i’m a firefighter and i actually created a shortcut like yours. BUT, instead of creating a new alarm, it toggles an existing alarm on. no need to create and delete alarms. works well for fire, police and nurses!!
I have the same one like yours. I’m a nurse. But instead of deleting an alarm, I think we can modify our shortcut and use the one in this video instead. I’ll go and experiment.

Love the shortcuts. Have you thought about making one when AirPods are fully charged? I find it had to set up as how the AirPods connect and disconnect
i comment many times beacause i really need it . when i am in class i change my phone sound mode to ring to vibration by pressing the action button but accidentally sometimes music are plays . so i need a shortcut that i will press the acyion button and all kind of sounds of my phone will mute or stop . and i can set all the sounds normal mode by again pressing that button. I will really waitting for your video thank you.

Is there a way to do the set alarm by shift with different shift time? Something that will detect my work start time then create an alarm based on that

Hi! Love your videos! I have a request. My wife is a pre school teacher and she has to take a lot of photos of the kids with her phone, and she keeps complaining about having to manually sort all of the pics. I created a shortcut that lets her take pics, say the name of the kid, and it will find/create a folder with the kid’s name and save the picture in there. But I could only make it work by taking only one picture or having to choose how many pics you’re going to take before hand… Do you know what to do about that? Thanks a lot!

I know I can silence unknown callers, but is there a way via shortcuts to only allow calls from my Contacts as well as from a specific area code, and silence everybody else? I could do it on Android with MacroDroid or Tasker and I’ve been looking for a way to replicate it on iOS.
Thanks! And that's a tough one. Focus Modes is only certain contacts, and there's no "filter by one this area code" unfortunately. Sorry about that!

Or maybe just a drop down notification?
Thank you! And you can set the notification in Settings to Banner but turn off "persistent" so it just slides down and back up automatically
@@beardfm that’s on at default I think cos it does it already lol, I mean so in the Lock Screen I don’t have tons of notifications just telling me small things like that the vpn was activated I just want that to act like a drop down if it’s a drop down that doesn’t stay on the Lock Screen

Does shortcuts work with the Ring products? Like camera when they are triggered, if a door is opened.
Unfortunately not since ring doesn't integrate with HomeKit. You can use workarounds like Homebridge but I've found that can be flaky.

Can you create a shortcut that shuffles a playlist but does not repeat the artist? Or spaces out songs from an artist? The one thing I dislike about Apple's and Spotify's shuffle feature is that sometimes they play songs from the same artist back to back. I'm wondering is a shortcut can do this.

Regarding the alarm by shift. Why not calculate the time when the alarm should go off instead of setting a specific time? I mean, when working in shifts you usually need an alarm at different times on different days.

I have two questions
1.Can you make a shortcut for turning on hotspot with timer so it turns off on its own
2.can you make a shortcut with nfc that triggers when placed near it and triggers again when you take it away from it
Exmple - when im going to sleep i place my phone on a nfc that triggers low power mode then when in wake up and take the phone low power mode turns off on its own

Yep, I'd recommend BTT or Karabiner-Elements. You can run shortcuts from a script using the command "shortcuts run 'My Shortcut Name'"

Love the idea of the Shift alarm but it would be better if the alarm is set for say an hour before shift starts rather than a set time. Most people have events that could use this shortcut principle but not always at the same time for every occurrence. Is that possible? Get event from calendar and set alarm for xx minutes before it starts?

@@beardfmis it just me or is there a bug in shortcuts as when setting the alarm based on upcoming events the Otherwise step is find alarms with the specified label and delete them (which is meant to remove the old alarms)
Seems like shortcut cannot filter just to the specified label correctly and wants to delete any alarms regardless of label.
I made a simple shortcut. Take screenshot, and share it. The problem is I would like it in my iOS 18 control center. How do I close the control center before it takes the screenshot?
For now I have a wait for 2 seconds action. So I have 2 seconds to close the control center

Anyone know how to put location services as always for a specific app when I arrive to a destination and have it disabled for the app when I am out of the location?
Unfortunately you can't adjust per-app notification settings from Shortcuts.
I love how single tap is efficient and super effortless compared to the double tap on android.
- But when I’m on “study” focus mode I want that tap to wake feature to be turned off (to limit DISTRACTIONS).
Is it possible to do so?
I wish you could adjust that with a Shortcuts action but you have to jump into settings for that.

TRying the Save Dog Photos, changing it to Ragdoll cats. I Get a red flag on "Recognize objets..." And it comes from starting the shortcut. The message that preceeds is "This action is trying to share 10 Photo items, which is not allowed. You can allow this in settings." Which settings?Toolbox Pro? Albums?

Not sure if this has been made already, but I’m trying to find a shortcut that will start a Timer and name the timer.
To seek help about that, I’d suggest you go to the r/shortcuts subreddit, there are plenty of people to help you :)
It's not possible at this time to name a timer directly via shortcuts, but if using the screen is okay then actions exist to copy the name of the timer you want, open the timers screen on Clock app, and then the only thing needed is to select the timer created via Shortcut and paste its name in via the action which copied it to the clipboard.

It's easy. Create a shortcut for the volume. Media volume 0 ringing volume 0. ←If you tap this shortcut, all volumes will be 0. To return the volume, the media volume is 50 and the incoming volume is 50. ←Tap this shortcut to return.
