and kisses and rubs and he still pees on my bed or my wall. Now he has peed on my headboard that is fabric and I wanna cry.
Oh my goodness - I'm so happy to see this! I hope that your relationship with him continues to improve and that both of you get lots of love from each other! - marci :)
My cat pees on my bed but I found out she had a urinary infection one time which I treated. Also I notice that she does not want to pee in a box with poo in it so then she uses my bed. I'm going to put another litter box down. I bought a waterproof mattress cover too. Despite all that I still love her!
I'm so glad that you're not giving up on her, and especially that you took her to the vet to get her treated for her infection! And it's true - some kitties do not like to pee and poop in the same box, so having multiple boxes even if you have only one cat is a very good idea. I hope that this issue is resolved for you! - marci

My cat keeps peeing on my sisters bed. I washed the sheets many times. I had an older cat that had urinary blockage which later died. My cat is totally fine. My mother is making me give him away and I’m really sad about that. I can’t do anything else about it.
I bought a 3 months street cat home Today I made a litter box for her After she woke up from sleep, she jumped on my bed and Started to poo I took her to washroom and litter box after sometime she pood in the box. But the problem is she addicted now pooing on my bed?

You are simply wonderful! Unfortunately, I like many animal lovers keep giving my cat doggie behaviors/traits. WRONG, I know, but you kindly did not scold us but rather had nothing but sweet smart advice. How my heart lept when you said my cat may be feeling insecure and then explaining that her scent mixed with mine made her feel more confident! Not at all about dominance or being angry as I have heard. Thank you very much...luv my kitty even more!
Awwww - thanks so much! I try to help people empathize with what their kitties might be going through, and this can really change the relationship between cat and guardian for the better. Thank you for being open to another perspective - your kitty is lucky to have you in her life! - marci :)
Great advice. I love your tips. Really helps me to understand my girl so much better. She is a love and I want to make sure she is a happy cat. Your insights always help.
Help! We’ve taken her in to the vet, no physical issues. She uses all the litter boxes. Never pees anywhere outside the boxes in the house. She seems to be wanting affection but she is terrified of actually having it. She will run from us but she comes to the bed for affection. She won’t allow us to touch her unless we are in the bed. Where she will purr, head butt, kiss but only in the bed and only for a few minutes. Then she gets scared and runs away again. We’ve tried everything. multiple medications of which she won’t take, feliway, calm collars, playing, loving, vet visits, even hiring a pet communication specialist. She was from a breeder hoarding situation but has lived with us for 1.5 years of her 1.75 years of life. and has had nothing but love at our home. Peeing on our bed is HORRIBLE. I won’t give up, but I’m beyond frustrated.
My cat has recently started to do this. I adopted her while I was out of work but now I have a job and have a change of schedule. Could this be a reason? I’ve done everything for the litter box set up and taken her to the vet. Im very patient with her and clean it up every time. I’m at a loss!
Me and my girlfriend adopted a stray cat all was good for the first two are three months. She already new to use the litter box. What we didn't know is she was pregnant. The kittens have been born and are in great health. But she just won't stop pissing on our bed. I make sure the litter box is clean. If she keeps it up we are going to s Spay and neuter her and micro chip and a Collar her but she will be a out side cat only. As of right now we keep the door to our bedroom closed at all times. Help please
Hi Shaun - I'm so glad that you took in this stray kitty and that her kittens are healthy - that's great! Please DO get her spayed as soon as possible - she will just go into heat again (soon!) and that is fun for no one - if she gets out, you'll have another litter of kittens on your hands, and cats in heat yowl and can get stressed out. It may even help with the house-soiling issue. But don't kick her outside after you get her spayed - while she's at the vet, make sure to get her examined and tested for any medical issue that might be the cause (crystals in her urine or a bladder infection). Then, make sure her litterbox setup is in tip-top shape - it's great that you're cleaning the box every day, but you may need to change something else about the box (and if there are kittens, do have multiple boxes!). Here are my tips for setting up a perfect litterbox: www.felinebehaviorsolutions.com/litterbox-setup-makeover/ There may be other stressors in your home, so make sure that your kitty is getting a lot of attention and play, and no punishment! She's not peeing on your bed to be a jerk or because she doesn't like you. If you need further help, do reach out to a cat behavior consultant (such as myself) who can help you identify and remedy stressors. If you need to talk with me, I have intro-consults available here: www.felinebehaviorsolutions.com/30min-intro-consult/ I hope this helps! - marci

I took in a cat from outside. Had been feeding him for about two years. In the last week he became an indoor cat and very affectionate with me. Then he peed on my bed. I got angry and put him back out and he ran off. I feel bad about getting mad and I really love this little animal, but I feel I ruined the bond and he will probably not return.😢
Oh, I'm so sorry you've had this experience, David. I hope that the kitty comes back - perhaps he will give you another chance? Do let me know. Living inside was new for him, and he was probably trying to intermingle his scent with yours; he could have been stressed, scared, or anxious depending on the situation. Can you transition him more gradually to an indoor lifestyle? With winter coming up, he may enjoying being indoors more. Make sure you have a few litterboxes around your home so that he doesn't have to go very far when the urge strikes. I hope that he shows up again - please let me know if he does! And don't be too hard on yourself - it's easy to get upset at something like this. Hopefully if it happens again you'll be better prepared to deal with the situation. And remember - he's not doing it to be a jerk or out of spite - try not to get too angry. Hang in there! - marci
What if my cat uses his box just fine for solid waste, but pees on any soft/cushy surfaces (beds, couches, blankets, etc.), reguardless of the state of his litterbox, and sometimes even uses his litterbox beforehand. Unfortunately, due to recent circumstances, the vet isn't an option. Are there any solutions that might be attempted until vet offices open again? It has become a such a problem that I worry I can no longer keep him if it isn't resolved soon.
So for years I have a cat that uses the living room as her literbox. She won't use the dang box unless its literal fresh litter not been used and there was no box in the living room ever. There is one now and still she pooped and pees on the carpet that was replaced. She won't use either of the 2 liter boxes. We now also have a 5 month old boy cat. Both cats are fixed. She still refuses to use a liter box and she has started to piss on my bed! She won't even leave my bedroom i have no idea where she is pooping bcuz I either see her on my bed or over by the cat food and water.
My kitten specifically started peeing on my bed after I took a 3 day trip(someone was watching her) and I have been back for 5 days and she has peed a total of 10 times. Each time I clean up the scent, she pees again, especially if I walk away. I have been feeding her, giving her play time, and she still pees each time. I get that she must be feeling separation anxiety, but it is hard to not feel that it isn't out of spite when she will be rubbing against me one minute and then as soon as I get up to do something, she pees again(she is still pooping and peeing in her litterbox too). Please help.
My mother's cat is coming to my house to pee on our bed. We never had any relation with that cat. My mother has litter boxes around her house, all the other 4 cata use it normally. Only this one changed months ago. My cat is being chased by that deranged cat for months now. The cat used to be calm and not leave the interior of my mother's house. Now it just wants to be either following my cat or coming into my house to pee and poop. I found pee and poop on my bed today because I left the door open for like 3 minutes while I was hanging clothes to dry outside.
It’s been a year to my cat being with me he pees sometimes like rarely but still he pees out of the litter box whereas the litter box is right next to him. What should I do?

YOU ARE A GODDESS THANK YOU!!!! Recently got a baby girl kitten. My bed room and bathroom are connected. She was SO scared when I first brought her home. She would hid behind my toilet. I let her be, had her bed and liter box next to the toilet as well. Remind you, every time she was scared she’d hid behind the toilet! When you mentioned the placement, it all clicked. She associated that area to be when she’s scared. So of course she was peeing in my bed at night. Thanks so much! She is for the first time in her liter box using it:,))))
My cat just pissed on my clothes pile I had just set on my floor to sort before taking it to the laundry room!!! He made eye contact with me during & looked pleased with himself after 🤔😮😠 He has a perfectly clean litter box too!!!
My cat just started doing this. Super frustrating. Two available boxes close by, 4 in the house. It was right after playing, I took a bathroom break. I don’t get it.
My cat has been peeing on furniture for ten years now. I’ve taken him to the vet again and again and there’s no problem causing it. He was one of two kittens that were dumped in our yard and whom we adopted. This cat peed on our bed the first time he came into the house, as a kitten. He pees on any pile of clothes he sees. Laundry baskets are his favorite, and my Labrador’s bed is another favorite place. Or the cushion on the chair I sit on. I have three cats and the other two are fine with the litter boxes. I clean the litter boxes twice a day. I just saw that he’s just peed in the dog bed again today. Help!
Hi, my cat goes to the bathroom on my bed every every time someone comes and leaves my house. Her kitty litter is always clean. How can I get her to stop?
I have taken my cat to the vet. She had a urinary tract infection but it went away. I had it double checked it’s gone, but she won’t stop peeing on the bed help
I have 3 different litter boxes i have 2 kittens and one adult cat who loves the kittens. I am extremely gentle loving and understanding with all 3. I make sure to give each other undivided attention love and understanding. Twice now my male kitten has peed on my bed. I’m getting the kittens fixed on the 15th of this month i will let the vet know about what’s going on. But if it’s not health wise what else do i do 😞.
Hello! please help me:((( My cat pees on my bed. I've taken her to the vet they said she's okay physically and gave her medication for her behavior but I really don't see that much of a difference. I changed her litter boxes and added one more. I scoop daily. and I've been sleeping on the couch for the past month and she hasn't peed on the couch. I feel like it's something about my blanket that she thinks it's a big litterbox. I try to keep her out of my room but she likes it there. I live alone so I too prefer to have her around at night. I'm just out of ideas now:(
my kitten (5months) has never peed outside of litter box since we got him at 3 months recently moved houses and 1 week before we moved he started peeing on my mums bed that whole week always my mums bed well her duvey - he stopped doing it after we moved for maybe 4/5 days then did it again and then stopped another 5 days then again. i dont know what to cos there was even one time he was in the room where the litter box was right in front of him but he peed on the duvet. my mum wants to give him away because of this i dont know what to do.
well it's been a month and he stopped for 2 weeks and then he did it again after so no change hopefully this neautring will help because i really dont know what else i can do
One of my family members does not like my cat, and she knows that! So she peed on that person’s bed more then 10 times 😢😢 took her to the vets and she is fine, but because of re-occurring problem l had to let her go 😢😢😢 it broke my heart to see her go!
There is a stray I have been feeding. I put out a cat bed with a blanket on my porch so she could have somewhere warm to sleep. But she pees in the bed. Is this solvable?
My cat defecates or urinates on my bed when I have a visitor over. I cannot accept this behaviour. How can I stop it? He is 5 months old and very fearful (he hides most of the day). I've had him for a couple of weeks. He has been moved to three different homes during his short life. He did not do this earlier but started when I got him from his former owner who had developed a serious allergy. He has sometimes done his business on other fabrics as well.
It sounds like he's very scared; two weeks is not very long for a cat to adjust to a new home, especially if this is his third home in the span of only five months. Please give him some time to adjust; I strongly advise getting a waterproof blanket for your bed just to be on the safe side. But please see the description under this video for a link to setting up a good litterbox (there may be something about it he doesn't like). There are a couple of links there for you that might help as well. Try to be patient with this little guy - he has had it rough it sounds like, and he needs time to build trust with you. Take him to the vet if this behavior continues, as stress can cause urinary issues (which may be a contributing factor). - marci
@@FelineBehaviorSolutions Thank you! I am willing to be patient, but I am worried he will keep doing this whenever someone comes over (which is not often). I live alone with him. Would spraying Feliway on the bed help? I have some. I was thinking of getting some cover for my bed, yes. I was also wondering if this had to do with him starting to mark his territory and if his upcoming sterilization would help with this kind of problem.
@@AWalkingHat Neutering may very well help, but this doesn't sound like territorial marking to me. Cats seek out beds because 1) they may be feeling insecure and need to surround themselves with their scent (or mix it with the scent of their guardian) to help them feel more secure; or 2) they are looking for something soft because it hurts to use the litterbox (e.g., if they have a UTI or urinary crystals). If this is stress-related, try to make sure he gets plenty of playtime every day with a wand toy - this will help build his confidence, increase the bond with you, and relieve stress. Make sure you check to see that his litterbox is set up correctly, too. But get him neutered asap! - marci :)
My cat is 1 year old. After 2/3 months I didn’t notice from when she started peeing on blankets then start peeing on everywhere then I find out she started her heat stage very soon. I thought may be because of that. So, I spayed her. Then everything was going very fine but again winter comes I find out she is doing it again. I thought may be because of litter box problem or pressure at night but no I saw today she just came on my blanket peed and run way. I am very stressed I don’t know what to do
What about pooping on the bed? I adopted my 6 year old kitty a few weeks ago. Tonight for the first time, while I was in the shower, he pooped on my bed. Every time I go to take a shower, he meow meow meows, and finally tonight, I came out to a nice big pile of poop on my bed...separation anxiety???
Oooh - that can be a different matter. It could be anxiety, but most of the time, pooping outside of the box has a physical or medical component. Even being just a little bit constipated, or having a touch of diarrhea can cause a lack of control. Meowing can be an indication of pain, so I would get him checked out by a vet to make sure he's ok. Since he does this exclusively when you take a shower, you might try keeping the door open to the bathroom if he seems to be anxious about being separated from you. Since he's still new to your home he may still be adjusting - just reassure him that you're there and things will be ok. I hope this helps! - marci :)
I tried everything to get my male cat to stop urinating on my bed and furniture. Nothing worked and I had to have him rehomed by the rescue. It broke my heart but the cost to replace my mattress, loveseat and sofa was a lot and there is no way of getting rid of the cat piss smell. 💔🤢
My cat has peed on dirty laundry on the floor/shelf or wrapping paper in a box or basket. It seems like that he only pees on a certain kind of texture. Does it mean he prefers clay litter rather than the wood pellet kind I am using? He also pees in his own crate, where I leave blankets in for padding. He also pees on the bed in our guest room sometimes, while he never pees on my bed that he often sleeps in with me.
It could be that your kitty doesn't like the wood pellet litter; you can try different substrates to see if that works better. But I would get him checked out by a veterinarian as soon as possible to rule out medical issues, since he seems to be urinating in a variety of places. And, check out my article about making sure your litterbox setup is in tip-top shape: www.felinebehaviorsolutions.com/litterbox-setup-makeover/ I hope this helps! - marci
My cat peed on my wife's side of the bed...but yesterday my wife had a long shift at work, which is unusual, then came home stressed. My cat checked out her work bag for several minutes before peeing right on my wife's sleep spot ..I think she might be anxious. I'm taking my cat to the vet, anyway, but I feel bad about it
My new kitten first climbed on my back in the bed and shit on me and now has pissed 3 times in the bed anytime I leave the room. I could be gone 10 seconds and she tried to pee. My mattress and blankets are stained with piss these things aren’t easy to clean. Ugh I need a solution to this it can’t continue. She uses the litter box but also matts by the toilet and sometimes in the bath. Her ideal spot is my bed apparently..
my cat suddenly peed on me and on the bed. i do have another cat and havnt taken her to get fix and she is in heat. and i kept chasing him away from her. could this be the problems that he is behaving like that?
I took my cat to the vet but the vet said he was just in heat, but he isn't spraying he's full on peeing everywhere, he poops in his litterbox, I don't know what to do, he's stressing me out....
I have two cats. I came home from staying one night at my friends place and the pillow and part of my blanket smelled of pee!! This always happens if I’m gone for a night or two. It doesn’t matter if I come back and spend time with them in the day. One time I was gone for a week on a work trip (my roommates fed the cats) and oh yes the entire mattress reeked of cat pee!!! Had to get a new mattress. I know that it’s because Bella and I cuddle at night and when I’m gone she misses me but that’s a shame she feels insecure about our relationship. Literally my life revolves around her and Stella. What can I do when I’m gone for a night to keep my kitty secure that I still love her and will be coming back??
@@annabroadhead4068 maybe you could put a big plastic tarp or something similar over your entire bed when you’re gone and make sure it’s thick enough the cats can’t scratch through it. Also secure it down so the cats can’t burrow up from the bottom. Good luck.
I'm having an issue with two Male cats my cat hope was born disfigured in his front paws and hes fixed. My roommates cat is not fixed and I think the cats trying to mark territory or something because I've cleaned my mattress multiple times cuz this is now becoming a bad regular. I dont think it's the placement of the litter box cuz it's open easy in the bathroom. Idk what to do at this point
im currently working with a fiv colony cat who was going to be euthanized with the rest of the colony. shes currently in and out of the crate in my spare room, but over the last two nights ive left her to roam in the room. i went in the room today to spend some time with her and their was pee all over my bed pillow i left in the room to sit on the floor with. She was really unhappy last night. i tried to give her some time to roam the main house while i was locked in my bedroom with my cat. the colony cat just wanted out the door and was crying for a good portion of the night. she has almost no interet in me but really wants to be friends with my cat but she comes on way too strong and freaks my cat out.
My cat started peeing on our bed recently. First time husband and I went out of town and he was left alone for 3 days with our roommate. Second time, we left him in the bedroom alone so we could eat dinner. I think he feels alone or has some sort of separation anxiety. We got him during quarantine and we don’t leave him alone often :( I think he gets scared
My cat peed on my bed! I kicked her out of my room. I didnt wanna be rude but the litter box was right near by and she just peed while i was using the bathroom. Also i have a question. Can i wash my bed accessories and they will be fresh or will the sent still be present?
Moved in with a friend, and his cat pees on anything with my scent on it. I put my dirty clothes in a huge plastic bag, and he pees on the bag. Why is this cat targeting me?
My cat used ocassionally pees on my bed. but this week he pooped in my closet and peed on me when I was sleeping. Dont know what to do please any advice. My cat is 1.5 years old

Our cat pees also in the litter box but also on the couch and bed... and one of the litter boxes is exactly next to the couch... She just does it like that, right in front of us... What should we do?!?!?
Hi, I have 3 cats. 2 female & 1 male. This 1 female start peeing on my bed & couch for the past few days. I’m so disappointed. She used to be kind & smart enough to pee on her littered for the past 3 years. 😔
My male cat peed on my bed a bunch of times and then my moms so I thought maybe it was just cause I needed him neutered and he is neutered and weeks later peeing on my bed again and he is a very aggressive cat a lot of the time and is destroying my moms walls by clawing them! Please help

So this behavior started 2 days ago. I was preparing for school and having breakfast. And then my cat peed on my bed, when we got him out and changed the mattress, he literally peed on it again. We didn't do anything because it was the first time. Yesterday, it was in the same scenario, but he only peed once. We got worried but waited. Then today, we had playtime in the evening and after he played, i was applying some medication for my skin and then i saw him peeing and i carried him out. Please help me. He has been checked by the vet and he's ok, also his litter box is in a good place, idk what else to do.
Hi Weird Turtle - did they do a urinalysis at the vet and check for crystals? If you don't know, please call your veterinarian again to make sure those things were done. There are a bunch of things that your kitty may not like about the litterbox, so take a look at these tips, here: www.felinebehaviorsolutions.com/litterbox-setup-makeover/ Then, you'll want to look at stressors. Is he anxious? Do you play with him every day with a wand toy? Is he bored? Does he have good relationships with everyone in the home (including other pets)? There are several things to investigate, so if you need help, consider reaching out to a cat behavior consultant; I have intro-consults available here: www.felinebehaviorsolutions.com/30min-intro-consult/ I hope this helps! - marci
Hi! So idk why but my cat although he has a perfectly clean litter box prefers to use the bed. It's a spare one but still he's peed on it so many times and idk how to rid the smell. During the day I check him and take him to pee, but at night I'm asleep so I can't, and almost every morning I wake up to pee or sometimes even poop on the bed. How do fix this??
My docile cat is peeing around the house & in my bed the past 2 days b/c I adopted another cat over a year ago who bullies her. They are both fixed, females & I have tried every trick or suggestion I have been given, short of getting a shock collar to put on the naughty cat. I will try anything b/c I might have to rehome aka Bratface, so Bella can live a happy life. Please help if you can.
I have a new cat and he's almost 1 yr old. It's his 3rd day at home today and he peed for the first time. But he did it on the bed of his safe room and not on the litter box 😭 He's never used his litter box how do i make him 😭 Few moments before that happened he I petted him for the first time.
Hi Kiara - Please watch the video. If it took him three days to urinate, he may have a blockage which is very serious; I strongly recommend getting him to a vet to make sure everything is ok. Additionally, moving to a new home can be very stressful. Please see the resources in the description of this video for tips on how to best set up your cat's litterbox. Thanks!
My pregnant cat I got from a friend is very sociable and I knew her before, I clean the cat box every single day(it’s just in the other room she could easily get to it) but when I walked in she was digging at my mattress like the way she does when she pees in the cat box, she does this to my dads side of the bed also and it’s starting to get out of hands. I don’t think she is uncomfortable with me and my dad because she comes up to us more unlike anyone else in the house, she purposely does this, she won’t pee on our bed when we aren’t in the room. She came from a crowded busy house to a calm quiet one so I don’t know what’s going on
Hi Mohammad - first thing to do is take your cat to the vet to make sure he doesn't have a medical issue - have them do a urinalysis and check for urinary crystals. It sounds like he's trying to tell you something is wrong.
I've been feeding a mommy cat ,& tom cat ,with 3 kittens ,some kind hearted person dumped them, I got his car details but I was told there is no law on cats ,as there a wild species, (didn't know that) one of the kittens 5wks at most .as I was leaveing the house kitty sneaked in to my house ,the kitten pee,ed on my brothers bed only He felt so upset that the kitten picked on him 😂 some cat spray in a pet shop did the trick ,but no more cats are allowed to be fed so near the house .
I hope I can get my question answered. I am so desperate. We got a kitten 15 weeks old, today is her 5th day at our home. Today when I sat down on my bed I realized it was wet and when I smelled it, it almost did not smell but I did guess that the kitten has peed on my bed. Note, the door where her litter box was closed by one of my family member. Maybe she could not wait any longer and peed there? After that she has been doing her business in litter box P.S the kitten is my sister’s but yesterday night she slept with me the whole night.
omg Im so mad and upset this is yhe 3rd time this has happened my 3month old kitten peed on 2 of our beds now mine and twice on my daughters. He has never made a mistake on the floor since we got him he gets attention more than enough he is literally our little baby BUT Im really upset this happens 1 more time I cant and wont be able to keep him and that sounds mean but I cant have this kitten ruining my beds and just wont.. it is 6:00 am just woke up to this mess while i was in the bed.. I just dont understand it what was meant to be a new addition is turned into a nightmare i dont know what to do.
Hi I have a 15 yr old Tortoise shell female cat and has started peeing on my bed. We had 2 pet rabbits and one recently passed away, and thats when she started to pee. Its driving me nuts, shes done it now twice, and dont know what to do next.
Hi Rita - the urinating may or may not be related to the rabbit who passed (my condolences to you - I know how hard that is). Have you taken her to the vet? There's a strong correlation between stress and urinary issues in cats, and your cat's passing may have caused stress (via grief) that has turned into a medical issue. So, it's important that you get her checked out. If she is cleared medically, you may want to talk with a cat behavior consultant to determine what is causing the problem and how to resolve it. I offer introductory consultations here: www.felinebehaviorsolutions.com/30min-intro-consult/ I'm sorry that your kitty is going through something; let me know if you would like to talk. But do check in with a veterinarian soon! - marci
@@FelineBehaviorSolutions Thank you so much for your prompt response. I will take her to the vet as soon as I can. Her second pee was yesterday, hopefully all it is is just grief, but Ive got a funny feeling, she wont be around much longer Torty's life span are only supposed to be 15 years. Her passing will be hard, I saw her be born, now I may watch her die. Thats life huh. Thanks again really appreciate your time and help.
@@ritazammit2544 Don't give up on her - she may not be ready to go quite yet! Grief is perfectly normal and she may be looking for comfort by blending her scent with yours as a self-soothing measure. Let your vet know your concerns and give her as much (or as little) attention as she wants. Torties are very special kitties - I had one that I still miss today.
my cat has been peeing on my bed on/off for weeks now and she has multiple litter boxes (one in the room & outside), playing with her, spending time with her and i’m getting so frustrated having to wash my sheets every other day. i’m so desperate at this point
My cat pee when is sleeping, also in any time on the day even though he has his litter box and play...I sent him to the vet but different vets we went to didn't gave me any solution :/...
Hi Rocio - did the vets take a urine sample to see if he had any crystals present (which can cause pain), or examine him for a bladder infection or cystitis? If not, please do tell the vets to do that so you can rule out a medical cause. Urine tests are very important! Alternatively, there may be something wrong with his litterbox setup. Make sure his litterbox setup is in tip-top shape - I have some pointers here: www.felinebehaviorsolutions.com/litterbox-setup-makeover/ If you still need help, I do offer consultation services to help you figure things out: www.felinebehaviorsolutions.com/services/ Good luck! - marci
Hi Lagan - that is strange! It could have been stress - if he was in a new environment, he may have been wanting to make himself feel more secure by intermingling his scent and yours. If he starts doing it again, make sure you get him to the vet to see if he's medically ok, then take a look at your litterbox setup (there's a link to my guide in the video description). - marci
I had my cat for 3 years now she is fixed this morning she jumped on my bed as she usually does went under my blankets near my stomach and sprayed me I'm angry and concerned at the same time I don't know what to do I hope this doesn't start some type of reoccurring Behavior
Please don't be angry - if she just had her spay surgery, that could have been the reason she sprayed. Surgery and trips to the vet can be very stressful; she may have been trying to reinforce her own scent in a place where you and your scent is strongest - it may have been a self-soothing measure. Do take her back to the vet for an exam if she continues to do this though. - marci
My cat is a 6.5 year old rescue and has urinary crystals but I just had his urine checked and he is good. But yet he is peeing on my guest bed every night when me and my husband are sleeping. He has 2 litter boxes will pee on the bed but still poop and pee regular in his boxes. I just don’t get it. I put down a plastic cover on the bed so it’s easy to clean but I’m tired of cleaning cat pee every morning and my husband will make me give him up if he didn’t stop.
Hi Leila - I'm so sorry that you're having this issue; I'm glad that you were able to get him to a vet who saw those urinary crystals. Are you managing that with diet? They come and go with pH, and it's possible that your kitty may have built up an association of pain with the litterbox, which could be why he's going elsewhere. Make sure that his litterbox setup is PURRFECT - check out my article here to learn about the things you can change: www.felinebehaviorsolutions.com/litterbox-setup-makeover/ After that, you'll want to make sure that you're giving him plenty of playtime and enrichment opportunities - this will keep his stress levels lowered. And, if there is a strained relationship in the home (between your cat and husband, maybe?) have him play with your kitty, give him treats, and feed him - make an effort to bond with the kitty. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you - if you need to, I offer intro-consults (and other services) where I can give you additional help: www.felinebehaviorsolutions.com/30min-intro-consult/ Good luck! - marci
Hi there, we got a kitten a week ago. She was peeing in her litterbox till Saturday. Saturday morning she peed in our bed at my husband side, she did the same yesterday and today. Always only once in the morning and then she continues using her litterbox. We are very confused on what causing this behavior. Thanks
Hi there - you're going to want to make sure that everything is ok with her; I'd get her checked out by a vet, since a new home can be stressful, and stress can result in urinary/bladder infections, etc. Then, please make sure her litterbox is in tip-top shape: www.felinebehaviorsolutions.com/litterbox-setup-makeover/ I hope this helps! - marci
Our male cat only pees in our room on my girlfriend’s stuff. If it’s anywhere else in the apartment, he doesn’t do it even if it’s her stuff. Do we just keep him out of the bedroom?
My aunt has 10 Cats.. she's has 7 litterboxes but they are across the basement where I sleep. I don't know what cat it is.. I have a disability and when I need to rest, I don't expect to come and have a fresh pee spot and pee smell to help me sleep..do they hate me? Do I smell funny cuz I'm part black? I'm the everyone else here is white..I feel like I'm not allowed to sleep in my own bed..
Oh no! Magenta, I'm sorry to see this. It sounds like your aunt may have too many cats for her home, and having only 7 litterboxes all in the same room (basement) is not going to work for them. Are they kept clean (being scooped out at least once per day)? That is VERY important! I'm positive that the cats are not peeing on your bed because you are black, or because they don't like you. Can you keep your bed out of the area where the cats are in the basement, or move your bed to another part of the home? The cats may be peeing on your bed because they are unfamiliar with you and want to intermingle their scent with yours. Or, were the cats peeing outside of their litterboxes before you arrived there? At any rate, Please do look at this article for some litterbox setup tips and share them with your aunt: www.felinebehaviorsolutions.com/litterbox-setup-makeover/. I hope this helps! - marci
My cat pees on my bed and scratches up my blankets. And not that long ago my parents got me a new blanket. I really liked it. It was nice and soft. and today my cat pissed on my new blanket and scratched it up. And I cleaned the litter box on the same day she peed on it.
So I took her twice. The second time proved that she did have a UTI but my vet can’t tell if it’s from mental causes or a physical cause that led to the UTI. It’s been about two weeks
And she just peed on my bed last night again. I’ve switched food to urinary support, give her urinary support treats, and have tried the calming collars. I did room isolation and have the litter box set up. I am going to put her outside today because honestly I don’t trust her anymore. I’ll schedule another appointment to make sure she’s had all of her shots but I don’t know what to do further
Oh, sweet little boy. I would definitely take him to the vet to get checked out - he may not be litter-box trained yet, but it's unusual for kitties to pee while they are sleeping. A vet will be able to confirm that he's either healthy, or help you with treatment. Urinary issues can be very painful and even deadly, so a vet check is always a safe bet. - marci :)
My friend got new cat baby about 4-5 weeks old. But suddenly week after he peed twice in the bed. He also peeing in and pooping in the litter box as normal. One time he peed while playing and other time nobody wasn't home and he peed. His first vet visit is done and second on the way plus neutering. I wish to help her to understand why he did it.
Hi Lilly - yes, research has shown that cats don't like clumps in their litterbox; it sounds like you have a very particular kitty who prefers a very clean box. - marci
We rescued our cat Kiki from outside, she was the runt of the litter and was all mangled and scratched up. We got her to the vet for a checkup, shots , deworming , fleas , wound care etc… she only likes to have any human contact when she wants, and we let her be until she comes to us. She’s close with my son & I out of the 4 of us. She started to pee on my blankets / bedding and had even peed on me twice while I was sleeping. She would be sleeping on me and I’d wake up right after she peed on me. Eventually she started to pee on my son’s bedding. She only does this about every 2-3months and it can go on anywhere from 3-5days ( of course we try to keep our doors closed , but we forget sometimes) It seems she’s doing this when she’s in heat. I have a male dog & during this time she rubs on everything leaving her scent and my dog seems to thing she’s a female dog and she does this crying thing and my dog will go chase her, which it seems she is calling him..idk My son has bought his 2nd bed set with a nice mattress topper and she recently done this again. Her litter box is always in the exact some place with a cover on top for privacy, and we keep this in our mud room/ laundry room , with a gate so the dog can’t get to the litter or her. We wanted her to have a safe place with privacy. She doesn’t do this any other time so is it due to her being in heat or is it her saying something to us? Thanks I know you probably have to tell us to go to the vet ,but any information would be helpful. Plus do you have any suggestions on how to get the stains/ smell of the cat urine out of bedding? I did want to add ,tho my son loves her and is such a sweetheart he does get upset with Kiki and talks to her like she’s his daughter doing something that she shouldn’t be like draw on the walls or something 🤦🏻♀️ I’ll definitely send him this video so he knows why she may be doing this. Thanks again ❤️
Oh my gosh, thank you sooo much for the insight. My husband and I just recently adopted a kitten. She was doing fine for the first day and night. Second day, she peed on our bed, on my husband's side lol. Cleaning it up and being very patient with her. 🙂
Hi Winona - congrats on your new addition! I'm guessing that it was mostly due to stress from all the recent change in her life. I hope that the peeing has stopped and that she is learning that she can trust you and your husband. Patience is key! Let me know if you need help - marci
My cat peed on my bed multiple times and yes it is starting to make me 😡
Hey TC - I know it's super frustrating and annoying, but please try to understand that your cat isn't doing it to make you angry or out of spite or revenge.

Some Guy this just happened to me 10 mins ago. He has never done this in the 10 years I’ve had him.
We already went to the vet and he’s fine.
I give him treats and kisses and rubs and he still pees on my bed or my wall. Now he has peed on my headboard that is fabric and I wanna cry.
I’m happy to say the kitty returned and is now even more affectionate🥰. He has become a lap cat and occasionally sleeps next to me.
Thank the Lord King David..

I’m cracking up hahah this is exactly my situation with one kitten I have. My other cat does great.

My cat just started doing this. Super frustrating. Two available boxes close by, 4 in the house. It was right after playing, I took a bathroom break. I don’t get it.
Cat did this twice, has liter, not ill, and I am home often for attention. She’s no longer allowed in my bedroom..sorry cat
Help!
Two years ago a rescued another female on the back of my property, The female I had almost certain they January started peeing on my bed.
Hi, my cat goes to the bathroom on my bed every every time someone comes and leaves my house. Her kitty litter is always clean. How can I get her to stop?
This is a true story. My cat peed on my bed. After the 3rd time I peed on her bed. She never peed on my bed again
OMG this...
You're a genius ❤️💡 If would have just read this comment a few years ago, maybe I wouldn't hate cats that much
Can you explain why you peed on her bed? What message did it send?
@@Aright231Isn’t the “reason” clear enough.
As a dog trainer this is spot on
I have taken my cat to the vet. She had a urinary tract infection but it went away. I had it double checked it’s gone, but she won’t stop peeing on the bed help
He did it because I locked him in my room on accident. He did it at least twice. He is an adaptable cat tho.

- marci :)
Sorry but this made me laugh so hard Omg. Is he still pooing on your bed??
My cat has been peeing on my bed many times and I still don't understand why.
- marci

Close the bedroom door :)

im currently working with a fiv colony cat who was going to be euthanized with the rest of the colony. shes currently in and out of the crate in my spare room, but over the last two nights ive left her to roam in the room. i went in the room today to spend some time with her and their was pee all over my bed pillow i left in the room to sit on the floor with.

- marci

She came from a crowded busy house to a calm quiet one so I don’t know what’s going on
Why Persian male cat pee on me I have 1 male and 3 females , I play with all of them everyday
and love them same levels?
Hi Mohammad - first thing to do is take your cat to the vet to make sure he doesn't have a medical issue - have them do a urinalysis and check for urinary crystals. It sounds like he's trying to tell you something is wrong.
I've been feeding a mommy cat ,& tom cat ,with 3 kittens ,some kind hearted person dumped them, I got his car details but I was told there is no law on cats ,as there a wild species, (didn't know that) one of the kittens 5wks at most .as I was leaveing the house kitty sneaked in to my house ,the kitten pee,ed on my brothers bed only
He felt so upset that the kitten picked on him 😂 some cat spray in a pet shop did the trick ,but no more cats are allowed to be fed so near the house .
After that she has been doing her business in litter box
P.S the kitten is my sister’s but yesterday night she slept with me the whole night.
omg Im so mad and upset this is yhe 3rd time this has happened my 3month old kitten peed on 2 of our beds now mine and twice on my daughters.
What if you can’t afford the vet
My cat just pees on anyone's bed. He keeps doing it it's annoying.

- marci
My cat peed on my bed once and never again is that normal? Maybe because he’s in a new environment?
Make sure that his litterbox setup is PURRFECT - check out my article here to learn about the things you can change: www.felinebehaviorsolutions.com/litterbox-setup-makeover/
After that, you'll want to make sure that you're giving him plenty of playtime and enrichment opportunities - this will keep his stress levels lowered.
How to stop cat peeing on my bed??
adopted a kitten recently and it peed on my lap while he was sleeping, I work late at night and he tends to sleep close to me or on me until dawn.
- marci :)

One time he peed while playing and other time nobody wasn't home and he peed. His first vet visit is done and second on the way plus neutering. I wish to help her to understand why he did it.
My cat hates any poop or per in his litter box,if there is he goes straight to the bed

Thanks
I know you probably have to tell us to go to the vet ,but any information would be helpful.
Hey Winona did you come up with a solution? I realize it's been 3 years!
i got 2 female cats they aren’t sprayed/nueterd and they both pee in the litter box and blankets, beds, and everything
Wow. This was so incredibly helpful.
