    Just fitted my Big Shots after watching this video. Thanks very much for an easy to follow vid, I know this job wasn’t too technical but it still gave me the confidence to do the job myself. Cheers

    Great video, I have finally got to see what the hidden power chamber crossover looks like.
    I like the 2 into2 look, now you can have the look with 2 into 1 performance.
    First video I’ve seen showing the back side of the pipes.

      My bottom shield slides on fine but the top would not go on. It was a pain to get off too. And I might need a new exhaust at this point… I stupidly tried to bend the one of the pipe in to fit the shield and now it’s bad lol

    I have same bike, Just go the same big shots, and Fp3. You don't Breather change or FP3 video.....Do I have to change out the Air intake for best performance? Such as the Vance & Hines - 70001 - VO2 Air Intake?

    • @jpcycles
      @jpcycles  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      you definitely want to use a high flow intake. All of the FP3 tunes are based on using one. The bike needs the air. th-cam.com/video/4LgQS1s4a_E/w-d-xo.html this is the same basic air cleaner procedure, but with a couple of small changes for a Dyna, but the instructions show you exactly what to do. th-cam.com/users/edit?o=U&video_id=ad_kbjwwQPMThis is the FP3 video

    Hey J&P, I bought 4400281EXHAUST PORT GASKET , but when installing them, they got crushed a bit on one side. Do I need to replace them with new gaskets and ensure they dont get crushed or will the exhaust smooth this down?

    • @jpcycles
      @jpcycles  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on how bad they are. Try to press them back into shape with something rounded. Even the handle of a screwdriver could work.

    • @vijaykishenhampapur8207
      @vijaykishenhampapur8207 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. Did push them back into a rounded shape. Spoke to tech support and they suggested I start up the bike and if there is a leak it would be very obvious. Going with that and will report back on how it worked out.

  • @bodeine454

    I have an '05 Dyna Wide Glide EFI which has the V&H Longshots which come all the way out to the back of the rear tire. Is there a practical way for me to cut the exhaust pipes shorter like the ones you installed in this video and just buy the matching heat shields so that it has this same length and configuration? I don't really care for the Longshots all the much, I prefer the shorter versions....

    • @jpcycles
      @jpcycles  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not really. You could cut the pipes off but you would need to slide the baffle forward and remount. Then sent pipes out to be re-chromed. Probably easier to sell them and buy new.

    • @bodeine454
      @bodeine454 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jpcycles Yes I wondered about that also, where I cut the inner pipes it's gonna be raw steel that can rust. I thought about maybe coating the cuts in a zink type spray coating since they're not really gonna be seen because they'll be covered by the shorter heat shield and then end caps but your idea sounds like the better solution. Thank you!

      Do your pipes block your transmission dip stick?

    • @bodeine454
      @bodeine454 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@StupidTeenageVideos No they don't, as a matter of fact it's funny you asked that question, I just changed the trans fluid about two hours ago. 👍
      The longer pipes have grown on me though, I think I'll stick with them, I wasn't crazy about them at first.

    Any tips further tips on removing stock headers? Does the bike need to be cold or should I run it to heat the parts up before removal? I just don't want to break a bolt off.
    Thanks

    • @jpcycles
      @jpcycles  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's best to do when the bike is cold, just because you will not burn yourself. When removing the pipe make sure that you have the O2 sensor wires pulled free so that they do not get caught on something when pulling the pipes.
