    Tips for regular make up users from a dermatologists daughter; I use make up on a daily basis and I start with a thick layer of the la roche posay SPF 100, then apply my make up that's SPF 15 , set it with SPF 35 translucent powder from Supergoop (works AMAZING on oily skin) and then I put some Mac Powder over areas that I might need some extra coverage sometimes.
    If needed you can reapply the SPF powder but remember that the SPF doesn't stop working after 2hrs, so you really don't need to obsess or stress yourself out over re applying the sunscreen .. the SPF only decreases gradually. It doesn't vanish after 2hrs. And if you don't have direct sun exposure you don't need to reapply liquid sunscreen to keep your protection at a really good level.
    A little touch up with the SPF 35 powder is definetely enough to keep you perfectly covered (no pun intended lol)
    And for days where you gonna get a bigger dose of direct sun exposure (like beach days, hiking or outdoor activities/theme parks) just leave the foundation off and re apply the sunscreen. You can top it off just fine with the Supergoop SPF 35 powder or if you don't like that and look for a more affordable brand; 'the face shop oil clear smooth & bright powder SPF30 too if you don't want to look super shiny (at least that's what I do because personally I don't like looking shiny) and use waterproof mascara. Also a hint of bronzer if you like/want some definition.
    EDIT: After the question of an alternative for the La Roche Posay sunscreen came up a couple of times now - there's alternatives from 'Supergoop' that's called "unseen sunscreen" SPF 40 and the brand 'Hello Sunday' with their product "the one that's got it all" SPF 50 or the Biore Aqua Rich SPF 50. I'm using all of them, the absolute best under foundation. Doesn't affect it at all, doesn't crack or look greasy. Whenever I gotta make my make up last extra long for some reason those are my sunscreens of choice!
    Just remember to frequently re apply sunscreen onto your hands throughout the day after washing them.
    Peace and love ❤

      Well, I don't use concealer at all, I'm very fortunate not to have dark circles like EVER... but since most concealers are oil based and have a heavy consistency (I mean that's the point since it's made to provide max coverage, right?) almost every sunscreen will be messing with your under eye make up. The more products you "slather" on top of each other the more it's likely to crack and smudge.
      For me it was an absolute game changer to invest time into finding products that exactly match my skin tone and even keep the foundation in the whole eye area minimal! My make up is holding up perfectly about 16hrs easy peasy in the humid Florida weather. I mean I love make up and I'm all for women using it just the way they like and 2 years ago I caked it all on .. foundation, concealer .. heavy powders. So I can tell out of experience- nobody will notice a difference of you not wearing concealer under your eyes, especially if you're balancing it out with eye shadow! Just try it and make a wear test for a day, I'm almost certain your make up will look flawless all day long 🙂

    • @antoniakenzie
      @antoniakenzie 3 ปีที่แล้ว +35

      @@sincitydweller5287 yes, I do. Daily. .. that's why I' avoiding direct sun exposure, especially during the time between 11AM-4PM when I can. And like I said, I'm touching the SPF 100 sunscreen up with SPF 35 powder when/if being outside in direct sun exposure. And I always wear a nice base cap or sun hat. But like I said- no need to obsess and stress, the "2hrs rule" is for people being directly exposed to the sun. And it means the maximum coverage of the sunscreen will last for 2hrs - and after it'll gradually decrease.
      You do NOT need to re apply your sunscreen every 2hrs if you're not outdoors directly exposed to the sun. Touching it up once or twice will still leave you perfectly covered!
      And thank you for the compliment, you're super sweet! Have a nice day ❤

    To all people still looking for a way to reapply sunscreen in a full face of makeup, save your time, is not possible. Unless you only have your eyebrows done and use light setting powder but if you plan to use full contour, blush, eye shadow there is no way to not ruin it

      @Camila I work from home so I wear sunscreen but no make up on a daily basis. When I go out, I put sunscreen and a light setting powder and that's it, so If I'm out for hours I wipe it with a tissue and reapply sunscreen and powder again...even blush. It is a pain but it is what it is and I would do that same thing If I ever get back to work outside my home. I can't imagine how you could do that if you do your make up like a pro everyday, I mean contour, eye shadow and all that. Be sure to apply the two-finger rule for your face and neck. Avoid overapplying the sunscreen. Proper application will make it work wonders. I think probably one of her most asked questions is how to apply sunscreen over makeup. It’s not her fault that the range of options is very limited when it comes to colors and prices. She has a very detailed video on tinted sunscreens for all skin colors and she addresses she issues (when it comes to limited range) there as well. I believe she generally advises for darker skin to use chemical sunscreens as those don’t have a white cast.

    Dr dray what advice would u tell a 23 year old lost in life?😢

    • @1CE.
      @1CE. 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No one plans their life and actually ends up where they intended in 5 years
      Just live your life and you’ll end up somewhere better eventually or at least reach a satisfactory point or find love
      We’re still young. Our bodies work and our mind is all there, these things will go away one day. Life hasn’t began to suck yet basically but as long as we’re aware now we can be prepared in the future so it doesn’t totally crush us
      Success is the best form of revenge and that goes for nature too

    • @donohoe0
      @donohoe0 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t know if this helps, but I wait about 15 minutes after putting on my sunscreen, then apply my make-up. That way you give it time to ‘soak in’. You can apply your make-up anyway you want.

    • @1CE.
      @1CE. 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You should be waiting for it to dry completely. I’d just look at your products label and see when they recommend you should wait before getting sun exposure as not all products are the same
      Some will be 15 others 30

    I tend to set it with a powder with spf to cut the shine.
