Amazing podcast. Totally loved and agreed with all the points on how to keep people interested and coming back. It has to be difficult at times and it has to have a sense of progression for sure !
A Native American faction would be so easy to fill as they have so many great characters like the Trickster in all of its forms, or the Thunderbird. Would love to see them as a faction in the game! One caution however, that Native American tribes are vibrant, living, and deeply spiritual cultures. If you jump into this make sure to approach it with respect and sensitivity. Consider consulting with one or more tribes for guidance, obtaining their permission, and working with them to ensure your game is authentic and culturally respectful. If you do that you’ll gain a level of respect that others miss. Thanks for hosting MadCapper . . . love the videos and keep these fantastic conversations coming!
My favourite podcast yet! Nailed so many things right on constant small progression, perceived wants vs actual (pay to win ASAP), story telling (shout out to Last of Us as the best RPG story), flexibility of teams/champs in different content Fantastic guest in Capper and as a fellow Canadian I support the peace tent (or war tent more likely!)
I remember them saying don't feed legos. I also remember the learning curve of speed, I built for 6 months a def team which was strong but was 1 year to early. When I invested in apothecary the game changed.
This was such an easy hour to listen too...Cant wait for the game to come out. cant wait to see how do competitive arena - 1 key thing I would like regarding walking us through is the levelling up champs to six star like almost like a side quest. Cant believe the game is only 10 months out roughly it will fly in.
I'm sad I've not been apart of this backstory. Sounds better than most netflix shows. How could Hades Never Collab With CAPPER! 🤣 Great podcast as always. I tried out Witcher of Realms myself from being a 4x City Builder Guy. And it made me try because it seemed new, refreshing and I liked the graphics in a short summary. Keep up the podcasts
With the issue on how much Tutorial/ Hand holding, could upon initial loading of the game prompt players with options on how experienced they are? And give a custom level of tutorial based on it?
I like watcher and played it daily for a few months but have let it lapse. Ultimately I prefer the style of combat that raid offers over tower defense. I stopped playing raid a while back because honestly I felt guilty supporting them after a while plus there was the "it feels like a job" aspect. I like King Arthur but the lack of hero diversity bothered me and I am not playing it either right now.
I agree, it's so true. I enjoyed WoR but once you do a piece of content, you really feel like you never really need to improve it anymore. It's fun that you don't feel "obligation" to spend a lot of time daily... but at least for me, after a few weeks I lose interest. On the other hand, things that you hate like time in dungeon in raid is actually the motor. I remember beating a dungeon in like 5 min and trying to reduce my time because I need to run it 153 times for a gusion. Getting that 5 min to 3 min and now to 1-2 min is actually what drives players to get better champions and team composition. More variety of team too compared to WoR that feels like "For X content you need Y champion and that's it". Feels way more restricted (even if raid is starting to go that way).
22:48 dont make the mistake Ben Brode and SD made on Snap. Theres currently a economic problem driven from the fact that they dont want money to buy a full collection. Please try to balance it out
I had this idea for Godforge watching this video. Why should you care about content you’ve already beaten? How about making the treasure drops better the faster/more damage you do.
You need to make sure before new content comes out the the existing one is done and working properly. If not and the community is saying things you need to fix, then fix the issues before any new content. That’s the problem with Raid they just leave every aspect broken and just release new content that’s broken. Update any champ that is useless. Don’t put out new champs every week. Make sure everything works before moving on. And you need to change the camera. One thing you need is behind them closer up so you can see the details. KA I do not like their camera angles. You need one thing to take from Raid and that’s their camera angle and champs need to look amazing detail.
I am really hoping Godforge doesnt follow the Raid path of making time on runs the most important factor of farming. I would much rather see a star based system where the more objectives you accomplish in a run affects the quality/ number of rewards
I don’t really like watcher of realms but godforge is definitely gonna have a hard time beating King Arthur it is done so well I love it but raid is just dying and honestly I don’t care at this point
To the topic of tutorial: Why not just give people a choice, if they want to use a tuturial, hold their hand, and if they don't want it, let them opt out... Tutorial, skip segment, and opt out of tutorials entirely.
hard content" as you mention PoE2--- when you make a game where BOSS oneshoot you and is a SPUNGBOOB of miliion HP--- thats not hard content its STUPID... if i need to HIT a boss 100x times just to chop his 10% HP and the boss hits me ONCE and im dead --- THATS not FUN-- thats not HARD thats STUPID as fuck!

I just waiting for this game...😊
This was great! mAdCapper is a favorite of mine so glad to have him on the podcast!
...and finally collab with Simon 😂
It's a miracle 🤣
Edit: 2025 is year of the collab! Be prepared to join the channel for a chat! ,😊
It's about time you had Cap-Daddy on the show! 😄
Sad to have missed this one! Great insights and good times MadCapper!
Hi the game sounds like it’s going to move heads and fingers can’t wait

One suggestion to always make it interesting to rethink builds and strategy. Give additional currency rewards for more effective dungeon clearing.
24min in, it a heros journey after all!
Great video!!

King Arthur had set a new standard for this genre 😁. No energy use when you lose a battle is huge for every player.

Is the game going to use stamina ?
