    Always start these bikes from cold with the fast idle lever engaged and no throttle, really easy to flood. Youre master cylinders are missing their dampers by the looks of it. Really enjoying this series

      Yea I forgot on that attempt 🤦‍♂️ as you can see I got the pop/bang from over fueling again after it stalled.. all part of the Italian charm lol.

    Hello, I just discovered your channel and the truth is that I really like it, I don't know if you know from forums, or from the Internet, the two improvements that are usually made to that model, one is to increase the section (diameter) of the positive battery cable to the alternator and battery negative in the chassis, with this you improve charging and starting which is a weak point in these twin cylinders as it requires a lot of effort to move those 2 pistons that it has (there are pages that sell kits for Aprilia and Ducati on Google), other points What I know of to improve is that there is an oil filter update for one with a larger size and flow rate than the one you have, apparently Aprilia realized that there were RSV's that seized rear cylinders and they decided to install a larger filter with a cover larger filter to increase lubrication... I was the happy owner of an RSV 1000 r Factory and in that time I learned a lot from them, later I have had 3 more Aprilias and right now I have a Tuono V4 Factory '16... make those modifications and believe me they will work for you very satisfying. Greetings and continue pampering your frames... I will continue watching your videos every time I can...

    Really enjoyed watching these vlogs. When you turn on the ignition the rev counter will swing onto what the flashing rev limiter is set at. You could do with adjusting this to 11k as the flashing light will get on your nerves if left at 6k. A simple google search will tell you how to do it 👍

    Very impressive. Couple of things. Being in a cold and wet climate I would get yourself a Brake fluid moisture tester. Brake fluid absorbs moisture at a helluva rate and once the moisture content reaches 3% your fluid is stuffed. if it reaches 5% you are going to boil the water in the fluid and the brakes may lock on with disastrous results. I would have used a new air filter because after that length of time the material will start to break down. Oh and one other thing, you need a bigger shed 😁😁

    I've had a similar issue with the front brakes on a Triump Tiger 855i, thats sat for a couple of years, as you were having with the clutch. No leaks but still it wouldn't work. My thought is it has to do with brake fluid being hydroscopic. Once the brakefluid accumulates a lot of water you basically try to use water instead of brakefluid to do the work. Thats my guess anyway. Please keep making these videos. I really like them. Cheers

    Great work. Couple of tips to save you some hassle.
    Letting the bike warm up until the fans cut in to measure oil level does NOT work no matter how many people say it does. The bike needs a quick 20 minute ride to find the accurate level.
    Also if you fill the coolant system on a paddock stand as opposed to the side stand, there's a good chance you'll get trapped air in the system on these bikes, which 'may' cause you issues.
    Lastly, more an observation; the crankcase drain plug doesn't appear oem. The original should have a prominent magnetic tip and does NOT have a sealing washer.
    Enjoying the videos and the chilled vibe 👌

    • @stoneautomotive
      @stoneautomotive  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    If you clamp the bar ends with some grips you can unscrew the bolt while keeping the bar ends still. Should work.

    Fantastic work mate! I think the collector hose might be missing from the throttle side of your airbox. It's on the "clean" side of filter so a potential air leak there. Also might be worth checking the plastic one-way valve in the slipper clutch system - they always break.

      Thanks Andrew,
      Shall look into the airbox hose and the slipper clutch one way valve, I wasn’t even aware it had such a system for the slipper clutch until others had mentioned it being a weak spot on the design with the age of these now 👍

    Check the starter solenoid. It’s weak as standard on these. Uprated to 150A via AP workshops aftermarket one takes better care of the battery and sprag clutch.
    Also check front and rear tank bolt alignment. If you have to apply pressure to get the front or rear ones in after refitting tank then that’s a sure sign the ethanol in the petrol and moisture have expanded the tank. It’ll need replacing with a used one whilst you dry store the original a good 6 months to shrink back then epoxy line it. With these it’s not if but when they go, trust me.
    Also worth balancing TBs if not already done and check clutch slave cylinder for leaks. If leaking best to replace with Oberon aftermarket item.
    People rave about Ducatis of this era but the rsv and rsvr Mille’s were by far the better bike👍

    What astonishes me is that injector seals for a relatively modern Italian bike aren't available. What does this say about the viability of owning these?
    By comparison, I can order new OE or aftermarket seals for my BMW K100 from about two dozen different places, which is probably why there are so many of them still on the road.

    Not sure what paint Brembo used on those master cylinder caps, but it is awful! I put a 2nd hand one (from a Falco) on my Bimota Dieci (which used a Yamaha master cylinder with Brembo calipers, which didn't give any brake feel), and my quick tart up of the cap has lasted far longer than the original finish. Do you have the diaphragm in place under the cap? If not them water vapour can get at the fluid easily, and potentially fluid leak out.
    Looks like the bar end weight use an expanding rubber bung inside the bar. As you have taken the tension off this then hopefully you can just pull the bar end out (possibly use some silicone spray to help it slide out). Once off they should be easy to clean up.

    • @stoneautomotive
      @stoneautomotive  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It’s a nightmare that finish on those caps, happened to my 748sp too! I wonder if it’s the moisture drawn to the brake fluid that clauses it..
