I tweaked the concepts, but took the core idea and now I have plenty of different automations that I can use whether it be GroupMe, emails, or a group text message as a manager that makes my life so much easier! The book highlight shortcut is very helpful specially for me. I can use it to take a picture of book written in French then ask it to translate it to English and also provide me pronunciation of French words as well.

i’ve tried a few different shortcuts for grabbing text from an image and adding an event to a calendar. but none of them worked properly. any tips with that?
What i need is a morning automation which suggests me to go to a certain work location based on traffic. So let's say 3 locations, go to location 1 but if driving distance is more than 1 hour... go to location 2 or 3 but only if driving to location 3 is shorter than 1.5 hours. So locations all have different distances but one of them can have heavy traffic.

Hey! You can create an Automation for time of day, say 9am, and then add one action: Always On Display: On. Then create a second one for 9pm which turns it off!

I have a couple long emails and documents. I have tried that clearly hit the limit of what ChatGPT cons summarize. I guess I will have to be buying the full version if I want those summarized. Any suggestions on how to modify your code to perhaps chop up the text? Not sure if this would work because it’s unclear how that would divide the meaning.
@@beardfm Can’t see a good way … as it would cause issues in summarizing midway through a point when you split … have to write some fancy code to split by paragraphs, but only paragraphs that add up to the word maximum. I try to automate incoming email from specific email address and it’s not triggering. Does the shortcut work with iOS Outlook app? And with ChatGPT 3.5?
GPT 3.5 yes, but unfortunately it only works with the stock mail app. You could add that account to the phone just for receiving the mail, but turn off all notifications for the stock mail app and just leave it in the App Library
@beardfm - Did you get your Regular Expression question answered? I don't see that, but the expression below, with X being the number of characters to skip and Y being the number of characters to capture, should enable you to iterate through the 4k chunks. (?

All the negative chatter in the comments just sounds like people who want definitive reasons to upgrade every year. For someone like myself upgrading from a 12pro this will be phenomenal. If you have a 14 or 15 this probably isnt for you. These phones last a while. Upgrading every 3-4 years will make you a bit more satisfied with the collection of innovations.

At this point, ive just accepted that my data is out there, and i am in no way gonna have any control over it. I can ask apps not to track me, i can try every limiter on it in the book, but some data is still out there in some corner of the web. Id rather not think about it and just enjoy my tech experience.

Are you running on a Mac? Some of the web-based / article actions don’t run well there. Try on an iPad or iPhone

If you schedule an automation by time it will run every day (or on whatever days you choose) automatically.
For the summarize podcast gpt, is there any way to get the transcript and then save it in a doc file (pdf, txt etc) and have that uploaded to chatgpt?
Good suggestion, but the Shortcut actions don’t allow you to upload documents to ChatGPT, you only get text interaction

It's one of the reason I like using the Shortcuts actions here, the only data being sent is the text in the prompt I'm creating.
