As someone who pined for a '52 Reissue and was disappointed when that was discontinued, I'm relieved and happy to see this. I'll be getting one of these sometime next year.

@@NBodi Not yet. Part of the reason was many dealerships closing their stores, and I’m the type who likes to play before buying. I found one at a local GC that (predictably) was set up horribly, so the search continues…

God bless Fender guitars for making the guitar like this

  • @IamMagPie

It's funny that when a guitar has a slim neck, it is "super comfortable and plays like a dream". When a guitar has a big, chunky neck it is also "super comfortable and plays like a dream". Anyone ever hear a manufacturer say their guitar has an uncomfortable neck? How comfortable it is depends on the subjective preferences of the player, I would guess.

bought a Squier CV Butterscotch blonde and it blew me away. I never bought a "cheap" guitar before but let me tell you, there is nothing wrong with it, and plenty of really good things. It looks exactly the same as this Fender (really pretty by the way).

I have 2 Squires and they're both exceptional. I have a 2015 Silver Strat and a Lake Placid blue Thinline Cabrontia Tele. They sound great, play great, look great and were inexpensive. Now really. What more do you want?

Nothing wrong with a budget guitar. But you would have to own one of these to truly feel the craftsmanship. And a true maple neck. I love my american 51!

  • @RobCabreraCh

I am really torn between the 51 and the 63 telecasters. I want to get one, I've played numerous telecasters through the years, but I've never owned one.
Well this year, this new series came at just the right time. I am set to move to another country within the next couple of weeks, and as much as it will hurt me (emotionally and financially), I will have to leave my awesome home studio and all of its gear behind.
So I decided that within the first couple of weeks of living there, I am going to buy a new guitar and a practice amp to play at the hotel or whatever housing I'm placed in. And I have decided that I'm getting an American Telecaster or (really stepping it up here) a Custom Shop Les Paul. I've never owned either of those guitars, and I want a really good one to start my new life at a new country strong.
But I just can't decide if I want to go uber cassic with the butterscotch blonde Tele, one of my dream guitars, albeit rather mainstream. Or if should go with the 61 Tele, which I know for a fact is better suited to my playstyle, but with a finish that I am not entirely in love with.
I could still decide to throw my plan out the window, and buy another dream guitar of mine, a Martin OM-28. But I know that I won't be able to live with myself if I don't have an electric with some heavy distortion and fuzz, making the Martin a risky choice.
