I have the quiet baffles on my 2003 Wide Glide and I like the sound much more than the one by the stock baffles. It is not really quieter but with less annoying high- and mid-range frequencies. It´s a deep mighty sound that even my neighbours like very much! ;)
Awesome video, plain and simple....no Blah Blah Blah. Installing Baffles For Dummies. I'm going to order a pair of these for my recently purchased 05 Fat Boy w/ existing Vance and Hines Long Shots.
Did you put the quiet baffles in if so what do you think? I have an 01 fat boy that had screaming eagles they gave me ear problems for 2 weeks after a 1700 mile trip. So I found a stock set up but the power is horrible. I'm thinking about Long shots with the quiet baffles.
@@kye9549 Hi Kye, these are the super q's and yup they are quiet in my opinion, they ended up being to quiet for my liking, but they do work as advertised for sure.
Was it necessary to retune the motor or ECU after installing the Super Q baffles? Also, would it be possible to edit/extend the video to let us hear the Super Q baffles when the motor is revved? Tks!
Now the baffles are stuck in the pipe with the hole drilled out, but I can do a video revving it for sure, but it’s not the super quiet baffle version anymore because I can’t get these ones out anymore. However, the sound has grown on me and now I kinda like it the way, I’m not sure what I’m gonna do. thanks for watching!
the wrap burns off quick, it’s the metal hitting a ridge somewhere, myself and the dealer tried everything to get them out, it’s a freak thing but I do like it for now, if I want to tone it down later I may have to spring for new pipes.
Thanks for this video as it appears the super Q baffles made a huge difference. Hope this does the trick for me as well so that my wife will join me for rides :)
I have Rinehart full system exhaust on my Dyna. I practically have to yell even at an idle for anyone to hear me and I have hearing loss at the end of a ride even while wearing earplugs. Lots of high pitch “bark” to the sound. Sounds like these are my next exhaust. How is the pure volume? Do you feel you still lose hearing while riding? It’s nuts I wear earplugs and it’s still too loud.
It keeps the mesh tight. Once they’re installed and get hot the wrap melts and the mesh puffs up filling the exhaust completely. The wrap is on during install to make it easy to slide in.
Hi Tactical12, you’re right I should have given a better sound sample. In my latest video I did do that after I modified the baffle, I ride around with the baffles at different levels, I should have done that in this video, if I make another exhaust video I’ll do that for sure from now on. Thanks for the comment!
I think the Saran Wrap type material wrapped tightly around the baffle makes it much easier to install and helps hold the fiberglass material in place during the install, it will just burn off when you’re riding.
It burns off. I think the point of the the plastic is to hold the fiberglass in place when you slide it in. When I say plastic I’m referring to the thin layer around the baffle not the plastic bag they come in.

Yeah they sound great, I’m glad V&H has the optional baffles, cause the pipes look so good it’s cool to just swap out the baffles and still look great
I also love the sound comparisons at the end!
Thanks!

Thanks for the kind words Chris! Let me know what ya think when you get em installed.

Ordered a set of these for the Big Shots staggered on my '95 Heritage Special. Sounds like just what I need, thanks!
Good choice!
Fair difference in dBs there. Thanks for posting
Yup, I’m trying another set soon that should be somewhere between the stock and the super Qs, I’ll make that video as soon as they arrive.
@@ChiefHobie are they the ‘quiet’. If so I have those but looking at maybe the super q’s

@@ChiefHobie Why is it stuck? Is it because of the wrap?

Cheers mate went from stock to the big shots, like a sewing machine to a tractor, I reckon those Super Q's are the happy medium
Thanks for watching!

Wow! Big difference. I bought the super quiet baffles for my Big Shots Staggered, but the pipes have heat shields, so not so easy a job as shown here.
Thanks for sharing
why do you leave the plastic on ??
Why does the wrap have to stay on? Just curious.

as @prudien mentioned it keeps the mesh tight, it will burn off, thanks for watching!
No revving of the engine to hear the sound when on the throttle?

Shouldn’t you remove the plastic cover first?

@@ChiefHobie thanks, you are right
after i writ my comment, i check vids on youtube, they mentioned plastic shouldn’t be removed
Thanks bro
Revzilla says no.
Nice production and music! Love V&H
Thanks Shana!
Did the bike run the same?
Yes, havent noticed a difference, thanks for watching!
Very well done sir. Thanks.
Thanks!
If you leave the plastic on they are not coming out without a fight.
Heat the pipe to soften the goo and expect to hammer them out.
Y would u leave the plastic on its just going to melt..

😂😂😂
I think the plastic might make it get stuck in there?
Vance and Hines recommend keeping the plastic cover.
Why super Q's ? where's the comparison to quiet baffles ?
I planned on that but I had an issue that I talk about in another video: th-cam.com/video/sg5yojsaRZU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=1b1fYIezg-is07Vn
😱 ti sei dimenticato di togliere la plastica che tiene in posizione la lana di vetro per il trasporto 🤦
Your not supposed to remove it, that’s there to help with the install, the bike will burn that off eventually
THAT ! is how to do a video !
пакет то снять нужно было не?
The thin cellophane helps with the install, it will burn off
