I went to 2 River Plate games whilst travelling, one was against Banfield and the other against Boca and I have genuinely experienced nothing like it. Going back in 2 years to do a whole year in Buenos Aires and I’m gonna try get a Season Ticket because it was so good.

The Monumental Stadium was the host venue of the 1978 World Cup final. The Bombonera sadly was not used; the Velez Sarsfield stadium was the other stadium in Buenos Aires used. ‘78 was the tournament before Maradona’s first; he was dropped from the squad because the manager didn’t think he was ready for the pressures for such a tournament, as he was only 17 at the time. Argentina’s star player of their side that won that tournament was Mario Kempes

About some things: the giant screen was being replaced (renewed) this very week, the CONMEBOL (like your UEFA) Forbade the use of smoke, fireworks or banners quoting the Malvinas Island. That is why fireworks were outside and there were no smoke flares inside. Some rules that once you see the coverage along South America are not applied everywhere (Brazil for example).
And before, the madness was greater because it was allowed to bring fireworks inside the stadium, larger banners and short meters to be able to shoot when your team came out.
I watched your last video even though you supported boca because it's cool to see foreign interest in out football. I'm happy you got to witness a winning team, the joy in the stands and that you won't be considered a jinx if you ever show up in an argentine stadium again 😂

It's a shame Conmebol doesn't allow a lot of more stuff, River couldn't show 2 big banners because of Conmebol, no flares neither, still the people manages to bring and incredible party to the stands. Also as you noticed, the River barra brava "Los Borrachos del tablon" can't go into the stadium, only club in Argentina where the real people sings all game, no barras, no ultras.

It's a shame Conmebol doesn't allow a lot of more stuff, River couldn't show 2 big banners because of Conmebol, no flares neither, still the people manages to bring and incredible party to the stands. Also as you noticed, the River barra brava "Los Borrachos del tablon" can't go into the stadium, only club in Argentina where the real people sings all game, no barras, no ultras.
