I'm 59. I discovered Inbetweeners 7 years ago when I was in a dark place. I wouldnt leave the house. I just watched the show every night on a loop. I would sit there cracking up. Inbetweeners saved my sanity, honestly.

What's brilliant about the inbetweeners is how British it is. The lameness of the houseparties, the lameness of the events that happen, the crappy school, which makes it relatable. If it was American the house parties would somehow have a soundsystem like it was an ibiza club, everyone would like like model and they would somehow be able to afford insane things. Plus the characters are all relatable especially when you were their age, but most of all the humour. This is exactly how we speak to each other relentlessly taking the piss out of each other and ourselves which basically means we are the best of mates haha. It's banter and they capture it really well and its why woke culture makes 0 sense in the uk. The good side is if your mates with someone we would do anything for you.
As brits we think real life in america is as u describe above, trust me at 21 I got married to an American and was sent to live in clovis new mexico I can only describe this as the armpit of America I had never in my life seen so much poverty, churches and to make it worse it was a dry county so you couldn't drink alcohol in restaurants it was the biggest culture shock ever, british comedians are based on real life american comedy are mostly based on the american dream

That puking scene reminds me of a personal experience 😂 one time I got drunk with a colleague, we went back to her house and I needed to throw up, I asked "wheres the bathroom?", she said "upstairs", so I sprinted upstairs and when I got there, it was just a corridor of closed doors, I didn't want to open any in case it was someone sleeping, so I vomited on the top of the stairs instead 😂. The girl's mother was totally cool with it though.

Watch "The Young Ones". That was my entertainment as a child growing up in Britain in the 70's and 80's. The best British comedy show ever made. A pure masterpiece and directed and acted by the famous and talented Adrian Edmondson, Rik Mayall, Nigel Planer and Christopher Ryan.
