All three were very tonally usable, but I preferred the clarity and fatter bottom of the Lake Placid Blue Original 60s. At least it sounded that way though my interface into my headphones.
I tried a brand new AVRI II in a music store because I was really excited about the specs on paper. I have to say I was disappointed. Action was setup pretty high and still there was a serious buzz on many notes above the 12th fret. A look at the fretboard and it was not straight at all, big bump at the end where it meets the body. Not something you can fix with a truss rod adjustment and Not what I would expect form a $2k instrument. ended up not buying it.
How come an AV ‘63 wasn’t included here? Well, the only difference between the LPB AO and a ‘63 is the paint and 9.5 radius. The same Pure Vintage ‘63 pickup was used in the American Original line. These read in the high 11’s! The AVII 60 pickup reads 10.5 and the entire bass is very similar to the Vintage Series 62’s. It was almost a waste of Fenders’ time to make these I feel.
Yeah 😂 I actually have the AVII 60 In sunburst and really love it. Was looking for an used AVRI62 or 63 at the moment Fender released this New line. An AV 70,72 etc would be Nice with Maple neck and 70s specs… Great review ! Flo
@@PrecisionBassFanpage do you know which ones are in which bass? Shouldn't there be the Fender Original in the AVRI 62 and the Pure Vintage 62 in the AVRI II 60s? Which of the pickups do you prefer?

The Lake Placid Blue one has something special in the highs that the others don't have.
😊 I agree

Tone wide open > Ao60 > AVII60 > Av62
Tone roll off > AVII60 > Ao60 > Av62
The Av62 just sound like play cover by blanket.
The 62 takes it.
Yeah they all sound like a bass
G&L L-100 is best.
