I am so impressed with Moto-san and the way he handled all the challenges! I've owned and operated a very large Class C RV for almost 15 years now and, watching your first time, made me remember my first trip - a trip that I had tried to push out of my memory! Don't worry Moto-san, you will learn quickly! One of the biggest rookie mistakes in RVing is with the toilet. Most beginners don't put enough water in the black tank before they start using it. Before you start using the onboard toilet, put at least three to five gallons of water and the proper amount of chemical digester. Those that don't end up with the dreaded 'poop pyramid' that clogs the system and is difficult and nasty to clean out. Also remember to check both black and grey tank levels often - they can fill up fast and then you have a problem. Moe-san is very intuitive to think of making food in advance and freezing for the trip. We make several casseroles and cut them into the portions we like, wrap and freeze them. Campgrounds are very different here in the U.S., but I think you will like them a lot. Depending on where you are in the U.S., you will have to be very careful with the wildlife in each area/state - bears, snakes, ... I hope you make it to South Carolina! If you do, my Family and I will book in the same campground! Best Wishes!!!
3.55 love how when you panic a little even Sutan gets a little scared but as soon as you subtly suggest her to breathe and that it's gonna be okay, she calms herself and takes a deep breath🤍 You and Motto do such a wonderful job raising her, I'm always in such awe!!
This reminded me of family vacation movies my Dad used to make! 📽 Thank you so much! 🤗The fireworks & the camping meals make me feel so nostalgic to be a kid again on summer vacation, with a BBQ grill in the back yard! 🌭🍔🎆💖
OMG! Left side driver's seat *AND MANUAL TRANSMISSION??* Moto proving his international driving skills! 🏆👍 You guys showed us a great time even though the toilet / stove / water / fridge / *and air conditioning didn't work* , (& then the RV starts smoking...) - you made the best of it and found solutions!! It feels like you passed an entrance exam!! 😅 👏👏🙌
Sutan made me tear at the end of the video where she wants to stay there with her parents and not go back home. She was wishing and then she cries when leaving. 😢❤❤❤
Mom and Dad gave Sutan a magical time: precious memories that will last a lifetime. I still remember camping with my extended family in the Land between the Lakes in Kentucky. Some of my fondest memories. Most all those dear souls have gone on but my heart swells with love when I remember all we lived through together!
RV in the USA can be so much fun and adventurous if well prepared. It is safe to RV, Parks have full hookup spaces, which means you can connect RV to electricity, water, and sewage all the time while camping. If you decide to boondock (camping without connections), you can also do so, and every so often need to go to dump station to empty gray and black tank. There are RV parks in National or State Parks; there are also privately-owned RV parks that can be gated or not. This means that in gated RV parks only campers have access to the area (not just anyone can drive in and roam around). There are all kinds of RV types in the USA, do your research well and learn as much as you can; I assure you that you will be just fine. The RV community is very helpful 😊. Also, if you decide to visit Texas when RV’ing, please notify, so that we can come and camp with you in the same place. Let me tell you: you will find a very helpful and generous group of people in the RV community in our state. 😊 As if with anything new in life, there will be challenges and that is okay, because we learn and become better at what we do. Also there will be so much fun and adventures and memories that will last a lifetime ❤️. Good luck with your learning and never give up! 🥰
Brave and adventurous Kimono Family 👪 practicing van life 🎉. Even tho some electricity and A/C issues it looks like a big success... Sutan's tears 😭 at the end tells you she had a blast❤
This hit me hard in the feels. Almost too hard. Shows me the family life I never hard. But the tears I shed and happy tears, for this beautiful family. ❤
It reminds me of when Moto to the family on fishing trip. Moto really kept things together sooooo happiness can flow. I see the same thing with the RV camping soooo I'm content and very satisfied with another Kimono mom Adventure.:)!!!
Japan doesn't have the same RV culture as western countries (give me a moment because I had to wipe my glasses because I was crying a little at the end of your video, I love how Sutan didn't want the trip to end) so some of the features of this RV do not work in Japan - in the US the voltage required for an RV is 30 amps, well above a normal power outlet. Thankfully, unlike in Japan, there are many places you can get this, but you do need to search for it. We lived in our travel trailer (like an RV but pulled behind a truck) full time for 9 months. It had batteries and propane tanks that powered our a/c and range and refrigerator, but only for a limited time. Our daughter was 3-4 years old at the time and loved it. Also, the toilet/shower likely wasn't available because dump stations aren't really a thing in Japan since your service areas typically include baths/shower/restrooms. Here in the US many campgrounds and even state parks have an area where wastewater can be dumped. It doesn't smell good and is the least liked part of RV life, but you get used to it. It is a convenience to have the toilet/shower in the camper (our camper even had a small bathtub!) but that also means you have to use the smelly dump stations and maintain your grey and black water tanks, so if we were at a campsite that had bath facilities, we only used our camper toilet/shower in emergencies. In the US, campsites with RV facilities can be far apart, so you may need to "boondock" for a night or two before getting to your next destination. I'm so glad that you all had fun despite the challenges!!
SO there are different kinds of RV parks around the US. You have Local county parks which are usually easier to get a space at, State parks which are harder to find space and then national parks which sometimes require a year in advance for reservations for the very popular ones. Facilities at these parks vary tremendously. Many wont have electricity, some wont have running water, and some might just have outhouses. There are private RV Parks that serve travelers and long term residents. These places might offer free showers and electricity and water and sometimes cable for TV. Some might even have a special feature like a pool or animals, or a river nearby. Sometimes they have laundry services too. But these places are more expensive. Local and state parks will range from primitive $15 no water/no facilities to $60 for electricity and water. National parks will usually fall in the middle since many have very little offerings for campers behinds toilets and water. If you’re lucky you might have a shower. The RV Parks can go up to $150 a night for ones with pools and resort like features. Every camp is different and each sate is different about what they offer.
Sutan is so cute.😍 She cherishes the family travel, it brings you closer together. I felt so touched when she cried about the end of the family trip. Children are so pure.😊 I look forward to your USA RV vlog.😉
This video brings back memories of when I was a kid, traveling around Colorado in a campervan with my brother and parents. Thank you for sharing! ありがとう
In English we actually don't have a noise designated for rabbits either. "Squeak" is usually associated with mice and other small rodents, so that's probably why they chose it for the cartoon as the closest approximation. So whatever you use for small rodents in Japanese works!
I really enjoy your vlogs💞 Sultan is such a intelligent child and your family is beautiful❤️💗. Sultan really loves to spend time with the both of you which is very heart warming to see🥰
I think everyone should watch this so that 1. You can see what it's like to be raised by a great family and 2. You can realize how much you are missing by not having children. I love this family, they are just too sweet and so much fun.
What a great test run for your US trip. Lots of unexpected issues you guys worked around, and Sutan ❤ it! You guys are going to be just fine when you get here! ✌️ ⛺️
This was a great family video 😊 Sutan is so smart and was so cute at the end when she cried. This is just me but I would contact the RV you used and complain about the smoke. Thank you for sharing your family 😊
It feels nostalgic seeing this. I remember my son when he was still Sutan's age. we often go watch hanabi...and go to different places. now he is 31yrs old and far away frOm us as we had decided to go back and live here in the Phils. I sooo missed my life there in Japan...my friends., the usual stress free lifestyle, the different variations of delicious foods and all that... and of course my dear son!
RV life is not easy! We just bought a new RV and learning all the ins and outs of the van is hard. If this is a trial run for the US, don’t be surprised at the bathroom facilities. Your’s looked very nice as all toilets in Japan are when in tourist areas… But the campgrounds in America are usually a lot more ‘rustic’ Some even only have outhouses (which are usually cheaper).
It’s too bad that RV had so many problems. I hope you get a better one next time to make your decision. Comfort and ensuring everything is working is important for long trips.
If you’re planning on doing this in the US visit Olympic National Park or Acadia National Park. They’re on opposite ends of the US but there’s so much to do! Acadia in Maine has the most delicious seafood! 🦞
I Love it,,, So Glad To See All of You,,, Especially,,, da "Little One",,,, aka ,,, "Lil Sutan Chan",,, I Miss Her So Much,,,----> Daddy Acting Like "Retired Kamikaze Pilot",,, Driving New RV,,, I Love Daddy Too, He's So Cool... 7 Elevens in the US are not nearly as good as they are in Japan. You’re going to have to find better alternatives for shopping in the US when you are RV traveling there.
Never been RVing but have taken a lot of road trips. I'd say Love's (The truck stop/travel stops) might be a good place to stop if you can't make it to the next RV park. They have bigger truck parking spaces, restrooms, showers, laundry, and a convenience store that isn't too bad as far as American ones go. Some fast food restaurants too.
Aw, sweet Sutan. ♥ Will you be doing a lot of RV trips in the US? There are some campgrounds in National park that I've seen, but I'm not sure what the expense would be. How cool it would be to see those adventures with you all if you share. 🤗
Coast line highway 1 and the Utah Mighty Five are 2 must-do road trip in USA. :) Also Grand Canyon and White Sand National Park are family-friendly national park as well. :)

Well Sutan really seemed to enjoy that mini trip in the camper. I don't think I'd ever trust her learning to drive as she always falls asleep within 10 minutes of being in any kind of road vehicle.
I was like that as a child (and still can fall asleep as an adult) but if I'm driving I don't get the least bit tired. It's really different being a driver vs passenger.

Good Family 👨👩👧🥰
Omgs. I am so happy for you three.
I feel bad for any Japanese person coming into a US 7-11 or other convenience store. It must seem post-apocalyptic.
You can see why people get weird without kids. Whenever I’m getting too ‘serious’ which work can definitely do, these videos bring me back to earth.
RV life is so much different in the US, make sure you cook as much as you can because our fast food sucks compare to your convenience store.
Damn this family is so adventures 🤣
Sutan charming girl❤
