    Excellent Bass! This is only one step below Custom Shop, and a great remake of the iconic 1960 P bass. This Bass, like any USA Fender will hold it's value better than any knock off, in my experience of being a Professional Bassist and Guitarist for 30 + years. I like how these models are year specific, rather than decade span on the voicing and builds.

    • @jcesare1

      A real 1960-61 would be really wide at the nut - 1.75 and fairly shallow in depth, much less than a seventies. My favorite depth. This? Who knows, and it would be nice to play one IN PERSON instead of buying everything online.

    • @josephlafreniere9813
      @josephlafreniere9813 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe it’s mentioned in a different video as a 1.70 nut width? Here it’s a 7.25 radius and a slab board which should be thicker than a rounded veneer.

      @@jcesare1 Because People have too much Money on their Hands? If an Item becomes collectible the price becomes what people are willing to pay and not for the quality of the item. You see high prices on old junk just because they're Vintage. Old Instrument is not equal good quality. Fair enough, some of the older Instruments feel and sound great but the prices are ridiculous and most of the instruments never get played at local gigs. I rather prefer CS or AVRI Instruments.

    You can see the bridge saddles not straight in the official Fender demo... I really don't get those "features" on premium instruments.

    • @DeskLamp129
      @DeskLamp129 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They’re supposed to be “not straight”. You adjust them back and forth to make sure the strings are in tune when you play higher up the neck. Any properly set up bass will have the saddles moved around

    • @FrancoGrimoldi
      @FrancoGrimoldi 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DeskLamp129 : I know that, I've setting up my basses for 25+ years. What I meant is that the individual saddles are not straight. Those "vintage" bridges do nothing to prevent the saddles from moving around, that's something that almost any "basic" bridge can do without trouble. For instance, the very cheap Gotoh 203B-4 has two grooves that secure the G and E saddles, holding everything together.

    • @geerhoar
      @geerhoar 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Call me crazy, but those bent metal Fender bridges are something I actually retrofit onto my basses. If the nut is cut properly, and one positions the strings well, lateral movement can be minimized with a lighter playing style. I love them because I can get the action really low, and they are lightweight and often assist (along with light weight tuners) in reducing the effects of dead spots and enabling bass balancing.

    • @reggaebass1857
      @reggaebass1857 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It’s called a tug bar, some people hook their fingers under it if they are playing with the thumb, in later years they moved it above the strings as a thumb rest
